"People need to realize," Sellion mumbled loudly to himself. "that the left paw in someone else's eyes is actually the right paw, and the right paw is actually the left." His eyes flicked up to the cloudy sky. "So what is left and right?" he whined in question, getting lost in his "deep" thoughts. "Isn't it so, Chana?" he murmured. Then he continued walking.

The trees in that area were dry and dead, but they were numerous. There was a strange, spiky shade wherever one walked. Sellion wasn't a true fan of the sun so he, without realizing it, was enjoying his shady stroll. But his mood was beginning to take a turn for the worse; or for the "better", as he would tell you. Frustration and confusion were starting to scrape at the cheetah's head. Once lost in his own perturbed thoughts, Sellion had a tendency to confuse himself and sour his mood. That's exactly what was taking place.

"Bloody, stupid, angry, selfish creatures..." Sellion hissed, head sinking low as he glared around. "They will all die one day...One day..." he repeated to himself. "I'll kill them all..." Then something caught his eyes. A blotch of light interrupting the shade. What was it...? Sellion tilted his head and squinted.

Barafu dozed in a tree, having momentarily left the company of his sadistic hybrid companion to think about things. His tail flicked back and forth in a shaft of light, causing it to flicker in and out on the ground below him. She had posed a very interesting offer. To be her second, to protect her and feed her ideas when she needed them and in return he got various perks, though only when her dreams began to take form. Still though...

He frowned down at the ground when he heard a voice below him that its mere existence annoyed the cold, scarred cheetah. His eyes narrowed down at the absurd-looking cheetah as it came into view and stopped in the flickering shaft of light.

As Sellion got closer, he realized that the light in the shade was a white cheetah. Such brightness; such purity blinded him for a moment. Sellion squinted and turned his head away, trying to keep his eyes on the cheetah. But then he saw the darkness in the cheetah's black eyes, and the scars. Sellion turned his head back. Something about this other cheetah was different than most. Something resonated from him. Sellion became intrigued.

"Hello." he said bluntly.

Barafu sneered down at the cheetah, not giving him the pleasure of a reply to such a blunt statement. His quiet afternoon had been interrupted and that annoyed him, but then many things about this disturbance did. One of which was the absurdity of the other cheetah's coat. Of course, he wasn't one to be prejudice towards other creatures because of coat or species or anything like that. He hated most creatures equally.
So, for the moment, he just stared down at the newcomer, eyes narrowed dangerously.

"What the hell are you looking at, Princess Snow?" Sellion snapped, glaring. His mood had shifted from friendly and intrigued to furious in a matter of split seconds. He had been brought up to recognize good manners from bad. Such things were drilled into his mind at a very young age. So he knew very, very well that such a look was the epitome of impoliteness.. "Are you deaf, perhaps?" he asked loudly, as if talking louder to a deaf creature caused them to hear you better.

Sellion had been meeting people in trees lately. It was irritating and fascinating at the same time. So even though he was angry with this other cheetah for staring in such a rude way, Sellion kept staring right on back.

"I'm looking at the absurdly colored beast that killed my quiet afternoon with his daft vocalization," Barafu shot back, his voice deep and challenging. He was not a creature to be trifled with, knew it, and yet deemed it fine to just stay in the tree for now. It didn't look like the other cheetah planned to climb to the tree anytime soon, so he was quite determined to scratch at the other male, seeing how he ticked. The Ice Heart always was manipulative jerk with a taste for testing other creatures.

"Is that so?" came the reply. Sellion began circling the tree, glaring up at the other male as he did so. "It's better to have a colored coat then no color at all." Sellion spat back. Many in the past had made crude comments about his coat color. Sellion was never sure why. He grew up in a family of colorful others, so when he saw those with bright colors, he didn't mind. But it seemed that others did. "Besides..." he said darkly, chin high. "I'm a demon."

As Sellion was circling, his back paw got caught under a thin root. Sellion screamed at the top of his lungs and sprinted forward, stumbling and falling on his face. He rolled in the dirt for a moment, wheezing, and then jumped back onto his feet. He stood still, gasping slowly, eyes focused on the tree trunk.

Great, now even the TREES were after him? What a hard life he lived...

"Oh, but I have color. It just takes a keen eye to see it," Barafu replied swiftly and then chuckled at the other's statement. If that creature was a demon, then he was a follower of the god of peace. And then his chuckled evolved into gales of deep, dark laughter as the "demonic" cheetah tripped all over himself.
"Well, if you're an example of demon-kind has to offer, then I do believe I qualify as a god among your "kind"," he short back through his laughter, his blood-colored eyes closing in his mirth. He considered coming down to meet the other male face-to-face, but at that moment he didn't quite feel like fighting another and was certain that is where it would escalate to if he climbed down.

Sellion did have keen eyes. He could see much. He had seen much. He would in the future see even more. He had good eyes...Bright, colorful eyes. And he knew the white cheetah had at least one other color besides white on his pelt, but it wasn't enough to distract one's gaze. He was simply a bland cheetah. Sellion, having grown up in a family of extremely bright-colored and contrasting cheetahs, found most of the time that he didn't favor the sight of bland things. They made him...Uncomfortable.

But that strange stream of pointless thought was interrupted by this bland-looking cheetah's next statement.

Eyes flashing, Sellion's face became deadly serious. THIS one? A demon GOD? He spoke filth. Filth and lies and nonsense. It was disgusting.

Sellion lunged at the tree, one paw digging claws deep into bark. He stared up at the cheetah, face blank and eyes wide in a psychotic stare.

"Get down here and say that again, you pathetic piece of filth." he hissed savagely.

Barafu leapt carefully down, landing with a soft thud behind the other cheetah, eyes narrowed as he straightened into a fighting stance.
"I said, if you are what demon-kind has to offer, than I must be a god," the heavily scarred, world-hardened cheetah replied slowly, enunciating the words carefully for that the words managed to slip through the apparently thick skull of the gaudy cheetah.

"Unless my knowledge of demons is wrong. Do you take pleasure at your opponents screams? At the feel of blood, hot and slick, running over your paws?" he asked, his near-black eyes rolling upwards slightly as a small shudder worked through his body at the very thought. It had been too damned long since he last really tortured another creature. He had been making his kills quickly lately, simply for practicality. He'd been hungry, and he didn't much want to draw other creatures to his kill from the screams of his prey.

Sellion spun around to face the landing cheetah, eyes wandering over its form in curiosity and wariness. There was a sense of something dark in this white cheetah's voice. Sellion could hear things raging inside of him. Perhaps...Perhaps he was a demon? But if he was a demon, he would be the only demon Sellion ever disliked.

He disliked this cheetah.

Upon hearing the cheetah's voice, the words he spoke, and the way he relished them, Sellion's mind was filled with mental images of the slaughter of his family so long ago. His pupils seemed to dilate as he slipped into a world of his own, the sounds of his weak mother's screams filling his ears, though silence surrounded him. Then he saw fire...Fire creeping over everything. He blinked, pink eyes wavering over the white cheetah's paws. Fire was climbing those paws and traveling up that white cheetah's legs. Then the fire sprawled across the ground and headed for Sellion.

Pupils shrinking to nearly non-existent slits, Sellion let out a horrified scream, the sound ripping through the silence. His claws dug up dirt beneath him as he tore himself away from the other cheetah. It only took seconds for Sellion to get far away from that scene; away from the white cheetah; away from the fire.

But really, there had been no fire all along.

Barafu watched with narrowed eyes as the cheetah screamed in horror, turned, and fled. What a disappointment.
With a slow shake of his head, he made his way in the opposite direction from the "demon", heading back towards his much more interesting companion and her curious offer.
