It was her turn.
This thought held both happiness and apprehension in Halia's mind. She knew foaling was painful, having helped her own mother with her second time. And yet...these foals would be worth it. Kaishara had taught her that, among many other things. Turning her head, Halia nudged at a belly that was just beginning to become round. Aureate hadn't noticed yet, or had remained silent if he had. Well, he'd notice once she told him. Pulling herself to her feet, she nickered gently, hoping he was still near enough to hear her. "Aure?"

The Knight of the Golden Rose was finding it harder and harder to move away from the Sunset mare... He'd noticed a sort of glow about her of late... Noticed the softness in her eyes, the slight rounding to her belly... He'd wondered, hoped even... But not wanted to say anything... What if he wasn't right? He had a certain knack for putting his hoof in it... And if holding off asking would keep him out of trouble for a little bit... The sound of his name had him perking, ears swiveling to catch the sound of his mare's voice. Well then, she didn't sound angry... "I'm here, Halia..." He murmured gently, winding through the trees to return to her. "What do you need, my dear?"

"Only to tell you something, if you'd like to hear it," Halia replied, moving in his direction to nuzzle at his cheek. "I've been feeling a bit...different...lately..." Tilting her head, she looked at him questioningly. "You wouldn't have happened to notice anything different, would you?" There. Maybe that would gauge how much he already suspected, so her words wouldn't be too unneccessarily redundant when she spoke.

"I always want to hear what you have to say..." He smiled, nuzzling her back. The hesitant way she spoke had him tilting his head, considering her. "You seem a bit more gentle, as of late My Love..." He teased. "I don't think you've abused me in a month... Not that I am not grateful..." He tugged at her forelock, mischief dancing in his eyes.

Halia took a deep breath, dark-lidded eyes watching Aureate's face closely for his reaction. "Well then, this may not surprise you too much...I think I'm expecting. And by expecting, yes I do mean what you think I mean." She smiled hesitantly. "At least we have an idea what we're in for?"

"I had wondered, my darling..." He murmured, nuzzling her gently. The news that she was expecting foals made his heart sing. "And yes, I suppose now we do, hmm?" The memory of Kaishara leaping from her basket with eyes full of mischief made him smile. He hadn't been ready for a daughter in the least, but she surely was ready for him! Kai had taken to everything she could learn with a speed that astonished, always wanting to do, see, experience more... "I look forward to welcoming our children into the world..."

"So do I," Halia murmured, reaching up slightly to n** at his ear in an affectionate manner. "I wonder who they'll take after? We could use some more singers in this world, I think...dark and handsome as their father." With a giggle, she tossed her head, causing a long lock of mane to fall over her face. "I bet you're hoping for boys, huh? Kaishara's had you pretty grey-haired lately with the young stallions."

Playfully Aureate ducked his head so she could reach, winking at his lady. "I would like to think that all of them will sing to some degree, after all, everyone in my family does... No one seems to have gotten away with it..." He chuckled, nudging her. "What will you do if we get all girls, shining things like their lovely mother? You would rejoice, I imagine... I'm sure it would keep you amused to watch me chase around fillys -worrying all the time- keeping them away from all the wild-eyed colts roaming the land..." He sighed mournfully. "You will be the death of me."
