"I'm gunna getcha little fishie! I'm gunna getcha little fishie! I'm gunna eatcha little fishie! So that you may fill my empty tum~my!"
The weird little tune filled the old temples' courtyard as dirt went flying over low walls, through holes, and in the general direction of the large dirt pile near the edge of hole. Talons scraped at, pulled out and fling a large stone obstruction out of the way before dirt went flying in all directions again as what looked like a large constrictor continued to make the large hole even bigger.
Pausing in his work, golden-yellow eyes blinked a few times before the male P'an-lun pulled himself out of his hole and shook away the dirt clinging to his mane and scales. "Okay...I think i'm almost done!" Licking his lips at the thought of finally having fish after all these months, Toshihiro clamored over to and straight up a redwood so he could enjoy some fruit and survive his land in peace. "Just think, Valin! Soon, we'll finally have a bit of water here!" He grinned at his little monkey friend, who jumped down and chittered in reply.
Toshihiro laughed and plucked the fruit offered to him, taking a large bite and chewing. Work was hard, but wasn't the reward worth it in the end?

"Get down from there, Sofiel! You're going to fall and Xai will have my head," Ace growled, peering up at the Pan'lun, who was balancing on a rather high tree branch. Sofiel was standing up on the tree branch, looking around from its tall height. It was a lovely view, trees stretched on for, what seemed like, forever. Sofiel sent an irritated glance down at Ace. "You should come up here, Ace. It's beautiful." She yelled, knowing fully that the Coyote wouldn't dare attempt to climb a tree. The farthest he'd get was the first branch, then he'd fall back down to the ground soon after. Glaring, Ace snarled at her. "Come down now." he commanded, hoping that she would listen to him for once. Sighing, Sofiel concentrated on her task once again. Her golden eyes, a trait that she gotten from her father, searched the Forrest of trees. She was looking for somewhere to go. Somewhere interesting. Nothing exciting had happened to them yet, and she wanted to have some fun. 'There!' her eyes had spotted, what looked to be, ruins. Smiling at her find, Sofiel jumped down from branch to branch, mentally giggling when she heard that Ace wasn't breathing, until she reached the ground. She sent her companion a flash of a smile. "I found where we're going, Ace. So don't be too mad at me, 'kay?" Sofiel said before heading off in the direction of the Ruins. After a short trek, they reached the ruins. Nothing eventful had happened along the way, lest you count a swarm of monkeys throwing their poo at Ace for snarling in warning at them. Sofiel had just stood back laughing at her favorite Coyote's yelps when he was unfortunately hit. They had taken a quick bath in a stream, not too far off of their path, so that Ace could clean up. Now, they were entering, what seemed to be Ancient ruins. Stones were cracked, and most of the pillars had fallen. "It looks deserted." Sofiel mummbled, observing a tall doorway leading below. She smirked down at Ace. "I wonder if it really is," And then she took off, into the dark doorway. Leaving Ace alone, up above.

Toshihiro had zonked out in the tree about a hour or so before Sofiel and Ace made their appearance and went into the temple, so he was completely oblivious to everything; Valin, on the otherhand, was not, he had been wide awake at the time. The loyal critter knew how much his friend hated females and had paniced as such when one decided to make their home a exploration mission. Flicking his tail, the burrowing monkey jumped onto Toshihiro's back and chittered like a mad creature. Recieving no reply except the usual loud snores, Valin scowled and tried the next level in their alarm clock system: Ear Pulling. Grabbing the said object in his forepaws, Valin yanked and tugged as hard as he could...sadly there was only so much a small monkey like himself could do against a heavy sleeper like Toshihiro. Okay, next level: Ear biting! It worked like a charm, especially when you have sharp teeth made for biting into tough things. Toshihiro jolted out of slumber-land with a loud yelp before glaring down at his furry friend. "Valin?! What the heck?! I was sleeping...." Valing simply bounced up and down, pointing at the ruins' entrance while chattering what had happened. "Someone is in our home?" That got Toshihiro a little upset (Valin didn't DARE mention what gender the intruder had been), visitors were suppose to introduce themselves first! With a huff, the male P'an Lun climbed down the tree and made a beeline towards his home with full intentions of giving the visitor a piece of his mind; Valin, on the otherhand while clinging to his friends' back, prayed that his serpent companion would not explode...he liked the ruins...

Sofiel peered around, what looked to be, the main hall. It was somewhat dusty, as expected from ruins. Sunlight lit the room through holes in the ceiling, lighting up the room enough so that she could see perfectly. What looked to be a bed lay near the far wall. Sofiel's eyes lit up with excitement. "Some one lives here!" she squealed out, almost skipping over to the bed. She observed it with a curious look on her face. It was made of many silks, different kinds of leaves, and a few stray pillows. She poked one of the silk sheets with her paw, testing the material with her claws. "It's soo soft," she smiled, stepping onto the bed. Sofiel laid down, rolling onto her back so that she could look up at the ceiling. A swirly pattern stretched across the ceiling and surrounded a carved sunflower. The sunflower was at the middle of the ceiling, and was carved outwards, hanging slightly downwards. With a smile still upon her face, Sofiel closed her golden eyes. The feeling of silk beneath her warm body was all she felt as she drifted off to sleep.
Ace sighed, looking down into the dark entrance way. He was currently having a inner battle with himself. Ace had a problem. He was deathly afraid of the dark. And Sofiel knew that, for sure, when she had taken off running. Frowning, Ace leaned against a crumbling pillar. 'I'll wait,' he thought to himself, closing his minty green eyes. "She'll have to come out sometime," he mumbled.

