Another day in the Pride Lands. The same as the last, and the same as the next, no doubt, but Uidan Fyja wasn't concerned. From where he sat atop his usual rock, he could watch his siblings run and play. Occasionally he would call down to one or the other, but otherwise h remained nearly as till as the stone on which he perched. His family had yet to be disturbed. It seemed where they were was a safe place, and they rarely saw anyone. He wondered how things would go on the day they finally were forced into contact with the locals. Did his parents want to be found? Would they be sent away again? He was troubled by it, but accepted that there was little he could do to help one way or the other.
As it was though, he could scout. A cub was more vulnerable, true, but the Pride Lands were supposed to be a kindly lot, right? At worst he might simply be 'adopted' or somesuch...A young one like him couldn't be blamed for wandering to far. With a last look at this siblings (they were all getting along it seemed, to his pleasure) he slid down from his seat and went off a ways into the brush. He scented a few plants and stalked and caught a small insect, which he ate. Nothing really interesting...until he caught a whiff of something unfamiliar. It was big, he could guess..but somehow it didn't smell...well it wasn't exactly a lion's scent.
Kairi had found herself following the urge to return home. Through word of mouth, she heard both her childhood friends were HOME. At long last. Of course...the fact they'd gotten home before she found them irked her a bit. She sighed and flopped down in the long grasses. Perhaps it was time for a rest. She'd been traveling nearly nonstop for two days. Oh...they were going to get an earful when she got home. But for now...
For now, she wanted to nap. And then hunt. Her stomach reminded her that her last meal had not been enough for as hard as she'd been pushing herself.
