Marconius had been again spying on the mortals he found suitable for his gift. He had been spying on them nearly every night as he widdled the mental list down to an amount he could handle meeting at the same time, as it was likely to happen, not to mention he only wanted the best in his opinion.
After spying, observing in his opinion, on the mortals he had his choices narrowed to for the night he was making his way through the shadows toward his haven. The glow that surrounded the vampire was sure to give his presence away in the darkness even though it was highly unlikely another vampire would know just what clan or bloodline he was from much less who he was.
Moving through the shadows to his haven impossibly dark eyes looked around for anything he may find interesting enough to observe, not that he figured such would be around to see.
Soon he would send out his invitations and call those who's love for knowledge spoke to him. He would call them to him and his haven and taken them and give them his gift.

She had slipped out of the shadows just in time hearing the strictness of her mother's disciple in the clan. But really this female wasn't nothing but a clanless born to a clan member and though she wanted to remain in ties to Lasombra, Lydia sought more.
Generally soft spoken and polite she remained anonymous in her siblings eyes as she quietly sat reading many books within their perfected library. Perhaps one, or three times, maybe even over a hundred she read precious novels harboring information that soaked in like a sponge. But all good things come to and end so to speak leaving the female vampire to search for more knowledge on her own. She adored reading so very much but one thing she uncovered truly tickled and massaged her senses.
Stepping out in the night with her paleness as it shimmered under the moonlight she carried her favorite novel within her palm. Looking downward she repeated it slowly, the name familiar and full of remembrance.
McBeth.
Placing a paw over the cover embossed in gold she mused with a silent expression as the feeling of the leather bound creation made her sense tranquility and quietness. Pulling a cloak of shadow around her she was fortunate to be taught, Lydia opened her prized novel and began reading with the shine of moonlight her only lantern to read by.

It was while on his return to his haven that the lone female vampire was spotted. Interesting he thought while he moved into the shadows, letting the shadows envelope him as he watched and waited.
She was reading, not something to be expected but he would watch her as she read. There was something, familiar, she was not just a vampire but there was that darkness about her she was a Lasombra.
"A very good choice in reading, why not read something more historical." His voice was soft and calm as he spoke from his hiding spot within the shadows which hid him so well.
Reading had not seemed something a Lasombra would do often but this one seemed like she did quite a bit of reading and enjoyed it, some sort of pleasure was taken from it. She did not act like her fellow Lasombra, not from what he knew of the clan.

She had made the mistake of immersing herself in a book rather then paying attention to this other presence. Her eyes monotone with life glimmered as she heard his voice. Now she sensed the shadows yet he seemed unfamiliar.
"I'm not like them for they don't desire knowledge as I do. I assume reading your aura you are a shadow vampire as myself?" she asked politely now closing the book to pay more attention to this odd yet interesting vampire.
His appearance to her was simply gorgeous paling her own exquisite beauty by his sheer presence. He was ancient with his persona making her decide to be very careful in her approach or replies. The most stunning feature was his eyes which were intriguing and the way he dressed. She knew by written novels and myths within the library this well made creature was something clans only whispered of in stories and tales. She knew not his name but she knew the whispers about his particular clan.
It intrigued her to finally meet one that was merely fiction to Lasombra and other clans.
"I think with the full range of drama and intrigue... McBeth has been by far my favorite read since I began glancing through literature and books. Sure my mother has a vast library but yet there's so much more refinement that can be obtained in the world. Problem is I don't desire mingling with mortals nor tearing their throats out. I've never been one to partake in such activities. Therefore I go out on my own to find more to sate my knowledge even more." she nodded with a curtness toward him, "It is a pleasure to meet a whispered rumor that clans simply overlook."
She waited for his response and smiled softly wondering if he thought her odd or simply touched. Lydia just didn't want to associate herself with a clan she was born to even if she was destined for it. If something else took priority in her life other then Lasombra she was all for the notion.

