ATTENTION ALL SENIORS!
How many of you either got depressed or will get depressed once you learn your last sets of drill for marching band?
I did! We just learned our last sets today, and even put music to them!
crying crying crying
I don't want this all to end!
We have our first competition next week (BOA San Antonio), and our first official showing of the full show (Fall Festival) next week, so we kind of had to have it done, but still. It's really sad because you realize that it's almost over!
Sure, you could be optimistic about it and say that there's always room for improvement, but that could also be taken as that you didn't do as well as you could have, and that's not exactly a very appealing thought to end the season on. Especially if you're in a very competetive band/school.
So what are your last show band stories?

I am the kind of person who would get sad. At the time, I wasn't marching though, so I didn't really feel much. But I got this huge wave of deja-vu and depression when I realized it was my last Monday Night Practice. On the other hand, college marching is amazing. I really don't miss high school (as awful as that sounds). So at the least, it's not the very end (unless you're not doing marching in college?).

It's sad to say that after eight years of marching band (high school AND college), my time is finally coming to an end. D:

Yeah I'm definitely suffering from senior depression, although this year has not been nearly as fun as normal since we got a new band director. I miss my old one. But my last show in high school! I want to march in college, but I don't know if I'll be able to--the college I'm most interested in doesn't march piccolos, my main instrument, and although I play trumpet in the jazz band I highly doubt I'm nearly good enough to march it next year in college. sad

im not a senior yet. but i feel depressed when i think about the fact that some of my favorite people from band wont be there next year. i mean what will it be like without them, all there hilariousness, it makes me wanna cry to know we wont be making jokes about sam and connie derr, and we wont be yelly COLLIN SHOEFIXER (as opposed to schumaker) and where will we be without matt bulka playing to loud and making the best jokes and just everyone being so awesome. Greenwood High School Marching Band class of '09. you will be greatly missed.

I was sad at the band banquet that we had at the end of the year because, for me, that was the signal for the end of my high school more so than graduation. I was sad that I wasn't going to march with my high school anymore, but I wasn't too sad because I knew I was coming to my university and marching. I miss the people in my band, but I definitely don't miss high school.

I'm kinda depressed, but I'm going to see these exact same people in school next week even though band is over. And I'm definitely going to be one of those nerds who comes back to visit their old band at their practices. But I also have college band to look forward to. That will be interesting.
