 Since I'm new to Harvest Moon, I was wondering... Which game is the best in your opinion? I only have Island of Happiness, and I love it, but I've heard that there are better ones.
So discuss! Which game is the best?
BTW, I have a DS, Gamecube and PS2, so I can buy any on those three systems. smile

There's a lot that I like... but I'd have to say...
Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town. It's for GBA.
There's SO much to do. I luff it. And I play for a long time compared to other games. O___O
I haven't played much of Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness to call it the "best",
and I'm still saving up for Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility for Wii. Lol.

I've only played: A Wonderful Life, Another Wonderful Life, Magic Melody(or whatever), and DS Cute. So far, I think AWL is the best. It's for ps2 and gamecube. I'm getting a DS soon, and a psp. So, I'm gonna try to buy all of them. (Except ToT, b/c I don't have a Wii.)

It really depends. I've played so many, I don't know which ones to recommend to you. >.< My personal favorite traditional Harvest Moon is Harvest Moon 3 because it was my first. XP
Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town was an excellent game, I must say. I loved it very much. heart Definitely worth the money. Just be careful, I think there's a group of bad copies in circulation. You know, just seriously glitched games compared to the rest. ~shiver~ My cousin had one, it was terrible. So terrible, I gave her my second copy of the game. So just be careful with that one.
Harvest Moon DS Cute is another good one. There are soo many choices for marriage if you're interested in that. And marrying Mineral Town boys won't end the game.
For a console system, I enjoy Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life was good. I still haven't gotten Tartan yet. ~sets him on fire~ But it was still good, I liked it over the girl version Another Wonderful Life. There are two versions of A Wonderful Life: A GameCube version and a PS2 version. I think there's more in the PS2 version. I liked Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland too. If you're not into the marriage part of Harvest Moon, go for that. The characters are BEAUTIFUL in game! It's gorgeous! A Wonderful Life has beautiful scenery, but Save the Homeland has beautiful characters. Too bad they couldn't combine...
Then there's the Harvest Moons with a twist. Rune Factory and Innocent Life. In Rune Factory, its a Medieval setting where you fight and befriends monsters in addition to farm work. And the character art was beautiful in that too. Innocent life appeared to be more realistically drawn and took place in the future. I think the main character was a robot, but I've yet to play it. I don't think you can marry in that one. So if you want a Harvest Moon, but with a twist, go for one of those.

My personal fave is Tree of Tranquility but you don't have a wii but my second fave would probaly be Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life its pretty simple but its really fun!

I personally like Magical Melody. Cute graphics and pretty enjoyable. There are also great choices for the eligible marriage candidates

Personally, I liked Magical Melody. I rented it from a video store and I got really far until I had to bring it back. This was like last year though, and I haven't bought the new one yet so I don't know...

...I wouldn't really describe any of the harvest moon guys as hot...... but Harvest moon ds Cute, has a really cute guy in it, Tree of tranquility has some cute ones, maybe even a hot one or two. The game boy advanced one. (I think it is called, More friends of mineral town) Has some.
over all I liked the 64 harvest moon alot, the festivals were alot of fun and you could get drunk and pass out, lol that game was amazing and it had alot to do in it as well.

You get Tartan in the 2nd Chapter is summer, I think.
I think you have to befriend Takakura though. I'm not sure.
As for the "hottest" guys. I don't really know your definiton of "hot". Lol.
In Magical Melody, there are many eligible bachelors. 11 of them actually.
I STILL didn't get Tree of Tranquility nor did I unlock all the villagers of Island of Happiness ( trying to finish Resident Evil. <_<'' ).
But yeah... I like the bachelors in DS Cute, but also the ones in More Friends of Mineral Town.

I'm pretty sure that you have to ship a crop that's like, A-quality and talk to Takakura alot. Then go into his house and you should get him.

I've played many harvest moon games, including the new Island of happiness game. I expected it to be fun, but not the best. And in fact, at first, it was rather discouraging because it is harder than other harvest moons and generally more slow-going. But the more I play, the more it becomes my favorite. You realize more and more that there is so much to do, and It's not too hard once you get the hang of it. smile