Yes, a mistake but one which would not cost this vampire her unlife. He was not one to kill or loose his temper, oh no Kiasyd did not loose their cools.
"You desire knowledge, tell me of this desire. How much is it that you desire to know more of the world?" He asked as he did step out of his shadows letting them free from his hold on them. He was tall, taller then other fae's and his clothing was dark in a proper fashion and meticulously clean and well kept. His hair was drawn back at the nap of his neck and tied off with a ribbon at the end. The free locks of hair moved with ever movement he made as the smallest of air current did send his hair fluttering about.
He did not confirm her question if he were a shadow vampire, he did not speak so freely of himself, especially when compared to some.
As she spoke he could tell she was nothing like those of her clan, of his parent clan, but she was much like himself and those he would have in his bloodline she was refined and proper.
"You seem to know of which clan I hail, tell me which clan is it you believe I hail from young childe of the shadows." He spoke. If she knew she would be one of the few and she was young, she did indeed then study her history and lore.
A slender paw came up to brush his bangs back into place while the pale, glowing even, vampire stood watching the female Lasombra carefully taking in her appearance and demeanor, not to mention how she reacted to his words.

So mysterious and seclusive in her eyes though simply enchanting and powerful the way he held himself. He could sense she was born of her maiden clan and seemed to be testing her on things. Lydia was in no way a fool, in fact she was one of Aurora's first daughters with a knack for seeking and sensing things.
"What I desire" she began with her mind traveling for the right words, "is to learn so much more than I have been granted from my family. While they plot things I am elsewhere reading, writing, soaking in verses and qualms from wherever my mind can stretch and intake such precious written history. Though things in our library are quite quaint and rather boring to others I've learned and remembered various things about the clans." she spoke with her eyes glinting in deep thought. She would of given anything to graze her paws upon leather bound mysteries and doorways others would overlook.
Now his other question had perked her curiosity though she never showed excitement nor pure intrigue which would of been simply rude and uninviting to her companion she conversed with currently.
"I have read of verses and phrases speaking of a clan very much related yet separate to my blood clan. Able to enact and work with the fae you are powerful indeed. You are esteemed and elite upholding your genre with phrases and mentions that would shock and make others falter trying to decipher riddles and simplicity only you know" she spoke nodding curtly never in disrespect, though eager to murmur her sheer interest to finally meet someone so legendary.
"Knowledge. Much like myself you will collect and store information that is like a fountain. Never will there be a time that learning is not priority amongst your kind. You are rumored to have one of the biggest libraries in the world and yet it is a secret only you keep to yourself. Vampires of the clans whisper your existence and yet they deny any given scripture it is true" she now paused looking directly at him with wide deepened undead eyes, "Even in folklore and murmurs there is truth to everything. I give you much gratitude for conversing with a youngling such as myself. Your clan the Kiasyd is remarkable indeed."
She quieted then in fear her words had spoken before her tongue gave proper permission. She generally was so quiet but the mere fact a rumor was in flesh and blood before her was simply fascinating.

"I see, your desire is immense and not like those of your clan. This hunger of yours separates your from your fellow clan members." He was sure of this he knew much on the Lasombra and how their clan did operate after all the Lasombra had originally been the clan he had belonged to till the experiment so long ago which had changed him into what he now was, a Kiasyd among other things.
"You would devote your unlife to this knowledge you seek to understand and learn more." Marconius observed while watching her silently now. She indeed would be the sort to be content like that and already a vampire and set in her ways she was not likely to go and get involved in things such as young Kiasyd normally would. It was known amongst his clan, though really there were none left to his bloodline, that the youngest in their first years of unlife were very wild and prone to get involved in the very history one would normally seek to simply document.
"I see, you are intelligent believing in that grain of sand many would not. You have read much in vampire lore and history, especially of your clan, to learn of us. I will tell you what I would tell no other." As speaking of their bloodline was something a Kiasyd was known not to do they were too humble to do such, not to mention such things were best known by them and only them. "We are your clans bloodline, I am Marconius." He would speak more but not here, no not in the open.
"I will say your knowledge of us is correct, we carry the blood of the fae in us. And you are correct on my library and our thirst for knowledge." He himself was dedicated to reading and gaining more knowledge. "You are correct in everything you have spoken, come we shall walk." And go to his haven he would entertain this young vampire as a guest in his haven and entertain her properly rather then out here in the woods.
"We shall go to my haven, if you would like I have some very nice, old, blood properly mixed you may taste of when we arrive should you like." He spoke as he motioned her to follow him to his haven where they would indeed speak. "Your gratitude is accepted in kind young childe of the shadows, now tell me your name."

