User ImageSunlight was slipping through the dense leaves above as the autumn sky shone down upon the world. It was rather obvious t was mid-morning even with the sprinkle of shadows upon the mildly moist grass below. If it was a lingering morning dew or from a previous days shower he wasn't certain, but it wasn't unpleasant. Theo found it to be quite calming in a way, as when the sun did shine through the blades sparkled slightly where the liquid was still present. Yes, a perfect sight for a morning stroll. Or so was his opinion on the matter.

It had mainly been the rather... busy, to say the least, breakfast that had prompted escape from the house. While it wasn't bad, after all Mize had made an excellent batch of eggs as part of the meal, it was a bit tiring. Even his brother had quickly fled for fear of being trampled by one of Nairou's frantic runs around the house, or perhaps Hex would sneak in as Mize had left for work. Whatever the case, it had seemed the best bet to evacuate. Especially with the prospect of hunting down his brother.

Something of a side agenda to the walk was to locate Alph, but as of the moment that had remained an unaccomplished goal. Perhaps due to the fact he'd had a head start on Theo, or that he hadn't exactly tried hard. In truth his brother was likely training, and while he enjoyed joining in, it seemed a bit early to do so. He was finding looking at the last blooming flowers, autumn leaves, and the dew far more enjoyable at the moment. Nature was something to behold in all it's glory.

A few more quiet minutes of walking passed, silent aside from t he sound of the kunkun brushing past grass and a twitter here and there of a bird. Most, it seemed, had run south though. It was getting colder wasn't it? Things were preparing to hide away for the following months once the sun hid away for a while. Mm, all would be still. Or so he thought, until the sudden rustle of leaves and the sight of a brown bushy tail rushing by ahead caused him to nearly lose his footing as it rushed off as quickly as it had appeared. "Ah-" Theo stood wide eyed a moment as what had happened registered, and he slowly regained composure silently chiding himself for being so childish. "Just a squirrel..." Certainly there wasn't anything dangerous in the woods, how silly of him.

Though in her younger years she did not seem to mind the wet grass sticking to her little feet, things had changed, and habits had been picked up. Elizabeth, her partner, had hated when grass stuck to her feet, and constantly (for the rest of the day) would complain about it. So, it had become a habit for Sofia to simply fly around after a natural shower, or if dew was still on the ground.

Lately, the kun made it a point to go outside atleast once everyday. Usually she kept herself locked inside, dreaming of days past and days to come. It was obvious that in these past several years, Sofia has a lot of time on her tiny hands. When some worked, others played, and it was long overdue that she got a break from the spotlight she had been in. But for this long? No wonder Elizabeth nagged her all the time!

A slight noise broke her thoughts, and she awoke back to reality. Looking around, she saw the same squirrel Theo had come across just before. Placing a hand over her heart, she sighed in relief. "Whew. You scared me..." Then, upon hearing another noise, she turned to see someone like her self coming across the way. Tilting her head slightly from curiosity, she began to look over his features. He looked safe enough.

"Hello!" Sofia called, waving a hand at him.

User ImageAs if the squirrel's sudden appearance wasn't enough, the sound of a relieved voice nearly tipped the previous recovery into a fall on the somewhat slick ground. Still, he'd managed to hold his ground, eyes darting to the new source even as it spoke up. It being a feminine kunkun, looking rather delicate. Although it was obvious she wasolder than he, perhaps even older than his brother, she didn't seem the least bit intimidating. which allowed for the brief uncertain face to be replaced with a smile as he shifted a hand to emerge from his cloak to wave back. "Good morning!"

He'd previously thought he stood out among all the green, but this kunkun definitely proved otherwise. Such a pale, yet bright thing against the natural green background certainly made her stand out. Perhaps even an angelic look, even if she was nothing of the sort. But certainly that was the proper description wasn't it? She held so many of the traits often given to an angel that all it seemed she lacked was the golden halo. And perhaps shining sparkles? Yes, an angel usually sparkled didn't it? Such holy beings had that quality.

