They would have a fit if they found out, he knew. He had never been out of the yard, except for during a chase or a raid, and even then, they controlled it. Surely, to find one of their better K-9ers missing, they would start calling for him immediately.

Luckily, it was late enough at night that they honestly didn't care what the dogs did.

He stalked along the streets, his harness slipping easily over his shoulders and chest, his eyes moving from left to right as he kept his attention to his surroundings high. He refused to be caught off guard by a stray or a passing wild. He did not know much about them, nor how they lived, but he had heard enough stories that the thought of meeting one was rather undesirable. No matter how interesting it would be, nor how easy it would be to pick a fight, he was hoping to avoid all conflict. In fact, he was out to see if he could try his hand at hunting, if only to tell Lohen and Gem that he could do something they couldn't. It was important for him to be able to best them at something, seeing as they were better at just about everything else.

Slowly, the buildings began to thin out and the streets became cracked and neglected, and he spotted an old farm. The shingles were hanging from the windows and the siding was rotting away. Intrigued, he crept closer, sniffing at the air, and as he caught the scent of ducks, he slunk low to the ground, and inched towards the side of the house. Peaking around the corner, he spotted the birds, all nested down for the night. A meal at this hour would be easy, to say the least.

And he would have himself a meal.

Silently, slowly the purple poodle slunk through the grasses and abandoned buildings, her tail swaying slowly as she moved. This was her domain, the little piece of land she'd claimed as her hunting grounds. True it was close to the humans and wild dogs weren't often inclined to be so close to humans but, that just made this place perfect for her.

The quiet cooing and occasional squawk from the sleeping flock, assured her that her prey was nearby and no doubt going to be easy to catch. Amadu's ice blue eyes narrowed and she dropped lower to the ground, slinking closer until she was crouched a few feet from the bank of the pond where a few ducks floated lazily, not quite asleep but not quite awake. These would do, for tonight's meal.

Licking her maw, the poodle scanned the flock before she singled out one duck that seem particularly....appetizing. A loss for the flock...a dinner for me. she thought as she eased herself into the shallow water, staying among the reeds and out of the sight of the birds. Closer, ever closer, the poor feather brained things wouldn't have the slightest idea what was happening.

Just a game of waiting now. The tide would shift soon and bring her dinner right to her waiting maw.
