Kuyoja recalled this particular student. The one who didn't like hitting girls. Not that he didn't disapprove of Lian's resolve, but then again he had been partnered up with a rather hot headed girl who was more aggresssive than he was.

Looking over his notes he noticed that he had taken another class with a teacher he had yet to meet. Not that it mattered to him, he moved at his own pace and today he would be improving Lian's knowledge on self defense. He was ready, matts placed, charts put up. He always believed the more knowledge you armed yourself with the better off you were.

Now he only had to wait for his student to arrive.

Indeed, it was Lian. He was rather relieved that this was a one-on-one session and that he didn't have to be ordered to beat the snot out of some girl. No matter how aggressive she was. When Dagger had been told, she had given him a Look and just patted him on the head. Rakha, for his part, had just smirked.

He shoved his way in and paused when he saw what teacher it was. ...augh. But he just made a face and pushed it further open, Xiao sliding in with him.

"Are you gonna make me punch a girl again? My mom looked at me like I was an idiot when I got home but if I had just whaled her, she would've smacked me when I got home."

That's right, Lian. Immediately remind him who you are and what you didn't do. Xiao just rolled her eyes.

He is not very smart, my boy. Kuyoja wouldn't understand her but, hey. It wouldn't hurt.

Kuyoja turned to face his student he looked down at him a moment listening to his complaint before completely ignoring the child to offer Xiao a curteous bow. He held a great respect for dragons it seemed.

He currently wore not shirt, a rather large dragon tattoo adorned most of his chest, it was asian in style. Pushing his glasses back up on the bridge of his nose he finally returned his attention to Lian before responding.

"Today your opponent will be a dummy. Unless you would rather I be your partner." He responded in turn, it was obvious that though he wasn't angry, he didn't approve of his students tone of voice. One part of him wished to lecture him on how gender did not mean much in the battle feild but kept his mouth shut on the subject. It wasn't exactly like there was a war happening. And even if there were he would need a whole lot more than just self defense...to keep him alive.

"we will focus primarily on striking techniques, aimed for the throat and eyes." He continued as he moved towards a dummy made of mostly stuffing.

That tone made the skin under the white fur go a dull red. He was rather immature and, yeah, he knew it, but to have it pointed out was something brand new. Besides - the guy had a huge tattoo. He could be a gangster! While that would be kind of cool, it was still rather scary.

"Ah - no. I think I can handling the attacking the dummy. There aren't any bo--Girl bits on it." He switched his language abruptly. No swearing in front of adult! 'Boobs' wasn't technically a swear word, he supposed, but it was still kind of inappropriate. He hopped back and forth from foot to foot, tail swishing cheerfully as he eyed the dummy.

Quick as anything, he was flicking with Kuyoja towards the dummy. "Like - karate chopping with my hand to it's throat? Poking out her eyes? Is it true that with six pounds of pressure to the temples, you can crush a persons skull?"

He paused.

"Can I learn that?"

Kuyoja was ...relieevd at the child's sudden change in attitude? Perhaps. The fact he stated that there couldn't be girl 'bits' on the dummy was interesting. He wondered what the child would of done if a girl had decided to give him a beat down.

Turning as a flurry of questions were flung at him, he only waited for him to go silent before starting to reply.

"Karate chopping as it were is one way, I am going to show you a much more simple technique. It is easy, doesn't allow for many openings and most begginers can master is quickly." He explained. Besides he would have to teach Lian the basics of karate and his focused on Taijitsu...

"Poking out an eye would need a large amount of force. We would mainly just poke at it hard to allow for you to either disrarm the person or to get away." he continued.

Whether Kuyoja believed it or not, Lian had been attempting a lame sort of joke when he had talked about the girl bits. He wasn't very good with that whole joking thing; Lian wasn't altogether the best when it came to socializing with people who weren't in his immediate group of adrenaline-junkies. Kuyoja was way too serious for his tastes.

Still, he grinned and wriggled his fingers cheerfully. "Maybe I could start punching walls like that chick from Kill Bill and learn how to do that." He chirped, giving Kuyoja another wide grin.

"Alright, so what do I do for the simple technique thingamajig?"

With his infinite patience the man listened as the boy spoke he then turned to face him. He didn't watch movies, nor television so the reference to this 'Kill Bill" character went above his head. He assumed of course that the 'chick' as it were was a woman who had some ...informal martial arts training of some sort.

Raising his hand he indicated that Lian was to mimick him. "First I will show you the proper way to hold you hand. Please hld your hand up with your fingers spread like this." he showed before moving to tuck his pinkey and the finger next to it down. Now it looked rather like the gun symbol, and he then tucked his thumb down so that it could lay atop the other two fingers. All was left was the index and pointer finger.

"By positioning your hand this way you can excert a lot of force with little risk of breaking your fingers." he instructed, waiting for Lian to follow in his example.

Poor teacher. Lian had been trying to joke around, to make some sort of mockery out of his own hesitations in the last class. But, apparently, his teasing was lost on the other male. Oh well. That's alright.

He sighed at the lack of reaction from his words, but raised his hands in order to follow the other. Lian looked down at his hands once they were properly in place, and studied them with a little frown. Another little flick and he flexed the middle and index finger. "Why's that? Are the other two so weak that they'd break or is that whole 'more pressure on small place makes bigger boom' sort of thing?"

