Tae-bo was something that Weylin had picked up after realizing what had happened to him that night on the fire escape. He practiced in the city part every Saturday and Sunday morning before work. It helped him concentrate, focus his energy so he didn't accidentally hurt anyone. Sometimes his powers had a tendency to work on their own. It wasn't usually a problem, but he wanted to make sure nothing serious ever happened.

As he moved the ground became smooth under his feet. No gofer holes or sudden bumps for him to trip over. A breeze tossed his red hair about and he blew it out of his face in annoyance. No matter how many clips he used he could not keep it out of his face for more than five minutes. Having control over the wind would have been more useful, but he wasn't going to complain.

Weylin did not think of himself as a super hero. Those were the fodder of cheep comics, wearing terrible spandex outfits. No self respecting gay man would ever be caught in something like that. Besides, real life wasn't like comics. There were not super villains out to destroy the world every other week. The most 'super hero' thing Weylin had ever done was to cause a speed bump which hadn't been there before to derail a high speed chase while walking to work.

He supposed that if a super villain were to ever show up he might feel obliged to do something about it, but he was still hoping it would never happen.

An alarm went off on Weylin's watch, and he stopped half way through a move to look at it. He cursed rather loudly, and reached down to pick up his bag. The martial arts exercises may have helped him to concentrate, but they also helped him to loose track of time. Now he was probably going to be late for work.

Slinging his bag over a shoulder, the young man started running across the grass, dodging around anyone who happened to get in the way, yelling 'sorry's and 'excuse me's as he went. He did not bother even trying to run on the sidewalk, much to the chagrin of some of the people he narrowly missed. It was too hard to move pavement when he was preoccupied, and he didn't want to trip, so he walked on the open ground whenever possible. Given the choice he probably would have moved out of the big city and into the country; or at least somewhere with a back yard. Working minimum wage, though, that wasn't possible.

Ian layed in the grass in some nondescript part of the city. It was quiet here, and the grass was still slightly wet from dew. His eyes were closed and most people would assume he was sleeping. But in fact, his mind was racing. He had come to the conclusion that he was going to destroy the 'evil' within the city. Unfortunately, he was now noting how difficult it was to narrow down what true evil was. The spectrum was so broad and his personal definition fit nearly every living being as evil.

Ian knew better than to care about the vermin who walked to their cars every day. Who kissed their families that they lied to day in and day out goodbye. Everyone had evil tendancies that they fought every moment of their lives. Most people, in one way or another, gave into those urges, even the slightest bit. The more Ian dwelled on the thought of human nature, the more his decision was being made for him, or at least that was what he believed.

The world was suffering already. And Ian knew he was going to stop it. He also knew he couldn't judge every soul in the world one by one. But he also knew he couldn't just plainly destroy the world, either. This was the dilemma he had found himself in, and this is what he contemplated every day before work, in this very spot. He was growing rather impatient since he couldn't figure out how to solve this problem. Now that he finally had the ability for a fighting effort to destroy the world... he couldn't bring himself to do it.

He sighed, and rolled over. How am I to do this? he pondered. This same question kept coming up, and yet he still didn't have an answer for it. He pulled his long, sleek black hair under his head to create a semi-pillow underneath him. I need to make my move to set everything in motion.... A plan was slowly forming in his mind.

Four blocks through the city to the cafe where Weylin worked six days a week. He just barely made it in time today because the traffic lights had be kind to him today. Powers over something other than the Earth would have been far more useful for him, but considering this was more than what most people got Weylin was not going to complain.

He got the usual 'don't be late because I won't cover for you' lecture from the waiter he was taking over for. For the most part Weylin just waved it off. He received that lecture at least once a week. Sometimes he actually was late, but today he had at least one minute to spare. The patrons of the cafe could wait a few minutes for their food while he changed his clothes and washed his hands. It wasn't as though this was a white tablecloth affair.

Ian sighed again and stood up. Brushing himself off, he started to head towards his office in the dead center of town. If he was going to destroy the city, he was definately going to start there. He wasn't the top dog at the psychiatry clinic, but he was a soon to be share holder. One of the men were retiring and giving his spot to Ian. It was the first good news Ian had recieved in quite some time. He was then told not even five minutes later, that the other owner of the business would die before he allowed Ian even a foot print into the business legalities.

Ian passed a small cafe as he did every day. He's been in it a few times, but normally he ended up with an incompetent red headed waiter. Ian didn't have time to waste on a late employee before work. He had another cafe in mind that was down the street some. He walked there instead. This other Cafe, the Ruben, wasn't as fancy as some, but it was the best cafe on the west side of the city.

Weylin was actually a fairly good waiter once he got into the swing of things. Lateness aside he fell into the routine of the cafe quickly and easily. But he had been working there for over a year now. It was almost second nature. The regulars new him, and if their food was late they knew it was because Weylin was late to work again and usually they waited patiently.

