Persephone lounged on the warm sand of the beach, the sun shined down on her back and the butterflies that were ever present around her clung to her green mane, opening and closing their wings; clearly enjoying the warm day just as much as she.

Moss crouched some distance away, her ankles in the water that lapped back and forth lazily. A crab scurried around in front of her, trapped by her hands as she played with it.

Persephone sighed contentedly and flexed her toes into the sand, leaving small furrows that would be washed away with high tide later in the day. The trek through the Scrub Forest was a little lengthy, but it was worth it to spend a day on the beach.

"Hm...." Tilting his head back, Yasuo let the warm breeze blow through his mane as he watched the blue-green waves lap over the sands edge. So different from his home, yet just as peaceful.

The sensation of tiny claws poking him in the side broke the meditative state of mind, causing the Chi'Lin to glance over his shoulder. Tiny eyes stared back at him before the little creature skittered upwards to take refuge in his mane. Yasuo chuckled and turned to keep walking down the shoreline, his footprints being washed away by the tide as it rolled in and out. Aideen had chosen to keep him company while Loba stayed behind at the waterfall; at least the little salamander wasn't constantly crying about how wet it was at the beach.

A sparkle of blue crossed infront of his line of vision. "Hm?" A butterfly? What was the little creature doing so far from the forest? Watching it fly around, Yasuo soon saw a flash of green from down the beach; similar fleck of color were perched all over....her? Ears perked upwards, Yasuo moved a bit closer but stopped a respectful distance away. Yes, a P'an Lun. Someone else was enjoying the beach today as well.

Persephone looked up when she saw a blue mass coming towards her from the corner of her eye. Moss was still tormenting a crab a few feet away from her. The sudden movement of her head dislodged several butterflies and they flew around in wide loops, before returning to land again.

She turned towards the newcomer and smiled, "Hi, what brings you to the beach today?"

Yasuo smiled at the greeting. "Greetings to you as well." Pawing at the sand, the male laided down a few feet from Persephone as Aideen scampered from his mane to perch on his horn. The flames that ran along her back flickered slightly in the strong wind.

"I am simply enjoying a moment out of the caverns, taking a break as one might say." Tilting his head, Yasuo tossed the female Painter a curious glance. "What brings you to this place, if I may ask?"

"Same as you, it's a nice break from the norm, and Moss," she gestured with a paw towards the Kokopelli who had given up on the crab and was now chasing one of the butterflies that was flying around, "enjoys the beach almost as much as I do. I'm Persephone by the way, and that over there is Moss."

Moss ran up to her at the sound of her name and skidded to a stop, kicking some sand in Persephone's face. She sneezed and the butterflies scattered again.

Yasuo chuckled and shook his head lightly with mirth. "It's very nice to meet you both." He smiled and lowered his head so the salamander could bounce off and skitter over to Moss.

"I am known as Yasuo and this little one is Aideen." He flicked his tail and glanced back in the direction of Crater Lake. "I normally have another with me, but Loba asked to stay back at home." Smiling again, he watched one of the many butterflies land on his shoulder. "Lady Persephone, if I may ask? So many of these little creatures seem attracted to you, why is that?"

Aideen scampered over to Moss and glanced up at the sand familiar, her head tilted slightly to the side in confusion.

"It's nice to meet the both of you too." she replied.

Persephone contemplated Yasuo's question for a moment, "I'm not quite sure why they follow me, to be honest. Maybe the like how I smell?" she shrugged, "I just know that they've done this whenever there are butterflies around since I was a hatchling."

"The only time the leave me alone is winter." she added.
