Tossing her head, curly mane whipping in the wind, the sunset and ocean coloured mare pranced along the sand, hooves skittering away as the lazy waves rushed up the beach, only to flee as the young mare chased them back down again. With a squeal she leapt away from a larger-than-usual breaker, laughing as the foam soaked her feathers for the umpteenth time.
Skittering back up the beach she pranced along at the high-tide mark where the sand was dry. This was a wonderful time! The sun was high above, beaming down to warm her blue coat, the water was cool and crisp, the salt breeze ruffling her coat which had started to thicken as winter slowly approached. She knew the days would soon shorten and get cooler, but for the time being, such thoughts were far from her mind as she played along the ocean's edge, knowing her family were close by.
Pausing in her hijinks she turned and gazed up back along the sands, her zigzaging hoofprints partly washed away where she had teased the waves in her game.

Warm rays beat down on the sun kissed Hiruki. Silently, he lay on his side, his hair almost covered from the sand in which he lounged. The blaze of the sun could still be seen shining brightly behind his closed eyes. Sleep was beckoning him with the combination of the heat, and the lull of the waves constant to and fro rhythm.
A small disruption in the tides sound made one of his ears tilt to life. Half unheard, he paid it no mind till his ears caught the gentle sound again. Slightly lifting his head, he glanced toward the shore. The sun had shone on his eyelids for too long, and it took a moment for the scene to come into focus. He could make out the blur of blue to be one of his sisters. They both looked similar, but after his eyes focused more, it was clearly Hakumei.
Lifting his head up further, his mane emerged from it's sandy bead. With a stretch and a few pops, he rose to his feet. The sand covered one side of his body, yet he didn't shake it off. He loved the feel of the sand, having grown up here.
Slowly, he walked after his sister, leaving a trail of hooveprints next to hers.

The vivid colours of her brothers coat caught her attention as he rose from his resting place and turned towards her. A warm smile curled across her muzzle as she skittered her rear end round to face him. The sand caught in his butter yellow feathers, seeming to make him appear as if made from the very beach itself. The illusion helped by the glittering sanddust still covering his side, a shimmering following him as it fell free with his movements.
Giggling she suddenly struck out in a high-stepping trot, closing the distance between them swiftly. The young mare seemed to almost float above the ground like the dying light of day appeared to hover over the horizon, never quiet touching the waves above which it lingered. Tossing her oceanic curls from her face the mare glided to a halt, haunches swinging round till she was along side her taller sibling, matching her step to his own.
"Onee-san." She beamed, golden moon-eyes playful as she nudged her shoulder against his own. "So you decided to wake?" She teased him softly, head lifting to catch one of the stallion's sapphire curls in her teeth for a light tug.
