Daddy
Name; Niki InuTaisho Age; 200ish Birthday; May 30th
Niki is a successful, outgoing, and powerful real estate agent. He owns a gorgeous home by the sea, throws absolutely amazing parties, and is the most eligible bachelor in a 500 hundred mile radius. Niki is one of those people that you either are addicted to, or avoid like the plague. His extensively large clan/family would put down everything and run to his age in a heartbeat and his favorite nephew basically worships the ground that he walks on. Both women, men, and everything in between fall at his feet, just begging for just a chance to be with him for a few nights. Whether it be for the sex, money, or to satisfy whatever other need there is.
Even with all of this, all of the parties, all of the friends, lovers, the family, the favorite nephew . . . Niki’s home will always empty out and he would be left only with his things. Not to say that he was unhappy, in fact, he had never known any different in his adult life.
Perhaps he was unconsciously waiting for something . . . or someone.

Clippings from magazines, print outs, pamphlets, handwritten things, movie posters, band posters, it was like Blake's brain had exploded and covered his walls. Another item of mysterious origin in Blake's room, though this one is displayed a little more out in the open, not in a confined space. Apparently this is a sign of worship to some deity that Blake has never heard of-- but he liked the toy and promised to display it.

The VaseThank you so much Kara for the prompt! o3o
There was something to be said of waking up to the sound of waves crashing against the shoreline, the caws of seabirds, and the faraway chirps of dolphins. Everyday felt like waking up in a personal piece of Heaven. A warm, tropical, very sandy, if very secluded, Paradise.
The soft warm sunlight and the sweetly salty breeze caressed Niki’s bare skin, better then those drill sergeants called alarm clocks. He rolled over onto his back and yawned, stretching his body in the most languid and mother watering way. Now out of out bed, the Dog grabbed some clothes and strode into the bathroom to begin the day.
Just as Niki was spitting out the last of the minty toothpaste, his excellent hearing heard a car halt on the driveway. He wiped the last traces of foam off his face and made his way into the front room. Almost on cue, he heard a sharp three taps on the door. Tap ta ta tap tap He just couldn’t resist tapping back on the door, tap tap! before he opened it. Niki and his visitor stared at each for a moment and then began to chuckle at each other. He couldn’t help but smile at the fact that his youngest brother, Sasanaemaru, [better known as Fluffy.] had come to visit without his son being here . . . “Darn!” Niki snapped his fingers and shook his head, “I guess that old saying; an apple a day keeps the doctor away,” He eyed a strange object that Fluffy was cradling like one a baby in one arm.
Fluffy chuckled and shook his head, “I don’t think that apple flavored candy, which you’re not even supposed to have, counts as an apple a day!”
“Great! Psychic doctors! What‘s next? Flyin--” he was cut off by a strange expression on his brother’s face.
Fluffy gently placed the strange object into Niki’s hand and gave his brother the kind of smile that Niki had seen since . . . Well, the day that Arrc [their father.] had given Sasami away at her wedding. . . . It was a lot less tear inducing and more along the creepy scale when one’s youngest brother was
Niki stared down at his brother, trying to gauge if his brother if had someone/thing had possessed his youngest brother, but Fluffy looked the same as always, in his white doctor’s coat, a stethoscope draped over his neck, a red t-shirt and a pair of blue jeans underneath. He looked into his brother’s eyes, but saw only the mischief in those familiar melted golden eyes. He knew that his youngest brother was up to something, but he couldn’t rightly discern what. “Thanks bro,” he raised an eyebrow at his brother and asked surprisingly seriously; “Ren didn’t buy this at the Witchlings Market did she?”
“What? Of course not!” Fluffy rolled his eyes in disdain, “Have you no faith in me?”
“So what is this exactly?” Niki chuckled inwardly at Fluffy’s dramatically scandalized expression when he didn’t answer the question, “There must be a reason for this,” he gestured towards the vase in his other hand, “You haven’t gotten me a birthday present since we were . . . Were . . . Fetuses!”
