I bought a lynksys wireless g router thing for my macbook but the damn thing won't run. when i insert the CD, nothing happens. then i look around in the files to see if there is anything i can open it up with.... still nothing.

i have no idea what to do. i checked the linksys website, SEE BELOW, and they're just broad and when i tried their way nothing happened.

so i googled it and found a few... shady places. supposedly they work with okay results but WTF do i do? i want to hook this nig up to work with my macbook and my rroomy's. there are a few networks in this area so i know there are outside people hooking up to those.. bascially i don't want that to happen to us.

geeksquad was going to charge us 100 to set it up. there is no way i'm going to pay that.

if anyone can help, it would be awesome if you can chime in and help a noob in need.

it's some sort of setup cd rom. i checked on the website and it just said to double click the icon on the desktop then on device icon... it didn't do shet. i hooked up the router and it works with the ethernet... but when i got on, i noticed there was another computer connected. == GLARE N STARE so i disconnected it. i'm hooking up direct to my modem right now.

.... I had it too up until about 2 weeks ago, now we have the lynksys wireless N router... It's less epic fail, but still very fail. You spend hundreds of dollars for a piece of s**t that barely works!

I've got one of those bastards. I ended up having to call their goddamn customer support hotline to set it up. I suggest that you do that.

yeah i called them. they were trying to get me to pay 9 dollars for them to hook it up. PSH. they ended up walking me through it. so I'M TAKING A WIRELESS s**t RIGHT NOW.

this is DOPE. i've never had wireless before. we have it at school. but being able to hang out by the pool or in bed with the internets is awesome.
