I, personally do NOT like Herbie Hancock. It's more of fusion, and it kind of makes me mad when jazz newbs think herbie is the coolest because they have not heard anything else.
Please share your opinion.

Well I personally love Herbie because he's played through all the great eras of jazz. He may be well known for his albums like Headhunters but he got to play with Miles Davis in his early career! I appreciate his willingness to experiment with jazz and try to push his musical vocabulary using technology. Did you know that he started out as a classical musician?
Matter of fact the very first Herbie Hancock song i heard was Rock It and still remains to be one of my favorite songs by him ^^

He's not THE BEST JAZZ PLAYER AROUND. But he's pretty cool I like it. The 'fusion' thing you said is EXACTLY what I like about him.