His younger brother snorted and rolled his eyes, “A hundred fifty year old fetus you were then,” that had probably been another doctor crack or something. “Anyway, I have some house calls,” he turned on his heel and stalked back out the open door. As Fluffy was about to close the door behind him, he turned to look at his brother over his shoulder and smiled a serene, loving smile, “Enjoy your . . . present, Niki,”
Niki stared at his front door for a few moments, listening as Fluffy opened and a closed the car door, revved the engine, and the fading sounds as he drove off.
The vase wasn’t anything special really, simply made, and the colors were modest. Niki couldn’t help but think that this should be in the dainty and soft hands of a Grecian woman, not his large, calloused, and rough fingers. He turned the vase over, searching for the Potter’s stamp; he was surprised at the lack of one. He had some wild thought that maybe someone had painted over the original Potter’s symbol, so he brought the bottom of the vase up to eye level. His nose was telling him that this thing was magic somehow, but it didn’t seem to be . . .
Niki shrugged at the thing and absently took it with him to his office. He sat the thing down on the desk and then promptly forgot about it . . .
And there the Vase stayed for a short amount of time . . .

In later reflections, Niki would realize that the music player on his laptop had been blaring that day. It played all of his favorite music genres from his past two centuries of life. Though this play list focused more on eighties rock, some emo music, Indie rock, and some country hits, not really on his favorite composers, as he would normally be listening too.
He wasn’t exactly sure of the time when it had all started, but he first noticed the Reaction about mid-morning. He had been working on something for his business website when he felt something peculiar in the air. As Niki lived right on the beach, his first instinct was to stop, mid-word, and hurry over to the window to check the weather. Niki had just been about to pull up the local weather website when he saw something . . . Blue? Out of the corner of his eye. His brother had flung the odd little vase at him a few weeks prior.
If the thing had not smelled of magic before [he couldn’t remember whether or not it had.] it surely reeked now!
Oh, Fluffy was so dead . . .
He grabbed the cordless phone off his desk and prepared to dial his youngest brother’s cell phone number, but the strange beauty of the puking vase struck him to the core. He laid the phone back on the cradle and slowly slid back into his office chair. There Niki watched the vase in fascination, the blue tendrils of light flying out of the mouth like molten rock, but falling to the desk like the most delicate of snowflakes. He reached out to catch one and as it touched his skin, a warm pleasurable tingle spread out over the palm of his hand. There he sat at his desk for several hours, eyes glued to the vase as if it were the most engrossing movie. Niki decided he would call his brother after dinner . . .
~ Just for fun . . .
“Sasaaaaaa~”
“Niki?”
“Seveeen daaaaaaaaaayssss~”
“Niki,”
“Hi Sasa, how are you this wonderfully fine day?”
“. . . what do you want?”
“What, an eldest brother can’t check up on his baby brother?”
“Again; what do you want? Kin’s went to the movies with some friends,”
“Really!? Were they’re any girls?”
“Let’s see . . . It was him, another boy, Raven, and Lin Winters,”
“Lin huh? No kidding~”
“What did you call for, Niki?”
“. . . what’s up with that vase you gave me?”
“Why, what’s it doing?”
“Puking out blue magic orbs that cause tingles,”
“. . .”
“Sasa?”
“I’ll call you back!”
Click.
“ . . .?”

The Surprise
It had been a few days since Niki had called up his brother about the strange vase, said sibling had never gotten back to him. He hadn’t really thought much else on the matter; sure, that Fluffy would have called back if the puking pottery were in anyway dangerous. Now the said vomiting vase just stood proudly upon his desk, the sparkles dancing all over his work. He made sure too keep his hands well away from the sparkles; the pleasant tingle they caused when they touched bare skin could be very distracting. He couldn’t have any distractions at that moment.
