for those who saw the fist anime and played the first set of video games
I was just finished watching it in my school's anime club (which I run. yay for me...anyways)
I was wonderig...
what (if any) is the relationship be between macha and mia....
like why was mia cring when she meet stukasa...
and why the cat tail regenareated...
(yeah I know it's kind of sounds like a noob-ish question...but can someone ansewer?)

Macha and Mia are actually the same person. The reason Mia is/was so attached to Elk is because he basically looked like Tsukasa with a palette swap.

But the problem with that is that Elk eventually went on to play The World R:2, playing the character Endrance. Even in R:2, Macha is attached to him. He even named his "cat" Mia.

Hmm. Don't forget the whole Aromatic Grass thing. I don't think it was just because Elk looked like Tsukasa, at least later on.
Besides, when Elk latches on to someone, is it even POSSIBLE to get away? I mean, seriously... confused

I think its because Macha got destroyed by Morganna. But then, CC Corp decided to put her back in the game, with some minor alterations, AKA: Mia. Because Mia was re-generated, she doesn't really "remember" her memories but they're still there, that's why she was crying when Tsukasa gave her the grass uh. . . thing.

If you're referring to the episide .hack//UNISON, that episode is completely and absolutely non-cannon.