"I've never seen you before." Which seemed obvious, although needed. How could he miss seeing something like her in the woods? Even if he himself was newer to them. "My name is Theo, what's yours?" As he spoke he let his hand drop, walking over at a brisk pace, a slightly curious smile on his face. As he had recently taken up residence, it seemed all the better to make friends, he hadn't met anyone beyond the household yet, certainly if she was as good a person as appearance suggested it would be nice to have her as a friend. Although, not everything should be based on appearance, he knew, it seemed hard to judge on actions at the moment.

A shy smile crept over her face, and she replied, "good morning to you as well!" Carefully, Sofia fluttered down to where he was standing and watched as he eyed her. A little giggle slipped through, and her hands went to her mouth.

"Oh, er....correct," was all she could say when he had never seen her before. "Usually, I am not up this early. Elizabeth tends to keep me up late." The shy smile turned into a grin, and Sofia remember that not only did he not know who Lizzy was, but did not know her own name! "P-Pardon me, I almost forgot to tell you my own name. It's Sofia, and it is very nice to meet you, Theo. Oh, and um...Elizabeth is my partner." Her pale face turned slightly red, and she shrugged.

For some reason, this meeting was a bit awkward for her. Why was she feeling so shy? Was it because she had just woken up half an hour earlier? Usually, she tried to be serious. What was happening now?

User ImageA mildly confused look crossed his face at the giggle, wondering if there was something peculiar, but rather rather question it he offered his own quiet laugh so not to stand out? Though it was a rather awkward noise that escaped him.

Oh, she wasn't a morning person normally? Up late? So they were night owls? That didn't seem entirely healthy, but to each their own. Even if it seemed unfitting for one who looked like an angel. Such was his opinion, best not to force it. "I love the morning, I can't imagine missing it." As well, it was only proper to wake up so early. It seemed that he didn't take much note to the odd name, as it was obviously someone she knew? Even if he didn't know them. "Sofia? That's a lovely name." And then there was the explanation of her partner, what kind? Perhaps like he and his brother often went on adventures together, that sort? But then... why was she blushing about it..? That seemed somewhat odd. "Oh, what do you and Elizabeth do together?" It was a harmless question to sate his own curiosity, but perhaps he should have left it.

Though a thought occurred to him. Perhaps his brother would have chided him for prying into personal affairs so, certainly some things were to be considered more private on the journeys they had done. It might have been the same with Ms. Sofia and Elizabeth. Though as well came the reminder of his side quest of sorts, and his face sudden changed from one of naive curiosity to that of realization. "Er, as well... might I ask if you've encountered my brother?" Then as he realized she wouldn't have the faintest idea who that was he waved his spoke up again. "Er, he has gray hair, and he's a bit taller than me, and he might have been practicing with his sword..." And there he went babbling just a bit, trailing off to a quieter tone as he listed a few more inaudible ways to label his brother along the way.

As it was, he'd completely missed the awkwardness the other kunkun felt, more caught up in his own thoughts and oblivious to much aside from what showed through clear as words on a book.

If her face was red before, it was almost purple now. When Theo inquired what they did "together," it sent her blushing to a color it had never been before. "Well you see," the female kun started, clearing her throat, "we go on picnics together, enjoy watching the clouds, err...other things that are peaceful like that." The blushing faded slightly, but not much. Scratching the back of her head, realization told her she better explain the partnership better. "Elizabeth and I are...what the humans would call bisexual." Again, she scratched the back of her head. Was it right to come out and just say it? She hoped so.

Then, Theo brought up his brother. It made Sofia think of her brother, but also her sister. It had been a long time since she had seen them...
"I cannot recall if I have met him or not. I am sure I would if I had." Blinking for a moment, she wondered if he was like her own brother. "Tell me about him."

User ImageDid people usually turn that color? He silently questioned it as he listened to Sofia speak, more concerned with the rather unfitting shade she was than what was said. As nice as it all sounded. "Oh, that all sounds pleasant." In truth he'd previously done such things himself more often, but as time passed he did have the time to do so nearly as often as he had previously. Though it seemed now that time would be more available. Less roaming around each day meant his time was open for other things.

And then there was the statement which earned a briefly puzzled look, then some realization. "So is that what you meant by..." It wasn't so much horror as just unease on his face. Afterall, he'd never thought of anything of the sort himself, but seeing as Sofia was older... it made sense? She must have been older than Alph, he never spoke of such things. "I... I thought something very different." He quickly looked ashamed of asking such a personal question. ""Please pardon that I'd intrude into something so personal." Even if he'd never meant to, it was quite rude of him.