"As you say it, the more focused the pressure the more impact you will have. Plus you will be more accurate." He explained patiently. He went to kneel down so that Lian could be eye level with him.

He pointed his fingers towards a spot near the base of his throat and tapped it twice. "This is one of the places you should aim for. The nerves here will trigger lose of feeling in the arm." He explained he then moved towards the center of the throat just above the collar bone.

"this will trigger a gag reflex in your opponent. " he continued. "Now try and find the spot on yourself." He instructed.

"I feel like Ryu of the North Star or something." His voice was a mutter, more to himself then anything, and he just stared down at the teacher. Lian was a bit tall for his age and lanky, so he wasn't quite sure what was going on. Was he going to have to call for an adult? This is something Dagger talked to him about.

'No means no' and things like that.

But he was obediant, and tapped his fingers against his throat as ordered.

"Do I just shove as hard as possible or pull it or..." He blinked at the teacher again, nose wrinkling up. "And the throat's a small target to aim for - can I aim from the side and still have the same thing happen? Or does it gotta be face on? Or - oooh! Can I put the person in a neck-hold and just jam it into their throat from behind. A reach around sorta thing?"

Kuyoja took in each question one at a time before he thought them over a moment. Though he heard the north star comment, since he had no idea how it was relevant to the class he dismissed it from the conversation.

"You would want to press it hard, but not continuously. You could cause some serious nerve damage." he replied to the first series of questions.

"And though it is small it isn't all the hard to aim for. Mostly because even if you miss that spot there are numerous pockets along the neck that could have a similar effect, though it wont be exactly the same. You will just cause a gag reflex rather than having their arm go numb." he continued.

"As well a neck hold can be difficult to get a person into, if you manage to do so you wouldn't need to use the move as wrapping your arm around their throat would block their airway..thusly immobilizing them effectively if a bit dangerously..." He finished as he then tapped under his chin where the jaw hinged together. "There are some places difficult to strike but can cause extreme pain if done properly."

"And aiming to hit the nose up is only allowable if I want them dead, right?" That was said in a suddenly serious tone. "My father told me that one. Only hit the nose down or two the side unless you need them to die. Does the sleeper hold kill them? That's the arm around the throat thing, isn't it?"

"Hey - D-corp gives us dragons. Does that mean they want us to kill people with them? Is what why they make us take self-defense and magic classes? Cause I don't want to kill people."

He paused then, and grinned. It was goofy. "Okay. So, neck hold. It immobilizes. And if I jab here," He tapped the same area on the jaw where Kuyoja did, "It screws with them. So is the neck, like, the easiest place to aim? Cause of air and nerves?"

Kuyoja looked at the boy wondering if he was hyped up on sugar...it only made him more happy he didn't allow his daughter any of the teeth rotting stuff.

"...I believe the facility gives you dragons so you can bond with them. It is up to you what you want to do with them....if you do not wish to fight then don't." He replied about the having dragnos to kill people. He himself wasn't sure the reasoning though he made a mental note to ask.

"Effectively you could kill someone holding them that way. By either suffocation or by using your other hand to reach around and twist their head to break their neck." He explained before looking down at the kid again, taking in the latest question he thought a moment on it before replying.

"You can consider the neck one of the most vunerable places. It is hard to protect and in many ways can used against a person. By suffofcaton, or pressure points." He continued with a nod of his head.

"But I am hoping you will never be forced to put someone in a neck hold. Done inccorectly you could cause serious damage."

"Why would we bond with them if there wasn't a reason for us to bond with um, though? I love Xiao and all," She gave a pleased hum at that, "But if I'd never known her, I wouldn't want her at all. Right? And dragons have to be expensive to keep. So I was just wondering."

He shrugged carelessly, allowing Kuyoja to take that as he wanted, and just shrugged at the dummy.

"Can you teach me where to punch to make someone throw up? Or, like, I dunno. Get them on the ground without putting them in danger of death. If someone was going after Emi or something, I'd totally beat their a** until they couldn't move, but if they were just going after me and I didn't want to kill them... What would I do?"

Lian made a face again, and looked to Kuyoja.

"I'd totally hit a girl now, though. I went home and told Dagger what happened and she totally kicked my a**. Said that if I had to hit a girl because she was going after me, it was alright. She was kinda beat on when she was a kid, see, and she pounded it into my head when she took me in that if I ever hit a girl, she'd hurt me. And I like girls. So. Uhm. Yeah, just thought I'd bring that up."

For onces the man's eyes narrowed, he looked...angry or at the very least displeased.

"Dragons are creatures that deserve our respect, they are all beautiful, majestic and wise in their own ways. You should be honored to be caring for one." He replied his tone even, though there was a hint of anger in his words.

"And you should not want to kill anyone. Not unless it is a last possible resort." He continued the tone lessoning as he continued to speak.

"As well I am glad your gaurdian informed you that protecting yourself against others regardless of ...gender is acceptable." He finished as he then shook his head slowly.

"No..I will not teach you such a violent move. You are to subdue not cause extreme and uneceassy pain. This is a defense class..." He finished looking down at the child wondering if he was taking the class seriously.