Lydia was indeed pleased he understood her words so fluently. While her parent clan had high hopes for her, the young female knew she belonged elsewhere. Like Dante she would sever herself and become merely a stained memory to her mother - one thing Lydia frowned upon but understood the consequence. She was indeed intelligent and knew from her in depth studies this clan would protect those they received and lead as their own. Lasombra were highly manipulative and ruthless whereas the Kiasyd were patient and calm when they became determined. Like herself they were different, as Lasombra were cut out of their own design.
Separation. Stepping into another realm past all you knew and yet understood so intensely it was like drinking a spiced blood. Lydia quivered with anticipation yet her form revealed nothing to betray her.
As he invited her to the haven that that rumored only a myth she nodded in high appreciation. Pondering for a moment of how unkempt she might look she paused running a paw through her long monotone tresses.
"I was born with the namesake Lydia van Alexandria as my mother deemed of me. We of the van Alexandria carry high prestige and always pass along our names." she answered with a curt nod finally content she wasn't a mess to be looked upon.
"I'd like very much to view your haven Sir..." she paused feeling akward, "In all due respect I'd like a namesake to call you by for though you seem familar my mind and tongue do not fathom such a prestigious and deep individual. Your clan's heritage is simply murmurings but I know now that you are indeed fact and not fiction." Her eyes watched him still intrigued by the circumstance at hand. Perhaps the vigil and gaze of Kiasyd made one spellstruck and merely unable to comprehend current thoughts. They were indeed quite powerful.
Motioning to him with the utmost politeness she'd now follow him to his haven.

Marconius could see little of the Lasombra in this fae who stood there speaking so calmly and with the knowledge and such manner she indeed was different then others of the Lasombra that was obvious to the weirdling, as his bloodline was often referred to.
He knew the idea going through his head was a dangerous one and not something he would normally even give any worth to but this Lasombra would indeed help his bloodline as it built itself up. She was of the Lasombra and they were his bloodlines parent clan, not that he had a care for clans nor sects himself. The fallout however would be less, or so he hoped. Because he was entertaining taking this well spoken fae into his bloodline making her a Kiasyd.
Listening to her tell him of her name and how her family name passed on he nodded his head once the information already being filed away for possible use later on, and simply for the sake of it being new knowledge.
Looking to her as he lead them toward his haven he spoke his name for her. "Marconius." He spoke his voice low as his pitch eyes focused on her to watch her reaction, being the observer that he was. "Indeed we are not fiction but fact, we simply are small in number and do not speak of ourselves." Nor did they seek out others more then was needed they preferred to watch things from a distance.

She could of been hanging herself as most mortals used that term when they were about to play with the fates and their lives. But Lydia wasn't mortal and she knew what her desire was at the moment. Here standing before her was an opening of the mind as if a gate inching wider to what her wants were whispering. A simple yet vast world of knowledge being offered to her by one older then time any fledging could ever fathom. Perhaps she felt unworthy secretly inside knowing her parents, the clan that would someday loathe her as she left for a whole new darkness. But really what did she have to gain in a world that seemed so unrealistic then her own ideals she commented back to her thoughts.
The sheer shock of the residence was simple plain even though its elegance was unsurpassed by even Lasombra's eloquent nature. It was like walking within a dream and she let herself be overtaken by such grandeur.
She made sure his name was forever imprinted within her mind. If she was indeed accepted as one of his own it would be exceptional in honor and respect to not forget one's name so grand. Pausing for a moment she breathed as her breath lingered out in a translucent swirl curling upwards to the night air, "It is... simply eloquent and appeasing Lord Marconius. I humble myself in your presence and hope you accept my arrival with distinct approval." She closed her eyes pausing as her paws placed upon a place where a mortal heart would have flourished with life, "I am honored you have invited me to your abode."
No more could be spoken that would escape from her quivering lips. She simply was in awe that a dream, a wish could come true. That is if vampires such as her kind could ever be worthy to accept such luxuries and welcome from a higher grand individual. She knew now her mind was stretching outward, simply longing to extract more knowledge than she could ever fathom ever existed.

