[Random note: I'm doing the RP here so I can transfer it to my journal later]
The weather outside this morning was awful, Codi decided, watching the rain slam the glass in staccato protest. It had been two months since he had met Gray in the field, and they'd played together while their fathers talked and played catch. Since then, Codi had developed more respect for the Eye-child, and less fear. Gray simply wanted to be accepted. Codi knew that, although he was not old enough to know why or how. Right now, the young wasp sat on one of his father's window-seats, staring out into the rain. It was a quiet morning. There wasn't much movement from inside the house. This was mostly because Gray was ill. And had been for the past month. Codi was left to his own devices right now, because his parents trusted him. They also were in the room with Gray, making sure Fuego was alright, and guiding Dragon in caring for the sick Eye-child. Codi knew something was very wrong. He just didn't know what. He hadn't been allowed into that room to see Gray since he first got sick. But - being the sort of child he was - he took it all in stride, busying himself with other things... until now, anyway.
Gray, meanwhile, was curled on his side in his oversized bed, covers wrapped about him, yet shivering hard. Four adults were in the room. His father, Fuego. Codi's parents, Aaron and Zael. And a doctor who had thusfar been very kind to him. He didn't know - nor care about right now - the man's name. Only that he was gentle, and generally made Gray feel better when he gave him medicine. Which didn't taste very good, but seemed to help, so he took it. Gray had been very sick almost all of this month, and no one could really figure out why. At first, they'd thought he was pretending. Until he actually fainted in the car on the way to the mall. Then they believed that something was actually wrong with him, and called in the doctor that now milled about, watching Gray like a hawk. Occasionally, the man would lift Gray's wrist, or look into his eyes, or listen at his chest with something cold and metal. But that was all that Gray really knew about the man. The rest may or may not come with time.

Codi did not seem overly keen on being left alone - but he wasn't hurting for attention. He had to cat to play with, his books to read, and his toy sword to 'practice' with. Practice which consisted of chewing on it, swinging it around in a carefree manner, and generally making a fool out of both himself and the weapon. Right now, though - he was content to simply stare at the rain, and will something to happen. As he was watching the raindrops, something caught the corner of his eye, and caused him to turn his head and focus on it. A small creature - Codi didn't know what it was - crept diligently along the drainpipe that ran up the house. Even though the creature kept getting knocked down by rain or wind, it kept climbing, and Codi grew more and more interested. He knew he wasn't supposed to go out there, but he was curious... and he had his raincoat. Quickly making sure that his parents weren't looking in on him, he donned said raincoat, and quickly inched out the door, sprinting over to the drainpipe to get a closer look at the creature. It appeared to be a tiny thing like him. That is to say, it had humanish features. But it also had translucent wings, and was really tiny. So what was it? Only one way to find out. Dashing back to the house for a moment, he rummaged around in the kitchen until he found one of the Tupperware containers that his fathers used to store things. Then he ran back outside, and pretty much knocked the small creature into the Tupperware container, putting his hand over it so it didn't get out. He then raced back inside, and shook off the raincoat, taking his prize to the kitchen table, and setting the container down before he lifted his hand.

Codi was surprised to see a little boy very much like himself in the container. Given, the figure had wings and was a little thinner - but he appeared to be the same age. Which was unusual. But interesting. As the fairy wouldn't be able to get out, he felt good enough about it to leave him in the container while he went to get his notebook and sketchpad, skittering back with them, and sitting at the table, watching.
One of his fathers came back with him, standing there over him. Fuego sighed, and crossed his arms, present in the doorway as Codi busily sketched his new catch. Shaking his head, the fire-element Arrikanez moved over, and looked at what his son had caught. Something incredible, it looked like. A fairy. Quickly, Fuego tipped the container over, and released the tiny being... to mutters of protest from Codi. But the little thing didn't feel like going anywhere, so he pretty much just sat on the table while Codi drew him. Fuego knew the being was soaked and, from the looks of things, sick. But that's what he was best at fixing. Quickly, he began to boil some water. All three of them could use something to warm them up, and hot cocoa was just the ticket. Now to find something small enough for the fairy... An idea struck him, and he moved out of the room again, to Codi's room, and picked up a small tea set that had gone with a dollhouse the boy never played with anymore. He grinned, and went to the sink in the kitchen to wash the dust off the small pieces, before filling the pitcher halfway with hot water, then filling the rest with cocoa mix - which consisted of tipping a little into the container with the end of a spoon. Then, he fixed Codi's hot cocoa in his favorite red mug. After the other two had been served, he got out three other mugs. One for himself, one for Aaron, and one for Zael. They'd appreciate the thought.
Codi sipped at his cocoa while his father went back into the sick room to give Aaron and Zael their mugs. Then, Fuego came back out into the kitchen, and sat there alongside him, watching their little visitor sip at his own small set of cocoa. The fairy was shivering something awful, but rejected the offer when Fuego made as if to take his wet things off. He was dressed all in velvet [heavens only KNEW where he got that] and had a small crown of gold on his tiny head. Whoever he was in the fairy community, he was important, and he acted like it. Not that he wasn't gracious. Even though he couldn't be understood by the larger Codi and Fuego, he made every motion that he was thankful for being rescued. To the point of bowing at the two larger ones before he sat down to another mug of cocoa. It seemed to be doing a good job of warming him up. He looked like he had more color to him now.
