As the morning sun's rays seek their way through the tent flaps, birds in the trees around your camp can be heard singing their BlossomMorning (spring) songs. The dew is cold and has made the sides of the tent damp and wet. What is left of last night's fire is now only but memories and coals smoldering in the crude firepit.

After breaking camp you make what is left of the final leg out of the Forest of Dindel. It took you many a 10-day (basically 2 weeks) to traverse this eminse woodland, the only remenants of a time long ago before the time of a human kingdom. You have near no food, water, or any other supplies for your journey, and are in dire need to restock.

By high sun (noon) time you finally can spot the edge of the forest and can see what is obviously a well traveled dirt path leading of to the distance. All around the dirt path it seems there is nothing but grass covered flatlands. The wind blows, moving the grass in a fashion of waves to the ocean.

Shortly as you travel down the path and you come upon a fork in the road. One path leading in the direction of the rising sun (east {forward}), one to the left (north), and one to the right (south). A semi-worn wooden sign post is the only resident of this seemingly barren prairie. According to the sign the way to the North is a small town known as Elel, which is well known for it being at the base of a mountain with a shrine dedicated to a dragon guardian. To the East is the small ocean of Chappegat, as the South leads to a small mining vacility that has long been abandoned since the duke Awase was murdered in his tower located nearby.

Now it has come my adventurers... Which path do you wish to take?

((Hope this is descriptive enough of a first post. I'll be typing narrative in this fashion to help make it clear what is story, and what is action. The underlined "locations and names" will come in to effect later, but for now they are to make it easier for reference when the need comes. I'll await for your answers my Adventurers.))

Leading the way, Beren stops to look at the sign and think a moment upon their situation. "Well, we could rule out the east as I don't think we really need to go to the ocean...unless there is a town there for some good fish. Mmm...fish... We could go to the south...I heard there was a murder there. Maybe we could check it out and see if there was a reason. Though, we could go to the mountains, there might a village with dragon shamans, just watch out for their halacious breaths!" Beren laughs at his small joke, no matter how horrible it was to everyone else.

(Dude! Awesome campaign opening/welcome thing. Did you make it?)

(BTW, very nice and detailed first post. biggrin )

Using one of his lanky arms to shade his eyes, Skeebo follows the gnome (Savindus, I thought your gnomes name was Seebo something or another?) into the warmth of the sun's rays. "Our rations are nearly gone, we must reach the nearest town before we go site-seeing." Skeebo says walking up to stand beside the gnome. "I saw we take to the mountains and head for Elel." His normally ruddy red color fur had already begun to show the signs of travel, having taken on a shade of brown the color of dirt.

As you stand under the sign, from off in the distance a traveling halfling farmer rides on a wagon pulled by his faithful team of dogs. Coming from the south he rides in your direction, his wagon filled with produce most likely to be sold in town. As he nears you you notice that he looks ragged and weak from what can only be unrest and trouble brought upon him.

Nearing the fork, he looks up from under his broad straw hat and takes notice of you. He tugs on the reigns and starts to "nicker" at the dogs to come to a stop. Looking down from wagon (yes down, the wagon gives him a full head height above you) and eyes all of you.

"Goin' ter Elel? I be on me way meself ter deliver these here fruit. If ye be interested, I could take ye ter town.

Points to the back of the wagon, brimming with what looks to be apples and even oranges.

Been havn' bandit trouble ye see, and I would mighty like havin' a few guards ter protect me the rest of the way. They been pesterin' me for mighty a 20-day now, and it don't help that they be threatenin' a toll ter ride by 'em and all. What be yer reason to be headin' ter Elel? From what me be hearing, mighty strange things have been happenin' there.

The dogs start sniffing the air and seem to be paying some amount of attention towards Brendon

(What dogs thinking = 'meat, meat, meat... dead meat...' Lol, I didnt even have to think about that.)

"In return for a ride, we gladly accept!" Skeebo says, hooting happily as he climbed aboard the wagon (easily hanging on wherever was open due to having monkey like hands and feet).

"We have a need to restock our rations, so Elel seemed the best bet." Skeebo says, replying to the farmers question. "Strange things are nothing new when you are dealing with dragon shamans..."

Ignoring the dogs, Brendon hops onto the with grace. Dimitri on the other hand, fails to keep even one foot on the wagon for more than a few seconds. With a pleading look towards the riders in the wagon, Brendon lets out a sigh before offering a hand to Dimitri. question "Thanks Brendon! Hey mister, would it be okay if I get a piece of fruit from back here to eat? I getting really hungry. But ya know, it's kinda dumb to ask now, but what's this dragon shaman everyone is talking about?" question

The farmer pays no heed to his canines as the adventurers climb on board. Looking towards Skeebo the farmer replies...

Elel be te best choice. Not'ing around here ter restock but lonely farmers like meself. Ye see te fishin' village was deserted since the strange attacks by cloaked figures, not Dragon shamans. Whoev'r told ye that ter be Dragon shamans here? We havn't had 'em er seen 'em since 'ld Awase banished t'em around 10 er so years b'fore his death, around 50 years ago me thinks.

Turning to look at Brendon and Dimitri...

Only a few, mind ye I make a living of of me sellings and can't be giving out free samples day in and day out. Just make sure w'en we make it to town ye tell ever'one how good they be.

And ter answer yer question Dragon Shamans were folk that worshipped dragons instead of gods like the rest of us common and normal folk. Me's think the only one anywhere nears here is the one in the mountain shrine by Elel. Don't hear much from him now a days. Mayor won't have his type of worship in town ye know.

Now hurry's it up lad!
Looking at Beren Don't have all day ter lolly gag and wait for SnowTwilight (winter) to fall upon us!

And sure enough, the sun has already started its descent from the heavens and falling to return to rest with the land.

"Shows how much I know. I'm not even 10 years old." Skeebo says with a shrug (Hadoozes age slow and only live to be about 20 years old.) as one of his free limbs quested back into the wagon and nabbed an orange.

"Come on Beren..." Skeebo says, pulling the gnome paladin up into the wagon. (Sry about controlling ya Sanvidus, just wanted to make sure we keep this campaign moving and active.)

Ya'll ready ter get 'er a going? Well then, let's get 'er a GOING! blaugh

The farmer cracks his whips loud enough to jolt a sleeping squirrel hiding amongst the apple. The squirrel so scared by the crack it jumps practically 10ft into the air, before it spreads it's arms out and seems to fly away in the general direction of north east.

Noticing the critter fly off the farmer practically pulls over to start throwing apples at it for trying to make off with a free meal, but decides against wasting his precious apples.

-Later that same day-

Night has fallen before you make to stone wall stretching as far as the mountians to the west, and disappearing to the east. As the wagon pulls up to the iron bared gate knights wearing crude armor step up to inspect the wagon.

HALT!! What is your business here at the Town of Elel? be forewarned we have spells to tell if your lying, and trained archerers aiming for your adam's apple as we speak. Bellows a reasonably veteran looking soldier. Upon his head he wears a gold tinted plum feather and the others seem to quake at his orders.