Marconius knew he would not feel a thing for taking this one from her parent clan and bringing her into his bloodline. Though he also knew it would cause issues especially with their oldest awake, like he himself was. But he was willing to set such risks aside, and deal with them diplomatically at a later night, in favor of bringing someone into his bloodline who would bring much to the table, as mortals would put it.
He was in possession of a very simple yet elegant home, for right now. Already he planned to expand and find them a proper library to move into once his bloodline grew larger and gained more members. He would then be able to house more books as there would be more shelves, they could seek new tombs. The idea of more books sent something akin to a thrill up the ancient vampires spine. It would be a proper haven especially for one with children as he would have.
"Do not become used to this haven. For soon I shall seek out a large library to house my tombs and to place new ones as we find and gather them." He stated. This statement alone should tell her his intent to accept her into his bloodline, if she so wished it. He would not force it, that would be improper an action and he was proper almost above all.
"Your arrival, and company, are most acceptable." He spoke while pushing the door open and leading her down the dimly lite hall and into his library, his personal sanctuary.
"Welcome to my personal library, would some blood interest you?" A Kiasyd never drank from a living being. Rather they, the ones alive now and in the past, preferred to pour it from a container into a special goblet or crystal. They spiced their blood as well making it something special and most delicious.

To the young fledgling this domain set in a dream was more vast and laid out then her parent clan could of fathomed much less centered upon reality. To see the sheer number of knowledge of things supposedly written by dragons and water breathing rabbits was just so fascinating. Things mortals thought non-existent were binded in tomes filled with papers and documents so unseen by anyone except their keepers that guarded them well.
"A vast space or domain is not the key point to supreme knowledge My lord Marconious. While space is of essence, it is the knowledge the keepers protect that lies most precious. Whilst I am used to secrets and the like Kiasyd is so much more then the parent clan could ever fathom or simply admire should they take time to do so." she spoke with eloquent tones and recognizable words toward the great one before her.
While Lydia held no fear now stepping into his great house, never once would she ever think herself higher or more predictable then the presence she stood before. The fledgling held much respect for one such as her Lord never betraying admiration for vain or arrogant thoughts. She desired a rich knowledge her parent clan could never offer nor would they try to fulfill her in.
Coming back to her thoughts she nodded to him at the offer of Kiasyd blood set in the finest of settings amongst the most elaborate of knowledge.
My lord is so humble to offer one such as I a drink of those I admire. I accept with gratitude and thankfulness for your kindness."
She wanted to expel her happiness of his abode and library but she was very low key as her respect held much to be desired amongst such royalty and treasures of the mind. Knowing full well of his interest in her brought the young vampire knowledge that soon her time would finally be settled within the confines of her mind and all she could fathom in one sitting or for that matter many after.
Lydia would indeed enjoy her new life when she accepted it away from the troublesome past she grew and lived within.

"Indeed, the size of ones haven is not the most important thing. However, in this case it is. There will be more dwelling here and I do not believe this haven will hold all who will inhabit this place or the knowledge and tombs we shall gather here." New room, a larger, and far more suitable haven would soon be needed. There would be many more living here soon which meant more things to place in the library.
He knew it was not within the nature of a Kiasyd to share the same territory as another, he knew it more than any other, but he also knew that they could survive as a group in his haven and they would until they were strong enough to survive on their own. A childe was not one he would ever let off on their own, they would stay till he felt they were ready.
"I would be a very improper host if I did not offer you a drink." He spoke as he went to a cabinet, glass fronted, that he had in his library. Inside was spiced blood and two goblets made of crystal. He kept it here for whenever he had a guest or someone else equally important in here.
Pouring the two goblets full he closed up the decanter before closing the cabinet and with both goblets in hand padded toward her gracefully. Holding out one of the goblets to her, the one he used for other vampires, he sipped gently from his own.

