The little mare yawned softly to herself as she shifted her weight from one hoof to the other and gave a lazy, half asleep shake of her mane.
The autumn season had well and truly coloured her homeland along the edge of the ocean.. the trees that stood on the high-ground were a mix of dark evergreens, golds and blazing reds, a mix of colour that always managed to remind her of the sunsets they were sometimes gifted with on the most clear of eves.. and then the moon that rose, full and such a vivid orange that her mother had always compared it to the young filly's own eyes.
Smiling softly she evened her weight out as she lifted her head, gaze directed upwards at the doming blue of the skies above. Evening would be along soon.. the days were growing shorter as the warmth slowly seeped from the land. But for now, this short time.. Hakumei found the world around her as perfect as nature could be.
A warm smile touched her muzzle as she glanced along the beach to where her family were. Though she couldn’t see them just then, she knew they were there.. close by, a more wonderful group of soquili could not be found.

It had been some time since the armoured stallion had met any others of his kind in these lands. But that was no surprise to him. He tended to be a bit of a loner. He had found that his appearance was strange to some that lived in these lands. Instead of repeating his story about where he had come from and why he was now here, he found that it was easier to keep more to himself. But he did miss the companionship at times. He considered himself a conversationalist and that was something that you couldn't really be on your own. So tonight he sought out the company of another.
He had no destination in mind. He let his feet take him where they wanted to. He soon found himself along a shoreline that presented a beautiful sunset. He smiled, feeling the low sun warm his face. This world truly was a beautiful place...

Delicate ears flicked as the sounds of an unfamiliar hoofstep reached the young mare. Gathering her half-asleep self she shook her mane from her eyes and turned her slender head towards the direction of the sound.
Who was around so close to home?
Ever curious the mare stepped out, small hooves leaving not a single print upon the sands as she walked along with a smooth, graceful stride. Legs swinging freely, she lifted her head, scenting the wind coming in off the ocean, the salty spray that was home to her. Humming happily under her breath she blinked suddenly, spotting something that wasn’t green, brown or the sandy beige, just up ahead.
It was a soquili.. but so colourful! A stallion judging from the movements. She knew she was completely safe, with her family just up the beach. So she resumed her graceful pace, nearing the stranger.
Halting a little ways in front of him she stood tall, ears pricked with curiosity. "Greetings stranger." She nickered, her voice smooth and flowing, as light as the white foam a top the wave crests.

He turned his attention from the sunset as he heard the voice of another. He wasn't nervous about it at all. He could tell from the tone in the mare's voice that she meant no harm. He turned his head, looking for the source of the voice and smiled kindly as he caught sight of a young mare. She was quite a beautiful one at that. She well resembled the sunset that he had just been looking at. He looked into her beautiful yellow eyes and smiled, bowing his head gently.
"Hello there. My name is Zian. I do hope I'm not intruding on anything?"

((Sorry!!!! My muse ran away and then RL caught me. I recaptured her though and I'd love to continue this. <3 ))
Smiling in return she bobbed her own head gracefully. "Of course not. I was only enjoying the evening views.. as I think you might be?" She asked, head tilting with a polite yet playful smile, motioning to the sunset glowing warmly on the horizon with her muzzle.
Sparing the stunning skyscape a look for a moment, she soon turned back to the stallion, closing the distance so they could talk more comfortably since he certainly didn't seem like a threat. "My name is Hakumei, I live here with my family. I have to say, I haven't seen you around here before, are you a traveller?" Delicate ears pricked forwards, golden eyes bright and friendly.

He also looked in the direction of the sunset and smiled.
"Yes, indeed. I was just taking a walk and could not keep myself away from this wonderful sight. Such beautiful sunsets are rare."
He smiled as he turned back to her, listening.
"Ah, you are very observant. I'm not so much a traveller as I am a loner. I tend to spend most of my time alone, but decided that I might seek out the company of another tonight. My name is Zian, by the way. It is very nice to meet you, Hakumei."
