Carnadhiel had been in and out of the pride's lands, gathering members from all over. This was but one of her trips.
Head high and claws gripping the ground as she walked, Carnadhiel was an intimidating image to anyone who would happen to behold her. But the dark lioness was never one to care about what other people thought. She only focused on her duty.
A gust of wind swept over Carnadhiel and ruffled her fur. She braced herself as it came. It was much windier than usual. It seemed that a storm was coming. Carnadhiel narrowed her eyes, displeased that her member-hunting might have to be postponed. But then something caught her attention.
Shifting her white eyes ahead, Carnadhiel spotted a lion. After a brief moment of examination, she realized it was a male. The flickering memory of laughter and jeering filled her head and Carnadhiel flexed her claws. Ignoring the wind, she continued to walk, making sure to make a deep, curved path to get around the male lion. But Carnadhiel expected that she might not be able to get away so easily...

Uumizi was trotting along at a rapid pace. It was not like him to be out when the weather was changing. His fur was already starting to shift from the wind, something that really displeased him when it did. His mane would have several hairs out of place and he could not keep it still as he wished.
"Of all the days for the weather to be sour...it had to be this one." He mumbled to himself, his eyes were glued to the path ahead. He never really noticed the other that was close to him. All that matter was he were to find some decent shelter to wait out the eventual storm that would be coming soon, he knew it would be here.
What was this? Was it rain? Uumizi stuck his head up once he heard some noise from the ground, looking side to side rather quickly he saw there was no droplets to be found, but there was something else. Another lion? He stopped his glancing to focus in, taken back by the fact there was another out in this. Staring forward, he would not speak a word as he walked, he might as well get a closer look to this strange one.

Black hair bristled on the lioness's back, ever aware of the approaching stranger. Carnadhiel halted in her steps and turned her head to see the lion clearly. He was black with vibrant-colored patterns, a bright mane and eyes like the sun. Compared to Carnadhiel's small but muscular body, the male was quite large. This only made the lioness even more aware of the potential danger. But despite this, him simply being a male was putting her into a defensive state.
"Stay where you are," Carnadhiel called icily above the whipping wind, white eyes staring unblinkingly at the lion. "and leave me be." she finished. The lioness was used to giving orders and demanding things from others. She wasn't fully used to the fact that she was no longer a general.

The male looked rather hesitant at first and at some sort of shock. He wondered on the direct command from her. Did he stumble into a foreign territory? He had no idea he did pass a border, or did he? Thinking to himself in that short span of a moment, his eyes then stared back at the lioness. This was a rather awkward situation to be in.
"Is that so? Are we in your lands? I do mean no harm. I just pass through, but I do respect those words issued by a lioness." He plants his right fore paw down as he spoke, golden eyes glancing back to that iced glare he received. I'm sure we could just walk on by without any trouble even by several words tossed by each other."

"These are not my lands." the lioness answered, her voice stony and blunt, but at the same time cool and crystal. She made no comment on the lion's words of respect towards herself. She, in all honestly, didn't care. He was a male. That was all.
"And I would prefer it if we did go our separate ways, yes." Carnadhiel replied lastly, face remaining blank at all times. She didn't care if those were the last words the two said to one another. Her mood was already fouled by the bad weather which threatened her mission to gather recruits for the pride. She certainly didn't want a pushy male making matters worse.
Then again, it was probably too late anyway.

"So they are not. Would you mind saying what is then?" His eyes then take a glance to the clouds overhead and the sudden pick up in wind. The weather was worsening the longer they stood there. It troubled him slight as to what she would be doing out here since he was used to the weather being one way or the other. She had to manage well on her own though so she might not have to be worried on as typical company, most would seek shelter right away, but she must be on some type of expedition to be out in it, he wondered. "The weather does not seem worth being out in, unless you like a challenge like myself."
Uumizi tapped his left front paw against the ground, and tries to think further at what she had said. "I could assume you wish to go that way, correct? But it might be beneficial if you would tread back the way you came, or perhaps you could use my help if that is too far. I do know a little of where we are the way I did come, and there is shelter near by. You appear to fend for yourself well, but by the looks of things there will be much of a down pour shortly, and unless you enjoy being soaked, you could follow me." He only offered what he said as a suggestion. Her attitude clearly rubbed him the wrong way slightly, but he could not leave a lioness out when it could be trouble.

"It is for me to decide what weather I wish to go out into, sir." the lioness replied politely. Her eyes turned up to the sky for just an instant, taking in the sight of the black clouds rolling in quickly. The weather really could only get worse at that point. But even though she was unaware of it, Carnadhiel had a slight streak of stubbornness. While her instinct told her to head back to the pride, her head told her to keep searching.
And she intended to for the time being. No male was going to stop her.
"I appreciate your concern," Carnadhiel began, though that first part was a bit of a lie. "But I'll take my chances."
This male was a bit stubborn himself, Carnadhiel decided. And something told her he wasn't going to let her risk her own safety just like that...

Uumizi could tell she was adamant on her way. She clearly disliked him for some reason, but it was something he was accustomed to. He forgot how things could be pleasant one moment and not so pleasant the next.
A shake of the head as he looks to the sky and he too notices the more drastic changes above them. The wind hollowed not too far from them. He slaps his right fore paw against the ground and kicks up some dust at its pass to determine just what they might be up against by the breeze.
"Allow me to accompany you until that ceases to be a problem. I cannot turn away if another could be in danger." He says, slowly at first, keeping his eyes upon the lioness. He had to say this just right without insulting her, to which it could if it were taken the wrong way. "Not that I don't trust you could fend for yourself. You are out here just as I am, but I am not one to take a chance on a life. If for any reason you feel I am too close to you, you are more than welcome to do what you feel is necessary, but I do mean no harm." He repeats to assure her of his motives.