As she sipped the sweetness aged as she settled into her own thoughts of endless possibilities. This atmosphere she was stepping within was both a comfort and excitement as it traveled throughout her subconscious and inner self so rapidly. Literally her own psychical self was going to jump in sheer happiness should he only ask of her to serve and protect his abode quite well. Expert in keeping secrets Lydia was not one to betray her true calling even if it contained certain death in store for her. But asking such a reward out of respect was indeed faulty and could end her up with nothing but a broken dream and perhaps a broken clavicle to accompany such a disgrace. Lasombra were no mere clan to toy with for they would bleed a soul faster then take a sip of their own devices to counteract.
"It is as they have murmured within the writings of my ancestors. Rich yet sweet with ages olde. Truly Marconius your clan is but a gem amongst the filth that are known as the higher creations. You've done well to preserve such wonderful memories m'lord." she spoke in her tongue on how admirable she was of this great lord. But, her own yearnings were kept silent to hold her standings among such a powerful yet graceful figure. Countess would of never treated a fledgling with such respect as she was now granted.
Being born of her clan she did have a peculiar downfall and that was what ran in her veins. Even the Countess had influenced her clan down to the smallest bloodline such as the ones not fully of the clan. Manipulative and forceful they truly got what they wanted rather if they deserved it.
"Sire would you be willing to accept myself as one of your own? I do value my parent clan but I feel that my future and protection lies within these molded walls". She paused then becoming silent cursing herself she wouldn't of asked something so obvious out right.
"You'll have to forgive my tongue for it speaks when I tell it to quiet. I did not mean you ill will or to gauge me differently for a simple statement. I figure if you are to ask me within your humble family and halls you shall do so of your own accord. I suppose the parent blood still resides within me that someday should be quelled for its impulsiveness."
Lydia then bit her tongue knowing she'd either be shunned or welcomed. What was done was done, there was no turning back beyond this point in time.

Watching the female sip at the blood he had poured for her he did the same. Obsidian eyes watched her calmly , as she spoke to him. Looking over the female vampire he was making up his mind about something, he was always thinking and considering things. He was a thinker and did not just do things for no reason.
He knew if he asked her what he was considering it would have massive ramifications, at least it was a possibility and highly likely. Nothing after all was for sure, but considering those involved he was nearly a hundred percent certain there would be massive ramifications.
That was one thing about his clan and himself, it was not age which determined how a Kiasyd was treated but rather what he or she knew. It was knowledge that garnered respect, and all were given respect. They were a clan of gentleman and proper ladies, all with refined manners. It was a wonder his bloodline was the off shot of the Lasombra, that once he himself had been a Lasombra, he was nothing like that clan but the ability over darkness was a throw back and proof to their parentage.
Setting his goblet down on a side table his dark eyes focused on Lydia. "My clan has not fared well in my absence. We are down to but a few of my blood. I seek to find the best, those who thirst for knowledge and dream of endless paged books." He spoke his voice calm and lacking in emotion.
Noting her words and reaction as she realized what she'd said he chuckled. A hand covering his mouth as he chuckled. "You need not apologize for your words infront of me childe. You have not spoken in a manner unfitting. You have spoken your mind and within this haven that is important. One should always speak their mind and opinion." It was often debates and discussions took place within his bloodline and so to speak ones mind was acceptable.
"I will admit I have been contemplating asking you if you would like to join the fold and become a member of my bloodline." He admitted fokding his fingers in his lap and watching her. "There would be many ramifications for such an action. You must know this, as I myself do. To ask to join you must know them well and be accepting of them, so I will not ask if you accept the consequences."