The young man enjoyed his job. He might have enjoyed it more if he could manage to be early now and then, but at the moment it was all he could ask for. With no college education there was little more Weylin was capable of doing.

When Ian entered the cafe, he ordered his usual. He didn't even have to wait long before the waiter came back out with his food. Ian normally sat in a corner, by himself. He knew none of the waiters would bother him, and so he was left to his own thoughts. His mind was no longer working on destroying the city, but rather, on a few of his patients. The only reason he hadn't attacked the city yet was because of the children. He knew there would be no way around harming them. This was something he had to do.

His mind focused on a few of his harder cases. One of his patients were notorious for starting fires in their small elementary. This one also had problems with communication, so he was quite a handful. Another patient had early onset schizophrenia. His hands were full just with these two patients. But day after day he was getting more and more troubled children.

(Hope you don't mind if I skip to the end of the day. It's rather boring when the characters aren't interacting with each other.)

Weylin got off of his shift at 7:30. He hung his apron back on the hook with his name and picked up his bag again. The day had been long and tiring. The weekends always were. Much as he enjoyed his job at the end of a shift he was glad to be free even if he had to walk across town to get back home. His apartment was on the other side of the park.

He did not mind the walk though. Going through the park was one of the highlights of his day. Only in the park did he feel truly connected to the earth because only here was he able to feel the ground without pavement in the way. Wherever he went Weylin was aware of the presence of the Earth which was connected to him, and it comforted him a little to know it was there and ready to do his bidding should he need it.

(lol, that's perfectly fine. I didn't mean to have Ian avoid Weylin like the plague ><)

Ian was already at the park, having got off of his shift an hour earlier. He was finally making up his mind on what he was going to do. Despite the children, and the suffering that would inevitably afflict them, he was going to attack this weekend. He was, honestly enough, too tired to do it now, or he would. He was looking out towards the park where the children played. He sighed when he saw their innocence being swept away from them in his mind.

He crossed one leg over the other, as he continued his contemplation. He considered how the world was failing the people even now. And how those who really needed the help were being brushed aside. There were far too many sinners within the city to weed them out, and the innocents were already dying. Yes, something drastic needed to happen for change to occur. He nodded to himself, his mind truly made up on the matter.

It was getting dark as Weylin headed through the park. He always walked slower here, savoring the feeling of completeness the nature provided him. Sometimes he even took off his shoes and walked barefoot to feel the earth directly against his feet. But today was not one of those days. Today he contented himself with wandering aimlessly through the grass, munching on some take out from the cafe; his dinner for the night. He passed by the playground and paused a moment to watch the children play, most of them being herded off by their parents now to go home for dinner.

"It's comforting to watch them," Ian stated to the man who walked up next to him. He eyed the man as if judging him. He knew he had seen him before... but where was the hard part. He brushed the thought away, deaming it unimportant. His eyes wandered back over towards the children and their parents.

Weylin was a little startled when the man suddenly spoke to him. He looked over, eying him a little suspiciously. At first he had assumed that any adult here was the guardian of one of the children, but from the sound of it this man was just watching them for the hell of it. That was a little creepy. So the redhead did not reply; he would not have known what to say anyway.

Ian didn't exactly expect a reply, though it would have been nice to disproove one of his many theories. The particular theory in question was that people were so afraid of one another, they would go out of their way to avoid their own kind. It was sad that this seemed more like a truth than anything else. Even though he had tried to start up a conversation with this red-head, there wasn't much hope that it would continue.

Ian sighed and gently pushed himself up to his feet. He gave one last look towards the park and the parents tryint to usher their children back home. A faint smile etched onto his strong features. Ian turned his back towards the Irish man and slowly meandering away from the bench he was originally on.

Weylin watched the other man leave, feeling a shudder go up his spine. Something felt off about that man. He wasn't quite sure what it was, so put it down to creepiness. What sort of person just watched kids in the park for no reason and found in comforting?

Turning away, the redhead started on his way again.

Ian had the following day off, so he expected to make his attack then. On his walk home he worked different ideas in his head. Exactly when he would attack was his greatest decision. His powers focused on the night, and that's when they were at the peak. He was a rather patient man, and would be willing to wait until the late evening to start. He had been working on different marks as well on where he should start. The center of town would be the best option. And then whether to hide his face or not. He could always keep a cloud of darkness around him so none of his features would be visable. That was probably his best option just in case things went wrong.

Ian entered into the complex where his apartment was located. It was very close to the park, sine that was where he felt at home. Home wasn't really the right term to use... it's where his life started to fall to pieces. Where the devil entered in on his soul and took it for his own...

Weylin had the unfortunate inability to live near the park. With his minimum wage job he took what he could afford, and if that was a two room apartment half a mile from the park he could live with it. It just fueled his desire to, someday, get a proper house with a proper yard.

Before his powers had emerged Weylin had never even considered living in a house. He had been perfectly content with his little high rise apartment and hadn't wanted anything more (except maybe a nicer high rise apartment). It was strange how much the accident had changed him, and not just physically.