“I see, I completely understand where you’re coming from Mrs. Brakavitch,” he was just in the middle of giving the pitch line to a client, when something caught his attention. Well, it more of what hadn’t caught his attention really that-- well . . . To put it simply-- Something was missing. Niki blinked and craned his neck from side to side, trying to discern what exactly was amiss. He had always found it easy to multitask like this, listening to a client and replying with logical, and doing something else that was more entertaining then whatever the other side of the brain was doing at that moment. Even so, it took him a few moments to figure out the . . . Difference in his Office.
His vase had stopped spitting up sparkles and other shimmering magicks. It stood still and cold, like any regular piece of crockery should. He reached out a hand to touch it, but something drew his hand back, something childishly fearful that if he tainted it, it would not ever shimmer and spark again.
A little dumbfounded at this new discovery and strange feeling, Niki frowned at the vase, blaming it. Irritated at how he felt a little more disappointed then he should have at the loss of his pretty puking pottery. Well, he still had the pretty pottery, he mused, just not the puking part. The Dog sighed remorsefully through his nose, a habit he had acquired soon after he had fell in love with the telephone. He went back to his client.
He emerged himself into the talk of business, still a little miffed that his little thing was now broken. [leave it to baby brother to buy something defective!] Niki didn’t even notice until it was too late that the vase had plopped over onto it’ side. He turned sharply to look at it, his first instinct to suspect ‘something’ did it.
In his peripheral vision, he watched as something small crawled out of the mouth of the vase.
The little . . . Thing, was about the size of his pinkie finger and the body would have been just about the same width, except for that large head. The size and proportions rather reminded him of those ugly little Kewpie Dolls . . . though this was in no way ugly.
This was . . . Dare he say, cute? A blonde mop of hair hid underneath a black hoodie, an adorable yellow smiley face on the front of the garment. A pair of raggedy blue jeans that he immediately realized where ‘in’ right now, with those silly holes made into them. The little boy? Also wore red and white franchised sneakers . . . But thing that stood out the most for the Dog was those large, bright green, fathomless eyes.
He felt his chest squeeze in tightly, wanting and yet not wanting to look away from those eyes. That gaze had sent some of his more undomesticated instincts into screamo mode and unfortunately, he wasn’t very good at deciphering the lyrics.
That spelled trouble, the correct spelling of ‘NIOSETSLCPBCOOOPV’, as in Niki-Is-Obviously-Stressed-Enough-To-See-Little-Cute-Pocket-Boys-Crawling-Out-Of-Once-Puking-Vases. “Mrs. Brakavitch, I’m terribly sorry, but I just realized that I’m late for my doctor’s appointment--” Niki chuckled, “Yes, that’s him,” he smiled into the phone, “Of course, I’ll tell him you said hello, good night ma’am,” and with a flourish of his hand he ripped the headset off his head and let the plastic fall from his fingertips. The headset landed with a satisfying thud against the wooden desk.
Niki closed his eyes, folded his arms across his chest, and massaged his sinuses. That was strange, didn’t even feel a migraine coming on. His brain attempting a jailbreak from his skull was normally the first sign that he needed rest and really, he felt fine. In all truth, Niki reassured himself, he had been taking it easy these last few years. Under Fluffy’s orders he hadn’t thrown himself into his work [as badly as before.] with his nose dragging the grindstone.
So why, when his eyes were open at least, was he seeing that?
“Daddy?”
A pair of great molten eyes snapped open.
Those great gold eyes stared hard at the small . . . Boy? That was wobbling his tiny tiny way towards, his arms outreached. A smile lit up the boy’s? face, making his large bottomless sparkle from the reflection of some inner candle.
“Daddy,” it wasn’t a question this time, nor was it a statement, but fact.
Niki let out a strangled laugh, but quickly pushed his mounting glass of hysteria aside and stared at the problem at hand. He reached out his right hand slowly and steadily, half of him afraid to that the charming creature would vanish in a veil of stress-induced pixie dust, the other afraid of feeling flesh. The latter almost screeched like a little girl when his ring finger met with the softest, most delicate thing it had ever touched. The Dog gulped, his fingers remembering that faint little feeling. It was like the after affect of those sparkles from his vomiting vase.
