Sitting by a small stream, Kyuran stared down at his wriggling prey with a neutral expression. A bit of curiosity piqued within him as he wondered just how long the fish would survive out of the water and under his claws before finally passing on. He also wondered if the torment the creature felt before its death would sweeten the meat at all.

It was this curiosity that kept him from finishing off the creature, leaving it to die slowly on the bank.

Pitiful... it didn't last long at all.

Shaking his head, he dipped his head down to begin eating his catch. To his disappointment, the flavor of the fish wasn't any different really.

Kofuku pranced a little as she made her way up the stream, her eyes glued to the water. She let her feet splash lightly in the water as she went, giggling a little as the water droplets made shining, gem-like shapes in the air. Naturally, she was attracted to minerals, especially purple jade, since it was a color similar to her.

Pausing to look around at where she was, she noticed the dark colored male farther ahead and swished her tail a little, grinning. 'Looks like my gemless day might be made up after all!' She thought excitedly to herself, trotting up to him. "Hi there...."

That dark male painter was about halfway done with his fish when he heard a female voice nearby. His eyes darted off to the side to see a female Chi'lin standing by.

What could she possibly want? he thought to himself before staring at her some.

"Is there something you need?" he asked lowly. It wasn't a menacing tone at all, but there was a hint in there that he didn't really wish to be bothered.

She smiled, her tail swishing gently over the surface of the water behind her causing small droplets to fly up and glisten in the sun. "That's not a very nice way to talk to a lady... or anyone for that matter, specially since you don't know me at all."

She looked at the half eaten fish and blinked, realizing that he was probably upset because she had disturbed his meal. "Oh.... sorry...." She gave him a small grin.

Keeping a rather neutral stare, Kyuran gazed at the female some before taking another bit from his fish. After swallowing the strip of meat, he continued to look down at his food as he spoke.

"Nice or not, you didn't answer my question. Is there something you need?"

He knew not of the reason why the chi'lin had approached him, but he was a bit curious. Which was the main reason why he didn't try to shoo her away just yet. And besides, perhaps he would be able to get a kick out of this, or more knowledge. Maybe even both.

Kofuku watched him as he ate the fish, tilting her head a little and smiling a little mischeviously. "I didn't know that I needed to have a reason for walking up this stream; or for talking to another male as handsome as yourself for that matter."

She let out a small giggle, enjoying herself even though she had a feeling that the other dragon in front of her was getting slightly irritated by her. It was a shame, he was pretty handsome looking, if only he was more fun to flirt with. 'Oh well, might give me a bit of a challenge this time around...' she thought to herself.

Not returning his gaze to the female, Kyuran ate away at his meal slowly, listening to what she had to say. An odd little chi'lin she was, at least as far as he could tell. Then again, he hadn't really encountered too many Chi'lin in general.

"Handsome? I think you should go off and find some other male to dote upon."

It was slightly suspicious to him, but he just kept eating his food for now. All the while, he began to think of various things to do in the case she didn't leave. Perhaps some mind games would be fun, if he could manage to pull them off correctly.

A strange feeling went through her, and Kofuku looked away if only for a moment. She wasn't used to her charm being completely deflected off in such a dismissive matter. She didn't like it, but she still wasn't ready to give up the game quite yet.

"And I think that it would be more fun to dote upon yourself." She swished her tail again, watching him with bright eyes. "My name is Kofuku, by the way."

For a moment, Kyuran debated whether or not he should return the favor of giving a name. He eventually decided that it really shouldn't make a whole lot of difference whether Kofuku knew it or not.

"I'm Kyuran," he replied, keeping the response short.

After speaking, he went ahead and took several more bites from his meal while thinking to himself. It was a bit surprising that she decided to keep up with this little game. But it would be more amusing this way he supposed.

"Are you just going to stand there and stare at me while I eat?"

"I wouldn't call it 'staring'; it's more along the lines of admiring...." Kofuku looked to the side. "Why, do I make you uncomfortable? I'm not interested in your fish, I'm more interested in something larger...."

Something caught her attention in the corner of her eyes and she turned to look into the water, seeing a small, green-colored rock. Part of her was torn between staying here or going and grabbing the small piece of what looked like jade.

The dark painter's right eye twitched slightly at the female's response. Then, slowly, he brought his gaze up to her, staring rather neutrally.

"I simply have no interest in that sort of thing. Not only would I rather not do anything with the likes of you, I'd rather not risk having any sin-spawn."

Kyuran paused there. He thought about it for a bit, then added a little side note that was more towards himself than anyone else.

"Though... a child's mind is so much more malleable than that of an adult... And I wonder just how much pressure one could take exactly..."

At this point, the female wasn't listening. Instead, Kofuku pounced into the water, sending the wet substance into the air as she searched with wide eyes before plunging her head into the water and coming up with a rather large piece of jade in her mouth.

She made her way back to the dark male, grinning and dropping the jade down. "Sorry about that, I sort of become possessed when I see gems. What were you saying?"

There was a bit of silence as Kofuku pounced into the water only to come back with a chunk of jade. Kyuran really didn't know what to make of all of this, so he just stared at her blankly while shaking his head as she asked what it was he had said.

"..Nevermind."

So it seemed that this Chi'lin had a weakness for gemstones. Perhaps he could put this bit of information to use at some point in time. As he finished his fishy meal, he stood up and stretched his wings some before turning back towards her.

"What is it you do exactly with the gems you find?"

Kofuku giggled a little, inspecting the piece of jade in the light. "Well, it depends on what I can do with it, I guess. Mostly I just collect them for the sake of collecting them. If you'd like, you can have this piece, I've got plenty enough at m little hole of a home."

She had a very friendly and perky smile, her tail swishing pack and forth behind her. The energy that she had just radiated from her. Sneezing a little, she suddenly shook herself down like a dog, the droplets of water flying off every which way.

Kyuran was about to speak up in regards of the offer but stopped as specks of water splashed against his body. Twitching lightly, he stared at Kofuku and shook his head before continuing with what he was about to say.

"I have no interests in shiny or colored rocks. So just add it to your growing collection I suppose."

As he spoke, he kept a rather flat tone of voice and he eyed her carefully. This female still confused him to some extent, but he wasn't done here just yet.

"So what exactly would you do if you found an area that was completely rich with gems of all sorts?"
