Ah, he had a break. He was done with his classes for the day and Nibal wasn't yet. Oh how rarely that seemed to happen. He had some paperwork, but that could be done later. "I should go get some coffee..." With that thought, he headed off to the teacher's lounge.
Once there, he sighed as he realized it was empty. No hot coworkers here. Just hot coffee. Well, it wasn't close to being the same, but it'd have to work. He got a mug and fixed a cup before sitting on the couch. Much more comfy than his desk chair. Maybe he should get a couch put in his office! It'd be handy for more than naps...

Back for just a few days, and already Raven wished she was back at the Institution. At least there people respected her, revered her expertise. Here she was pestered by children who barely even listened to her. But they would listen, and they would learn, by the time she was done.
And now she was done, for the moment. Much as she would have liked return to her apartment for a snack, she decided to stop by the teacher's office. Anoki had missed quite a bit of schoolwork while they were away, and she was determined to have him make it up as soon as possible, even if she had to rope a teacher or two into tutoring him.
So, as she entered the teacher's lounge, she was momentarily elated to find someone else there. Then, as she recognized who it was, her pleasure flickered out like a candle. "Instructor Coleman... it has been a while." Not long enough, in her opinion, but still. "Do you have a moment?"

Peri glanced up as he heard someone come in and he grinned. "Ah, yes. Too long. Come, sit!" He scooted to make space for the woman next to him. "For you, my dear, I've got all the time in the world." Oh, if Peri only knew how horrible those lines actually were.
"I haven't seen you around in a while. It's nice to see such a pretty face around here again." He grinned, digging away at his own grave.

Raven winced at Peri's choice of words, and then again as he made room for her on the couch. Much as she would have preferred to sit somewhere else, the teacher's lounge wasn't all that big. So she sat- as far away from him as possible- and arranged a sheaf of papers in her lap.
"I have been unavoidably detained by a crisis requiring my skills," she said blankly, having repeated the same thing ad nauseam since her return. "It has left me behind with my research, not to mention keeping up with the students. And it has left Anoki Kenelm in a far worse situation. That was what I wanted to discuss with you, Instructor."

"Oh, please, call me Peri, madam." The man smiled and scooted closer to Raven, leaving little space between them. "So you're worried about him falling behind? I'm sure he can catch up quickly. I could always have a few private lessons..." His tone insinuated that the private lessons would not be with Anoki if the man had his way.
He was glad they were alone. Well, except for the techs in the security booth watching the video feed. But, he could always give them something to watch.

Raven instinctively tried to scoot further away, and quickly hit the end of the couch. "Instructor Coleman," she said evenly, "seeing as ours is merely a business relationship, I would prefer keeping things professional. Since you are not a Professor, I believe that Instructor is the proper title to address you as, but please correct me if I am mistaken."
That taken care of, she continued briskly. "Your confidence in this student far exceeds my own. He has proven to be quite slow at grasping the most basic concepts. His lack of aptitude in your field is especially worrying. His dragon is most willful, and he is not able to control the creature as he should. What steps do you suggest he take? I had hoped private lessons would not be necessary, but if they are, they must start as soon as possible."

Peri's smile slipped a bit at Raven's hurtful words. "Well, he does have one of the more... chaotic dragons." He didn't really want to say evil. "But, if he was perhaps more assertive..."
Peri grinned. "Ah, but our relationship could be so much more... if we got down to 'business'." He winked, leaning in towards Raven. "And, perhaps you could call me your daddy."

He didn't have to say evil- Raven had already decided that. And as Peri's smile shrank, hers grew, just a fraction. "While he has shown some confidence in the time that we were... abroad, the likelihood of him being actually assertive is quite slim. There must be some kind of trick to it- and I would assume that if there is, you would know."
At first, she thought the conversation had been going fairly smoothly. Then, she looked up and found her fellow teacher right in her face. She froze, sucked in her breath, and narrowed her eyes. "What... did you just say?" she asked in a dangerously low voice.

Oh god. That was one scary as hell face! "Er, well, you know. I thought we could... get to know each other a little more... intimately. Deep down... And I'm good at deep." He grinned, looking anywhere but at that scary face. "So, what do you say?"

One eyebrow twitched. That was about all the motion Raven could handle at first. Then she smiled sweetly, and placed her hands on Perilas' shoulders. "You, Instructor, are about as deep as a petri dish, and far less interesting. Your memory is short as well- as I told you upon our first meeting, I am engaged- not to say that, were I not, I would have any interest in intimacy with someone such as you." Her smile turned cold, and she shoved Peri as hard as she could.
"Perhaps that will make this incident memorable, so that you do not make this mistake again. Unless you still think you were justified," she added, almost hoping he would try and talk himself out of it. It had been so long since she had let loose like this.

Peri's smile grew as Raven smiled and placed her hands on his shoulder. Alright! The insults went right over his head, but the shove was easy to understand. He chuckled. "I like it when the woman's rough!" He winked at Raven. "You know you want me."

Raven looked up, startled. "Were you not listening to a word I said?" she demanded, twisting away from his touch. "Not only am I bound to someone else, I am- I am out of your league, to use your terms, as is any woman with half a brain cell. What can I do to make you see that all you're doing is emarrassing yourself- and me- with these advances?"

Peri blinked, spreading out his arms. "Ah, but no woman is out of my league. I'm irresistible!" Or so he believed. "Now come to daddy." Peri grinned and winked at Raven, beckoning her forward with a finger.

For once, Raven was actually stupefied. How could anyone be so... moronic? And yet there he was, clearly believing what he was saying. It took Raven several seconds to think of any kind of reply, and when she did, it was hardly what she could call cutting.
"Why do you keep referring to yourself as 'daddy?' What sort of woman would want sexual relations with her father?"
No, not the best comeback, but the only thing Raven could come up with.

And that stumped Peri. "Er, well... I dunno. But lots of women say that when they're having sex with a hot stud like me. You can call me something else if you'd like." He grinned. "Maybe 'master' or 'sexy beast'."
"Now, come over here so I can spank you!"