Though that moment was quickly lost with the talk of his brother once more nodding silently. It made sense, there was a high chance he'd never even walked this way. He was about to drop it for the time being when she opened the flood gates by asking something of a doomed question. Afterall, there was no one in the world he looked up to more.

"Oh, Alph is great! He's very brave, and hard working. He's probably practicing now now as I said. In case we need to protect people we must be prepared, but I'm nowhere near as good as my brother." And it seemed he hadn't even begun as he took a breath, obviously having lost the previous guilt ridden feeling. Certainly he had much more to say, unless she took the chance to stop him.

Sofia just smiled when the male kunkun apologized, knowing that it must have been strange for him to hear. How many like them could be that way? She would return to that subject later.

Listening to Theo speak sweetly of his brother sent a ping in her heart. It had been a few years since the two had last met, and she really couldn't tell you why. Why so long? Was it because she was tired, and got scared?

It took a few moments before she realized he had stopped talking. Flittering her wings, she sent a sweet smile his way. Hopefully the wing thing would have woken Sofia from her thoughts...but it did not. She knew that she should better explain her situation.

"Um," she began, moving to sit on a nearby stone, "you see, I only began to feel that way when I met Elizabeth. I have not ever felt that way about anyone before...and doubt I ever will." The sweet smile continued to stay, but her eyes looked toward the ground. "I admire her a lot, though she is younger than me. She seems to always know what she wants, and works for it."

Then her expression turned to neutral, and she lifted her head to get a better view of Theo in the rising light. "Anyway, your brother is lucky to have such a nice little brother. I am sure he is proud of you, in whatever you do." Sofia winked at him, and gave a thumbs up gesture. "If you have more to tell me about him, I would love to hear it. You both seem very interesting."

User ImageIt hadn't been so much what she was, as the fact he'd never thought of such things that caused the response. Still, it seemed as if she wasn't upset with him as she allowed him to continue on. And the sbject had quickly been forgotten until it was brought up once more, causing the general look of discomfort at the subject he knew so little age. More due to age and simply being naive than anything.

In truth she was just explaining love, which wasn't so much a foreign concept as just... a different kind of love than he generally encountered or even thought of. Obviously she meant something other than close friends or familial love, which left him somewhat floundering. It was entirely different, even if some of it was the same. Rather than speaking up, he nodded a bit, trying to show he understood even if it escaped him at the same time. "It's... well it must be wonderful to feel that way for someone, all else regardless." Afterall, love was love?

Or so he thought anyway.

Seeming to realize she'd taken a seat herself, he shifted to sit on the grass, once again dismissing that it was a bit cold and damp as he arrange his cloak so not to trip on it. Still taking in all that she had stated. "What was realizing that like..? I mean... umm..." He paused, shaking his head a bit. "If you don't mind." Again curiosity had gotten the better of him. Though it seemed she wasn't too upset with his silly questions before, perhaps now would be no different.

He literally beamed at the statement, seeming overjoyed someone would think that. "I really hope so. I do try my hardest to do my best." He shifted a bit on the ground, obviously still rather excited with the statement as the prompt to begin again took effect. "Oh! Well yes." He briefly paused collecting his thoughts before starting. "Well, we both grew up among a group, but we're the only two who were related. We were all trained to protect others from a young age, so we're all somewhat good in various forms of combat. Everything from magic to sword fighting. I'm best with a bow, ut my brother can use both a rifle and a sword. Though neither of us has really actually fought much we left a while back to go try and fulfill our purpose of sorts. There's only so much to be learned in an enclosed setting." He paused, although it wasn't a secret... perhaps he shouldn't have said so much? "I honestly wouldn't be able to handle it out here" which obviously referred to the world away from his previous environment. "-if not for all my brother does to help me. It's really different..." In truth he did somewhat miss being there, but he had a job to do. Even if life would never be as simple as it had int he past.

"But... it just goes to prove how amazing Alph is. He can survive out here, and learned so quickly how to manage, how to handle things, just... everything." He nodded a bit. "He has goals, wants to make things better, he works so hard. I'm a lot like you in that I really admire that he's able to do things that way." In truth he felt there was no way he could compare, all he hoped to do was support his brother in his actions as best he could. No matter what it took.

