Melhor neared his home carefully, sniffing the air, even as a small white cub padded out to investigate the ruckus. One tiny eyebrow went up at the newcomer, and she padded away, eyes rolling.

"I am NOT getting involved here."

Melhor groaned as his cousin, shaking his head, another cub, blues and blacks with yellows and black wing marking rolled out, and looked up.

"Hi."

Na'ima chuckled at the actions of the first cub, then smiled at the second. "Hello there." This family seemed to have interesting markings. Her own family only had their blessed scale markings, and some were blessed with wings, as the cub before her was.

The cub rolled over, curiously watching the stranger, then looked to Melhor.

"Mama is sleeping. Did you bring me any fish?"

Melhor laughed, ruffling his sister's fur.

"Unfortuanately, Nully, no."

Her observation earlier had been right. "Perhaps I could help you get some fish for her later, Melhor?" The nutritional advantages of fish made themselves known in her head, but she pushed them aside. She didn't need them now. His mother had seemed to do well with her cubs, though...despite the fact she was hurting. Na'ima already saw the possibility of a good, if slow, recovery.

Melhor nodded appreciatively, and moved for the dens. Mioyo wasn't back, so the male helped the strange female in. Inside the den a white, blue, and violet lioness with a green tail tuft was sleeping. Her body was covered in woulds- claws, blows, you named it, she'd been hit with it. Some had healed-- many had not, and she slept fitfully.

Na'ima followed, and was glad for her training. The lioness was a sorry sight indeed...and Na'ima's heart made a home in her paws. "Whoever did this to her had best hope their path never crosses mine." An edge had risen in her voice again, proof of the steel that lay beneath her softness. "If she allows it, do you mind if I look her over...to take a tally of the wounds, and what plants I'll need to gather?"
She could not do anything without the permission of the one to be healed however...Not unless it was a case of no 'yes' or 'no' could be gotten.

Melhor nodded.

"I can keep the cubs out of the area, if you need..."

About then the den doorway was blocked by a massive figure, the light casting in around a lioness with red pelt.

To those whom had seen firekin, she could easily be mistaken for one, if but bigger. Her massive form was all muscle, and green eyes surveyed the newcomer.

"That would be appreciated." At the change in the light and shadows, she turned to the lioness at the entrance and bowed her head. Na'ima had never seen a Firekin...but she had seen those of Io's bloodline, and they were lions of great size.
"Hello. I am Na'ima." Best to give the other a name to go with her face. She certainly didn't want to seem like a threat.

The red lioness smiled warmly. She seemed nice enough-- and she doubted Melhor would bring trouble home. The lioness nodded politely.

"And I am Mioyo. Melhor brought you, I wager?"

Na'ima nodded. "It's good to meet you." She smiled. "And that he did. I'm a healer, and he hoped I could help his mother." Her smile vanished as quickly as it came. "I wasn't expecting to see quite the wounds she has..."

A shake of her head cleared her thoughts before they could jumble again. "But I intend to do the best I can, if I'm allowed to."

Mioyo nodded.

"Whatever you can do for my daughter...."

A younger male, only as old as the wounded, stalked next to the lioness then, and eyed the blue one warily, looking to his elder.

"I smelled newcomers."

"Yes. Melhor brought her. Be nice."

Mioyo rolled her eyes before the male could be rude. He grunted, sitting.

The lioness nodded. "You have my word. Sworn on the blood of Bahamut that runs through me." She would not turn her back on one who needed her help. Not and still be a Paladin of Bahamut. Her blue eyes looked to the new lion curiously, and she bowed her head.

"My name is Na'ima."

Mioyo smiled.

Don't mind him. He's... Grouchy. Paladin?" Her ears pricked forward, intrigue writing across her face. "May I ask...?"

Na'ima blushed, not realizing she'd spoken out loud. "A combination of fighter, healer, and priest of sorts. It's the path I was most suited to, growing up. I focus more on the healing and priestly aspects, though I can certainly hold my own in a fight." She chuckled. "Wouldn't do for me to be unable to defend those I care for on the field of battle."

She sighed. "And it was because of my path I left my birth-pride. Evil is everywhere...and I could not stand fighting just one when I could help fight others more dangerous and less petty. It is not Bahamut's way."

Mioyo listened intently, eyes flashing in thought before she smiled.

"If you wish, you could reside with us, and cure whom and when you wish."

Na'ima started. She barely knew these lions...and yet they were offering a new home. But her gut told her these were good lions, despite the grouchiness of the one. "If you would not mind." She smiled softly.

"There are those here who seem to need what I can offer...and I am not one to deny that."

"You may remain as long as you wish, and come and go as you please." Mioyo chuckled. "We're a small group, I'm afraid. But we have a common goal."

Mioyo stretched.

"The destruction of Evil."

Na'ima's eyes flashed at that. "Then you have my loyalty, Mioyo. So long as you do not make the mistake my joka'kiota made, I shall be an ally." She chuckled.

"I have a feeling you won't make that mistake however. You don't seem to have any of the mindsets that plague many of my kin."

Mioyo looked intrigued further, however, Melhor, whom had been sitting quietly, stretched, looking over.

"Can I get you anything...?"

Na'ima looked over to the wounded lioness again, making a quick assesment of what she would need first. "Pain often plagues her? If so..." She list a couple of plants that were easily found in the area. One was for pain relief, the other to ensure the wounds were cleaned out. "And water."

She did not need much...not to start out. At this point, the best thing to do was ensure the wounds stayed clean, and her patient wasn't in too much pain.

Melhor nodded, excusing himself to fetch things carefully. Mioyo watched the boy leave quietly, laying down in silence, musing. The remaining male, Shupavu, watched as well, before eying the new female again.

Na'ima raised a brow at the male. Grouchy wasn't new to her...but it always made her a bit...on edge. Why? She was never sure. Perhaps she would figure it out one day. Mentally sighing, she started to take a more detailed tally of the wounded lioness, doing her best to be careful...and respectful. Injured did not mean one needed to loose their dignity.

Shupavu watched, finally stalking over and laying down with the female, licking her face as animals were wont to do. Mioyo made no move to stop him, smiling slightly as the group, paws tucked under her quietly.