His mind reeled, as he realized that this little child had been born, probably from magic, inside of the Vase. Hypothesis proven as the little boy climbed awkwardly on his hand and hugged his index finger. He felt the same pleasurable tingling, only muted, probably from the boy’s clothing. Slowly and somehow steadily, Niki raised his hand into the air, near to his nose.
The little boy fell back once more, landing against the wall of fingers, his mouth opened wide, “Haaaaaahhhh,”
Niki almost laughed as he realized that his breath had knocked the wind out of the tiny thing.
His amusement was stopped as he smelled- no, sensed would have been a more accurate term -- that the boy was alive. His heightened sense of smell filled his nostrils with sharp scent of sorcery, but underneath was the natural smell of sweat. Of flesh. He heard the rustle of the boy’s clothes, heard the way the boy’s pulse quickened for a moment as he looked between Niki’s wall of fingers. He saw the way the muscles in the face move as the expression went from fear to instant happiness as the boy turned back to him.
“Daddy!”
This was a child, a living, breathing, eating, sleeping, being that he held so precariously in his hands. Though the very thought nauseated him, he knew that if he were to drop/smash/injure this tiny that the child would feel pain. That dark red blood would spill from newborn veins. Niki realized that with a single miscalculation of strength, he could bestill that fluttering, beating heart. This morbid, horrible, and gut-retching thought process left Niki’s heart pumping faster than need be. His hands became unsteady and his stomach doing gymnastics and other Olympic games. He quickly composed himself, setting the little boy back down on his desk before really did hurt him. Niki had just been about to get into his thinking pose, when the boy suddenly darted out with a shrill cry of agony, running forward, trying to catch Niki’s fingers. The Dog was barely able to stop the pinkie-sized boy from falling off the edge.
Now Niki really did feel that migraine coming on.

This is a roleplay between myself and the fabulous Kara Winters, using a TON of my own characters [a.k.a Blake's friends and family.] and Kara's own Lin. NOT YET FINISHED. Were-Ah "This is gay," "Quin, shut up, now," Raven growled darkly at her boyfriend who sat in the backseat of her car. She had banished him to the back about thirty miles or so down the road, where he and Lin had had too trade places.
Raven was wearing a beautiful and form-fitting black Chinese-inspirded dress with a golden embroidered dragon design along the sides. Her arms were allowed free movement as she didn't have any sleeves. Her legs on the other hand were held fast from the knees down by the tight fabric. She wore a pair of cheap, yet comfortable, flat black shoes and had expertly glued some equally earrings [without the hooks!] onto them so it would match her outfit. She had a cute hairpiece as well, a golden spider barrette that looked like it had seen better days.Quinton on the other hand . . . was wearing a Chinese-inspired robe-- the traditional kind that was usually reserved for men of high standing. It had white undertones and the main color of yellow. His pants underneath the robes were white as well, but with flat, black shoes like Raven's. "This is gaaaaaay~" Quinton once again whined from the back seat of the vehicle. "Guys shouldn't wear dresses," Raven twitched and the car abruptly revved, but slowed back into normal speed as quickly as it had revved. "You have pants on underneath," she knew from her many conversations with Lin that she had homosexual siblings. She didn't want Lin to get angry! Quinton knew, but didn't care, in his mind, it was more of a slang term for something that he didn't like, not a prejudice term like Raven was taking it. "But it's still a-- owwwh!" Quinton was assualted by the flying black and gold-embordiered purse that flew from the middle of the front seat into his face. "What the heck you got in there-- bricks!?" "A dicitionary! And you had better not do anything to that purse! I'm borrowing it from Ressa!"Kin was in the back passenger seat of his parent's car, almost out of eyesight from the trio in Raven's car, trying his best to give proper directions over the cellphone to Lin. He couldn't help but sweatdrop as he heard the lovebirds having a squabble over something silly. He held his hand lightly over the speaker, "Mom? Did you have to be mean to Quin and give him robes?" "Of course!" Ren said cheerfully from the front seat. "It was great fun for all of us," mostly because that wasn't all that they did. Raven and a few others from their email circle [Wolf, Ressa Niki, Sakura, and a few other relations and friends.] had also planned Kin's rather handsome attire for the evening . . .
