About GasuKan...
GasuKan is a travelling, themed cosplay photoshoot/social gathering that meets in the Seattle area once a month. Our location changes depending on the theme and expected weather conditions, but our home base is considered to be Gasworks Park. Our name originates from that: a play on "Gas(works) Con" and "gas can". Yes, the founder is a dork.

There is no fee to participate, and anyone is welcome to attend. You don't have to follow the theme if you don't want to, and you don't even have to dress up. As I've said, this is largely a social gathering. A lot of us just happen to cosplay and take pictures at it.

About the themes...
Generally, the first theme is intended to set the "mood" for the shoot, while the second is a prop theme, though you can look at it less literally if it suits your purpose. They are open to interpretation and can be ignored at will. About the location...
I'm aware that Edmonds may be a bit far north for some of you, and it may affect your ability to attend this month. With two "local" conventions coming up--Anime Evolution the weekend of the 23rd and Kumori Con the weekend of the 30th--I'm expecting this to be a smaller gathering than our more recent ones have been.

We will be holding an upcoming GK in the South Seattle/Tacoma area, and we're discussing alternating the large, centralized gatherings with "regional meetups": smaller gatherings held in the north, south, Eastside, that will be organized and hosted by the cosplayers and photographers in that area. Each region can pick the date and location that will best suit the needs of the locals. We're getting very large now, and this may help alleviate some issues we've come across; namely, that we're very restricted by our size as to where we can meet. I'll be discussing this in the near future.

Specific information pertaining to this month's location will be released soon, including parking, bus/public transit, and the ferry to Kingston.