"I think so," Sofia agreed, nodding. "All I know is that I care for her very much." She watched as he made himself a seat on the ground, and as he did so, he continued to inquire about how it all happened.

"Well," the kun started, trying to search her mind for the right answer, "one day I woke up and I felt different. My life had gotten to be so hectic, and I had lost myself in all the chaos. But that morning, I felt like...me again." A warm, thin smile formed over her lips, and she looked Theo straight in the eyes. She really did not mind him asking these question, as she knew she could trust him.

"I tried to think what had changed in my life. What made me feel happy again after so long? For a day or two, I repeatedly asked myself that. Then, after hours of endless pondering, I figured it out." Leaning in a bit, she reached out to grab his hand. Sofia hoped that one day he would understand, and knew that he probably would. He already loved his brother, and though different, he was on the right path. "I remembered I had met a young female who took the time to get to know me, as much as I tried to close up on her. Having her listen took all my troubles away. I knew then that it was my turn to get to know her, because she was different...because she had given me the same chance," Sofia gently released his hand, and placed her own in her lap.

"Because I just knew in my heart that I was falling in love with her."

Then her usual seriousness returned. It must have been because she was nervous earlier, having never talked to this stranger before. He was no longer a stranger now, though. He had a name, and it was Theo. He was becoming her friend.

Raising the hand from her lap, she made a gesture meaning that she was done with that subject. Not because she felt he was intruding, but because she could no longer tell anymore. She let her relationship with Elizabeth be what it was, never asking questions. Too much of a risk, Sofia thought to herself.

Plus, Sofia preferred to hear him talk about his brother whom he so looked up to. There was a special glow in his eyes when he talked about Alph. It reminded her of Cecilia when she would watch Peter play the piano, and she would just watch him for what seemed like forever.

"So were you two in a war or what?" she finally asked, putting hands on her hips. "It sure sounds like it, anyway. I am glad you two are alright! It must be very, very dangerous."

User ImageListening had always been one of his better traits, so it was easy enough to remain silent as she recounted her experience, trying to understand it to some degree. Which wasn't as easy as it sounded, after all love was a concept near impossible to explain. It just was.

He didn't fully understand what she meant by losing herself, certainly it made sense, but at the same time..? It seemed impossible to lose yourself entirely, couldn't a person only be who they were? Still, it was best to listen, perhaps it would make more sense in time. Certainly her story sounded like something out of a book, like you'd read about in the happy ending. Not to say he didn't think it could happen, just that it was a wonderful way for things to go. From being so lost and confused to so sure of herself, about something so confusing. There wasn't much to say even as she took his hands continuing along in her story, it was a picture book tale and things turned out well.

he waited until she finished, still smiling with a look of slight wonder on his face as the ends of the story tried to make sense. Even if parts seemed confusing, it still shone through that it had been a wondrous event for her, truly. "Love really is something so changing as it's rumored to be then." He finally said after waiting a few moments. "It turns lives around in such a positive way, it's truly something to treasure." What more could be said? "Just... amazing..." It was something of a breath as he finished, closing his eyes as he let the last bit sink in.

Though the silent reverence was soon broken by the question of war, bringing back a lot of troubling thoughts. In a way... it was? Two sides that couldn't get along, but at the same time he wasn't sure which was right anymore. That was what made it troubling. Certainly they had been raised for one sides aid, but he wasn't so sure. It wasn't all out war, just... small groups. "Mmm... well, yes and no? It was just that.... there are those who would see the downfall of others. So they should be stopped to protect everyone. But..." He paused, shaking his head. "Sometimes I wonder, but that's indecision. We, Alph and I, we have to be steady in our decisions." He decided to let it drop there, not wanting to delve into the topic of who was right or wrong further. Not when it seemed such a gray area at the moment. "We were trying to learn more, but it's not easy."

The actual question of danger caused him to nod slightly. "Yes, it is, but we were raised to be ready for such things." Which was true, what had all the training been for if not to prepare for such danger? "While fighting against things is quite different than sparring, it's something to adjust to with time. And while I'm nowhere near as good as one of the other's was, I did learn a bit of first aide." Perhaps part of the reason why he'd never been as good at fighting as his brother was the time he'd taken on other things, but regardless to that was the fact they managed. "We're both fine, so everything is well."