Valin had gone in ahead of Toshihiro via the holes in the ceiling just as his dragon friend reached the doorway of the entrance hall. Chittering, the small burrowing monkey bounded from statue to statue and paused on one of the stone benches scattered about. There. There was the intruder! And.... She was sleeping on Toshihiro's BED?! Poor Valin had to get her off before his friend decided to make an appearance! Bounding over, the monkey climbed up and perched by Sofields' head; he made an angry noise and grabbed one of her ears before proceeding to pull as hard as he could. He wasn't gunna be happy about this and one top of things now: The female was using HIS pillow for a headrest! Out of all the ones thrown about, why did his pillow wind up as the headrest?! Valin continued pulling while chattering at Sofiel to wake up.
In the meantime, Toshihiro had seen Ace lingering near the entrance hall when a devious idea sprang up in the back of his brain. Evil grin forming, Toshihiro quitely snuck up behind the coyote while alllowing a little of saliva to form in his mouth. Reaching the red canine, the serpent reared up and hissed at Ace with an evil gleam in his golden-yellow eyes while saliva started dripping from his fangs. "Hm....I wonder?" Toshihiro gave a mental laugh as a wicked smile touched his face. "How fast can dinner run?"

Ace's eyes snapped open at the voice above him. '....Lunch?' Ace gulped loudly, looking up at the Pan'lun that stood -teeth bared- before him. Instincts quickly clicked in. Ace sprinted, as fast as his furry legs could take him, towards the only 'hiding place' he could think of... the dark entrance. 'Sofiel!' Ace thought of the teenage dragon, causing him to hesitate in his flee. 'I can't lead this monster to her...' Ace took off running again at the sound of heavy footsteps behind him. 'Though Sofiel has a better chance of losing this predator then I,' Ace ran until he entered a sunlit room. His green eyes snapped over to the far wall of the room, where he found a monkey screaming and biting on his snoring master's ear. Unsurprisingly to Ace, Sofiel was still sleeping like the dead, ignorant with everything going on around her. "Squealing and nipping at her ear won't get you anywhere...' Ace spoke to the monkey, approaching it slowly.

Toshihiro, chasing after the coyote, decided to show some pity to the furry canine and took off down a different hallway towards the drawing room in the back. He chuckled at the image of the creatures' expression when he found Toshihiro standing behind him; that had been an interesting prank but it would eat away at his guilt if he didn't go back and apologize. Besides, Toshihiro didn't like coyote meat. It was too stringy and tough.
Valin started at the sudden voice and glared at Ace when he made his appearance. Jumping down, the small monkey pleaded with the coyote familiar to get his friend away from their home before Toshihiro decided to come in. He was very careful NOT to mention the serpents'.....flaw with females during his paniced chattering.

Ace was surprised with the Monkey's concern for Sofiel. 'He wants me to take her and leave? Was that why he was trying to wake her up, because he knew that a dangerous Pan'lun took keep here?' Ace grinned at the monkey gratefully. "Thank you for trying to get my mistress out of here, though I'm afraid that she will not wake up by your antics. You see..." Ace walked over to Sofiel and nipped on her ear. "She won't wake just by a small amount of pain and lots of noise. You must... shock her awake." A small smirk crept up on his face. He crouched down to the floor and positioned his body facing Sofiel. He wagged his butt in the air before hopping onto his slumbering mistress.
A loud scream erupted from her mouth, as she rolled off of the bed and onto the cold stone floor. Her eyes were bright and alert as she looked around her. "Where...?" Her mouth closed and eyes narrowed at the sight and sound of Ace howling with laughter and rolling around in the place that she had been sleeping in moments before. "Ace," Sofiel growled out, causing her familiar to halt his laughter, though the amusement still shined brightly in his eyes.

Valin had just been about to comment when the sudden scream and the teenage Pan'Lun bolting upwards caused the tiny monkey to scream himself; paniced, the little creature jumped around the room for a few moments before bolting through the doorway and out into the hall while crying out for his master.
Toshihiro, thankfully, had heard the scream and was about halfway down the dark hallway when he bumped into Valin. Tossing the creature onto his head with pausing to slow down, the snake-colored Pan'lun burst into his bedroom and was about to order whoever was in here out when he spied Sofiel and Ace.
He shivered and got wide-eyed at the sight of the female Pan'lun, trying to keep his panic under control while taking a few steps back. It's a female....a female....nonononono.....

