Instead of narrowly-focused grammar elitism, I'd like to expand our elitism just a bit. However, instead of nitpicking details, I'd like to take the people that would be fun to hang out with if you're an intelligent person. Basically, what GGN would have been if we weren't nitpicking the hell out of other people about grammar.

I'd like everyone's thoughts on changing the name and theme of the guild slightly.

From a conversation with Mkvenner, in which he asked 'then the question becomes "why should people come be elitist here, as opposed to over there?"':

Because we're elitist in ways that matter on the internet. Can't convey sentences properly or you're always being an irrational ********? Peace!

Also, by no means should the guild application be anything short of brushing your teeth with steel wool.

Suggestions are welcome (for just about anything.)

One bit of trouble I can think of is Gaia has a tendency (at least for me) to mark guild threads as read if they haven't been updated since I opened my browser...

...That, and I'm sure bunches have stopped checking.

Anyway.

Some things need to be done to make the place lively again, I'd say.

First: Rebrand.

Second: Advertise.

Third: ?

Forth: Profit!

Sure, I'm fine with general literates instead of only super-nitpick literates.

But if we're going to try and revive the guild, we need everyone to be active, especially the mods so that they can remove any trash we may get.

Such as the prime examples who have made several threads in the past few days. >_>

The guild is listed as "Public," so people can post here, even if not in the guild.

Strange, though, that we'd randomly get idiot spammers all of a sudden.

I'm around a lot (which is to say...too much), but if I've got no one to talk to, I forget to check the guild.