Fluffy couldn't help but sigh at his wife, she was a little too thrilled about all of this. "Kin, tell them I'm going to slow down a little," he eyed his son in the back seat via the rear view mirror."S-sorry Lin! Tell Rave' to take a right up past the little church that's coming up, Dad's gonna slow down so you can catch up," Kara Winters Lin of course was sitting beside Raven trying to decide if she wanted to add to the Quinn abuse or just be down right amused. Unlike Raven who was confined in her dress Lin was snug in what she called traditional Lau clothes. It still held all the traditional features of Chinese clothing, her deep midnight blue pants were trimmed with silver and had cuffs on the ankles to match the one on her collar of her shirt. She wore traditional flats with it only they were white, instead of that dark blue. She even wore a jade bracelet on her wrist and her short hair was pulled up into a small bun kept in place by a hairclip that shaped itself to the back of her head of jade leaves. What made it unusual though was that her shirt was sleeveless and the back extended down to her anklets giving it a modern feel.. granted the cowl had been removed for originally this was a uniform used for assassinations.
"Don't worry about it Kin, Quinn is being distracting at the moment," Lin replied easing back in the seat as she covered the speaker to talk to Raven, "Right past the little church, Kin's father is going to slow down for us so we can see him."Were-Ah "Okay, tell'em I said thanks," Raven smiled exasperatedly, before smacking at Quinton's hand that had forth from the back seat to tickle at her ear. "No touchy! Me driving!" she barely got both hands to function properly enough to turn at the appropriate time. "Well, then, find a way to entertain me!" "Lin, I give complete and utter permission for the rest of ever to smack the crap out of my boyfriend," Raven hissed menacingly, though it was easy to see that she was trying hard to keep the smile off her face and out of her voice.Kin chuckled, "Tell Quin we're almost there, the driveway is just really hard to spot," Kara Winters Lin rolled her eyes, who knew Quinn could be this bad, she turned around as far as she could while being in a seatbelt, "Quinn, we're almost there, the driveway is just really hard to spot and if you complain one more time about what you're wearing I will take your sash and shove it in your mouth do I make myself clear?"
In due stress she gave Quinton the look promising she would do so if it came down to it. Were-Ah Quinton's mouth clicked dramatically shut, his spine sat a little straighter, and he looked ahead of him like a good little soldier. The rest of the way to Selena InuTaisho estate, all five minutes of it, was a quiet one. Raven wasn't exactly sure what she had been expecting, perhaps a mansion like Lin's home. But not this. She could only stare in something akin to confusion and amusment as she got out of the car, careful of her borrowed dress. Selena InuTaisho home was, to put it simply, a Siheyuan of an average size. It probably covered an acre or more, not including the surrounding property. A Siheyuan is a typically traditional Chinese courtyard house, often called a quadrangle for it's shape. Selena's home was no different. In the middle of the square was a large, spacious, beautiful, and well kept garden. Or rather, what Selena liked to call a garden, it was more of an unclosed yard where she could sit and watch her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren play. A continual porch surrounded the garden-yard, four pairs of stone steps in the cardinal directions. Guarding the aforementioned steps on both sides were knee-high statues of Four Guardians of the Compass guarding there respective directions. To the North was a gentle sculpture of the Tortoise made of black stone. It was also functional as a rain-water gauge and bird bath. To the South was a beautiful Phoenix that had risen from it's ashes, this statue had been made from a red dyed marble. It's belly had been carved out to hold a magical flame that gave off a lovely red light. To the East was a fearsome Dragon made of jade that stood the tallest of the statues, guarding the precious treasure of scented wood for the magical flame. To the West was a simple Red Bird that had been made from white marble, the adorning paint long since scratched off by the happy birds that ate from the bird feeder there. In the middle of the courtyard a proud Sakura