Sofiel turned her head around to stare at the Pan'lun that had just rushed in the room. She was about to open her mouth to greet him, when she saw the look on him face. Tilting her head, she couldn't help but to be curious at the way he was looking at her, wide eyed. Glancing over at Ace, she was about to ask him what could possibly be wrong with the male, when she found that Ace was frozen in his spot on the bed. His eyes were locked on the other Pan'lun and he was whimpering quietly under his breath. 'Ace?' Blinking, Sofiel turned her attention back at the Pan'lun, who had a similar look on his face. 'What's wrong with him?' Sofiel glanced down at her body. 'I don't look scary. Heck, I'm just a teenager! What would a adult male be afraid of me for?' Hesitating for a split second, Sofiel got up from her spot on the stone floor and walked towards the Pan'lun slowly. "My name is Sofiel," she paused, seeing his eyes widen, "What's your name?"
Ace gazed at the snake like Pan'lun in fear. 'Oh no, he found us! We're too late to escape.' Ace could feel himself shivering, and he couldn't help but to whimper. 'I have to get Sofiel out of here, no matter what!' glancing over to his side, Ace almost let out a howl in frustration. 'Where did she-' Pausing, Ace heard Sofiel speak to the monster. 'No! Foolish girl,' Ace stepped forwards with a shaking paw, 'He'll eat you alive, escape while you still can'

Nonononono....stay away! Don't come closer! Seriously! Don't get near me!
These thoughts ran in a rampage around and round in his mind as flashbacks of his childhood flared up in the back of his mind. They controlled his actions like he was a simple puppet. Stepping back for every step Sofiel took towards him, Toshihiro stared at her for a few second with frightened gold/yellow eyes.
Next thing poor Valin, he was sent flying to the ground when his master suddenly spun around and bolted like the demons of Hell were nipping at his tail. The burrowing monkey spang up and screeched, but Toshi was already gone with his heavy footsteps fading.
"......................"
The poor creature just stood there with his tail drooping sadly. His master's fear had gotten the better of him....again.

Sofiel stood shocked at what had just happened. She heard Ace give out a joyful Bark at the sight of the large painter running away. Her eyes where wide as she tried to find a reason as to why the male Pan'lun would run from her. 'Maybe he just doesn't like other Painters. Maybe he's never seen someone like me? He couldn't have thought that I was going to hurt him, could he? I'd never do that,' Sofiel chewed on her lower lip, a habit that she developed early in her teen years. Her brother, Rampel, always said that she had a tendency to chew her lip when she was in trouble, confused, or frustrated. 'I don't get it. Why did he leave?' Sofiel stared down at the heartbroken monkey. 'He didn't even take his companion with him? Now that's just not right. Look at how sad the creature is,' her eyes narrowed. "Not even that annoying monkey deserves that treatment. I'm going to give him a piece of my mind,' Frowning, Sofiel took off after the male. Determined to find him, she ignored Ace when he cried out behind her. Ace would catch up sooner or later. He always did.

Toshihiro had take shelter in the tallest redwood his territory offered, keeping himself carefully hidden among the leaves and branches. He flicked his tail ever so slightly, a habit he had built up to display fear or irritation and right now...
It was a little bit of both.
Honestly, despite his fear/dislike of females, Toshihiro was hoping that he would not have to fight. Maybe the crimson female would leave without a need to search for him?
Back in the bedroom, Valin decided to spill the beans. With a chittering, he bounced up and down to get Ace's attention before climbing onto his back. Using the mind-link he rarely used for conversations, the burrowing monkey told the coyote WHY Toshihiro had fled...and spoke about why he was the way he was.

The hallway led Sofiel out of the ruins and into the forest. She searched around the area for the runaway Pan'lun, still intent to give him a piece of her mind. 'He couldn't have run far,' she thought, taking to the skies to find him. Golden eyes looked around the area above and around the ruin's exit. If he had still been running from her, she would have found him by now. Since from up there she could see almost everything. 'Besides the things that the tree's leaves cover,'. Sofiel felt something click in her mind, and a small unsure smirk fitted itself onto her face. She flew down, so that she was body level with the tops of the trees. "I might just have to scare him out," she murmured, running her claws across the tops.
Ace stared at the monkey, speechless as it told him of the Pan'lun -Toshi, Ace found out what his name is-, and his horrific past. Ace swallowed loudly once the monkey ended it's speach. "You... You don't think that he'd hurt her, would you?" The thought of Sofiel getting injured by a frightened male Pan'lun, who was almost double her size, scared Ace half to death.

Toshihiro squawked in panic when Sofiel flew past, her claws just grazing the horns on his head. He trembled and clung to the tree with all of his strength, causing his claws to dig deep into the thick wood.
He needed to stay calm, she would eventually go away! She had to! He swallowed and cringed slightly.
Valin bounced up and down, shaking his head "no". Despite how scared Toshihiro would get, he would never raise a claw against another. He had to get to his master though! With a light screech, Valin took off down the path Sofiel and his master has taken beforehand. He could care less if Ace chose to follow or not.