A raindrop landed on Carnadhiel's ear and it flicked in response. Her face was blank, as always, but inside she was quite irritated, both with the weather and with this male.
Why did he feel the need to watch over her, like some kind of guardian? Her life was no concern of his. She was simply out doing her duties. And though he said he trusted her to defend herself, he certainly wasn't acting like it. Carnadhiel was tempted to tell him that she had been a general in another pride, but held that back. You could never be too careful around strangers, especially males. The more information one released of themselves, the easier they were to harm.
"You may do as you wish." Carnadhiel answered, her voice almost inaudible against the rushing roar of the wind. The lioness began to walk again, head low and body tense.
She really did want to go back home...But something in her wanted to keep searching, just to get the better of that male. She felt very juvenile at the idea of that, but she continued on regardless.

"Fair enough." He replied, taken back slight at her overall tone, but there was not much else to expect. He did wish to go his own way, but meeting new company was priority one. Besides following her, he could have more insight as to where and why she would even be out here. He was curious to a fault, and with nothing better to do, this was all he had for entertainment.
Uumizi would not speak another word for a short while. There was not much else to say as it could give ire to the lioness. He kept himself a good distance from her, but still close enough they could converse if the situation arose. He kept his head high along with one eye to the horizon. Those clouds were not improving and it made him frown.
"This might be serious." He says over another howl of the wind, witnessing a tree not to far bend its branches as the air passed through it. Uumizi took note of how far they did move, clenching his teeth from inside his mouth. Another droplet of water splashed onto his nose. "Those trees would not hold a good place to keep dry." He spoke openly even if the comment was more to himself.

Time was passing slowly; uncomfortably. Carnadhiel was trying to remain relaxed and calm. But her mood was sliding down a slope. When the male spoke of the trees, perhaps suggesting her to take shelter under them, Carnadhiel resisted the urge to roll her eyes. Was he serious? Hiding under trees to keep safe from a storm? What about the lightning?
As that thought passed through her mind, a blinding flash of lightning darted across the sky, followed by an almost immediate crack of thunder. The earth vibrated under the lioness's paws and she narrowed her eyes. So, the storm was trying to get the best of her, was it? Was it TRYING to make her have to spend time with that male?
"Indeed." Carnadhiel replied after several moments, though it was unclear as to which of the male's statements she was responding to.
The rain drops began getting steadier, but Carnadhiel continued onward.

Uumizi dragged his feet several steps as the sound of thunder filled his ears. The lioness's voice was barely audible above them as he caught just a glimpse of her response. He was no beginner when it came to travel. His eyes tried to keep to the surroundings instead of the lioness. It was fair enough he was walking with her, but his main focus was shelter because he was not foolish enough to be caught out in a storm when it approached.
Dealing with deserts is one thing and at the most it ever knocked him out of action was several days due to trying to rejuvenate from the heat he endured. Sickness from a storm was something else entirely and he knew neither of them could afford such a feat. Lightning only made matters worse and that always signaled the point of not laying under a tree, he learned that lesson a long time ago when he was a cub.
Still, he watched her and she was an unmoveable force. She was determined to go this direction and he would surely follow. He made a promise as loose as it was to keep, but at this point he was going to garnish some respect from her. At this time again he went silent and kept his pace steady, eyes slitted to keep the raindrops away as he kept watch in case she showed signs of slowing and finding a place to rest, but he knew at her pace that would not be so quickly.

There was another flash of lightning and another deafening crack of thunder. The sun was completely blocked out. Black clouds smothered the entire sky and made everything seem as though it was night time. The sound of rain coming in from the north, pounding and splattering against the ground, was getting closer.
Carnadhiel felt her body tense by itself as she awaited the rain's cold greeting to her body. She didn't need to wait long. It had only been a matter of seconds before she could see the thick sheet of gray rain approaching. Before she knew it, it was smothering her entire body, drenching her from head to paw. Her ears flopped to the sides, but her face remained unmoved.
Carnadhiel did not like being cold.
White eyes glancing to the left just for a moment, Carnadhiel spotted the area of shade the male had pointed out before. It wasn't very far behind. Only a few paces away, really. With a silent sigh, Carnadhiel changed directions and headed for the trees. If lightning struck and she died, it wouldn't be her fault...Right?

The next flash snapped his eyes wide open and he could only catch glimpse of the blur the female was as she ran. She couldn't have been afraid of the storm could she? No, it had to be something else. He persued her long enough to know his company was not completely welcome with her but it was not that was why she was running.
Uumizi sat down as she trotted past him and he began to grin, smile even. Slowly at first but then he began to laugh as the rain smothered him in all the dampness. He got it now as he was starting to soak up the water in his fur. "I did not say that was a good spot to go to." He called out breaking his laughter. "Under those trees won't do us any good. I have not sat under one in a mess like this since I was a cub. If you mind another dash the other way and being wet, there is a safer place where you can dry up."

Carnadhiel's tail hung stiffly behind her and her ears remained flopped to the sides. Her nose wrinkled and she stared out at the endless pouring rain.
The trees weren't acting as AMAZING shelter; water was still coming through a bit. But it was better than no shelter at all. That rain was very, very cold.
When the male brought up going to a different place, Carnadhiel raised her eyebrows, mouth in a thin line and eyes emotionless.
"No, thank you." she answered loudly above the pounding of rain. She blinked slowly, thinking. She wondered why the male was trying so hard to take care of her. What did he care, really? What did he have to gain? She was just a stranger to him; a wandering lioness who got caught in the same storm as him. But what did that matter? It didn't mean a thing. So why was he so concerned? He didn't even know her. How could one have concern for one they didn't even personally know?
Carnadhiel was confused.