tree stood tall, watching over the house and it's occupants. In one of the branches a large good weather charm had been hung by a piece of rope. There was an ethnic flaw in the design, if one were to have known about these kinds of things. Though really, it was very blatant and obvious! A normal Siheyuan would have a central gated entrance to the south for the sake of Feng Shui, but this entrance was much more Western. Over to the left of where many Western homes had their entrance stood a normal porch, a complete break in the way the home looked. There was a simple stone stairway that led to an ordinary, if small, porch where stood a large, obviously custom, pair of French doors. Over to the side of the door was an new looking doorbell and over the top of it was a rather hastily put together mailbox. Attached to the underside of the porch-roof was a set of what appeared to have been a wind-chime in it's prime. Fastened together with superglue, scotch tape, and a hell of a lot of love, it held fast with those somehow. Inside of the home was a completely different and just as detailed story. "Hey!" Kin waved to them as they got out of the vehicle. Behind his father was helping his mother out of the vehicle. Even after all these years, she insisted that it be Sasa that aide her, not her children. "We're kind of early," Kin explained as he trotted over. "Dad's watch is fast," Kin was a sight to behold himself, it was the traditional shirt and paints number, but it showed everything that he had-- in a good way. He wore a tight fitting golden slightly Chinese inspired shirt. It had very light colored stitching that appeared to be kanji. Around his waist he wore a nice sash that was meant to be a belt, as his shirt was actually hemmed a little short. He wore a pair of plain black dress pants and black dress boots to match. The entire outfit put an emphasis on his muscles, giving the illusion of greater strength then he had. Ren was also wearing gold and red, though her kimono was rather plain with a simple Phoneix motif. It was her favorite-- her wedding present from her mother and father. Her hair was up in a half-bun with a rather cute and traditional hair-piece and it bounced as she padded over in her geta to the trio. She wanted a better look at the girls, without her husband screaming that they were going to be late.
Sasanaemaru wore jeans and a T-shirt, but he had a plastic wrapped something hanging on a hook in his left hand. Apparently he would be getting changed once in the home.
Kara Winters Lin stepped out of the car, her feet softly touching the ground below her. The dark colourings with only a hint of silver (except for maybe the butterfly on the back, a tribute to her gift), made her look like night, or rather an assassin who forgot her weapons. She looked like she should have been carrying at least some sort of sharp pointy object, but Lin left those at home for obvious reasons. "As long as we're not late," she replied relieved to be out of the car, being with Quinn was annoying actually. She couldn't help but look Kin up and down, the colour suited him (but when did it not suit a fit male with Asian colourings?). He looked like a warrior, which was funny seeing as he wasn't really. "Do you wear that for the Lunar New Year as well?" she inquired of him. Fortunately she had been a child when the last Lunar New Year came around which meant her red and gold clothes no longer fit her. In fact the bracelet she wore was the third one she owed after growing, since jade bracelets by tradition were one whole piece meaning if you got fat or grew, there was no way to put it on.. or take if off if you were unfortunate enough.

Taking Lin Winters advice, I've gotten Blake a tutor that I can trust to teach him all of the essentials he'll need. I know that the Seconds learn very quickly so even now could be wasting precious moments of learning time. On that note, there is no way that I can ever teach him anything like reading or writing, because I don't even remember how I ever learned to do that! Ah, the disadvantages of such a long life . . .
Blake's tutor will be my nephew Vanila who is taking the last bit of his college courses right now to be a teacher. I hope that they will get along together.
--Niki
I need to get Blake a babysitter for when I'm around too, preferrably another parent who has Seconds themselves. He really needs to learn how to be social with others! That's something neither I nor Vanila could ever teach him.
