Well, we all know what'll happen...since mackerel is somewhat inconvenient to use to trade with, the prisoners will start using paper notes to represent a packet of mackerel. These notes would be exchangeable for the equivalent amount of mackerel. Eventually, they will place enough worth in the notes themselves that they will stop using them merely as representations of mackerel...they will be off the "mackerel standard", if you will. However, they will realize that they can increase their wealth by simply creating more paper notes, eventually leading to a massive devaluation of the mackerel currency and a total collapse of the econ...wait, what was I talking about again?

Invisibleairwaves, your Economist is showing... But, remeber they have to buy paper and pens and such, so goods make it cheaper.

heh I wonder if the mackeral is such a good currency because no one wants to actually eat it.......people would smoke cigarettes..thats like burning cash