He paused, shaking his head a bit. "Er, but... please don't talk about it too much." He finally added, deciding perhaps he had said too much. It was meant to be something of a secret. "I don't know if I should have even said what I did..." Truth be told he'd thought little of it due to the fact she'd divulged such secrets of her life herself. Wouldn't it have been rude not to share some of his own? But if she told everyone... "Just... please keep it a secret?"

Sofia could tell he wanted to end the conversion of differences, violence, and danger. She nodded when Theo asked if she could keep it a secret, a hand over her heart. "I would not dream of telling anyone, even if you had not just asked me to. I know that what you just told me was personal." A smile brightened across her face, and she put a hand on his back. She was doing a lot of smiling today, it seemed.

Looking behind, she wondered if anyone else could be lurking around. It would be interesting if his brother stumbled upon them, and she could meet him in person. Alph seemed like a wonderful brother.

"So, why were you out so early this morning?" Sofia finally asked, curiosity engulfing her mind. The female kun had thought to ask earlier, but with all the other conversation, forgot.

User ImageHe let out a sigh of relief at the action. It really was a personal matter, and possibly dealt with safety? While there were those who might have thought to cause harm, wasn't it important they be able to defend themselves? It was a rather confusing subject for him really. Best to just avoid it, seeing as he prefered to avoid conflict as a whole as was. He offered a smile of his own up to the elder kunkun as she placed a hand on his back, showing he appreciated, and understood her words. "Thank you for that." For the less people knew, the less likely it was he would stumble upon those who were apparently enemies. And that meant less fighting as a whole.

He stared curiously a moment as Sofia's gaze seemed to travel off, listening to hear perhaps what she was looking at, then tilting his head slightly as if to try and see before she spoke up again.

That... had completely been forgotten. The question did bring back the thought that he'd been out, not only to enjoy the morning, but to seek his brother in the action. And escape the chaos that was bound to begin once Myze was out of sight. The kind, but stern, dragonkin was about all that could keep everyone from showing the differences they held. Probably due to the often shouted orders of 'QUIET OR GO SIT IN THE RAIN' she liked after a day on the job. Something of that sort anyway.

Still, that didn't answer the blond kunkuns question did it? "I was actually looking for Alph." He offered, glancing around briefly. "Not that I have any idea where he's off at, but I thought I might try." He added, smiling a bit. "He left a while before me, so I don't even know which way he went to be honest, it was just a guess to come in this direction." Truly, there was little to no chance of stumbling upon the other kunkun. Size comparison to the forest? It was like a needle in a haystack to find any kunkun in the woods.

"If you'd like," she offered, clasping her tiny hands in front of her chest, "I can help you search for him. I have wings, and if I fly up there, maybe I can spot him." Looking above, she noted all the tree tops, and how it could be hard for her to see him. "Though, I would still need you down here. You may find him before me, as some of these trees are very thick at the top."

As she waited for a response, she quickly wondered why Alph had left so early. Was he on a quest for something, so had a war started? Such ideas she thought to herself, are either none of your business or should not be worried about. In her mind she nodded, agreeing with herself. Some things are better left unasked and unanswered.

User ImageHe paused slightly in the general sweeping look he was giving the grass and tree trunks as she started to speak, looking in her direction instead. Afterall, it was only proper and polite to look at others when they were talking. Especially when they were offering to aide you in your minor quest of sorts. "Ah... well only if you truly don't mind. I mean, it would be a great help in finding him, but if you're busy I wouldn't want to bother you." He quickly replied, shifting to dig one hooved foot into the ground a bit awkwardly.

He quickly gave the woods one more look before deciding to offer further information, as an added incase she chose to change her mind based upon it. "I really don't know which direction he went, but it won't be far from Myze's. There wouldn't be much of a reason since it's probably just a walk or training. So I'm sure he's around somewhere nearby..." -maybe. It was more of a tossup and a hopeful assumption on his own part rather than a fact. Who knew if his brother had decided to roam off deep into the woods for solitude or not.
