Kuyoja was outside this time, wanting to enjoy the last remnants of summer weather he wore his traditional gi and was once again shoeless. There were several matts he had dragged outside as well his clipboard that seemed to follow him everywhere.
Adjusting his glasses on his face he for once considered getting the lazy eye surgery but then dismissed the thought immediately. One should jsut accept who they were in his opinion. And it wasn't like his glasses hindered him any.
Stretching in the warm autumn sun he waited for his student. A girl named Emi, from what he cuold tell this was her first melee class. He would meet her...and then decide what he would teach her.

For once, she was in pants. When Dagger heard that she was going to a melee class, she had insisted the girl take that time off from dancing and go to school wearing something other then a leotard. Pants, at that. They were made of a soft silk-like fabric and slightly loose around her legs. Emi liked that they fluttered. Her hair was pulled back as well and Odette lurked about like a multi-colored, protective feather boa.
She saw Kuyoja by himself and headed towards him. Her steps were cautious, toe to heel very gently. Her voice was even a peep from behind him.
"..T-Teacher?" Emi said. Odette fluttered, watched from behind her. "I- I'm Emi."

Turning the man looked down at the young girl, she was thin but not in the sickly sense. He could tell just by looking her over that she was lithe and probably very agile on her feet. He then turned his attention to Odette, giving the dragon a bow before speaking to Emi.
"I am Mr. Tsuzuki, I will be teaching you battle techniques today. I noticed this is your first class on the subject. I am open for suggestions on what you would like to learn, if there was anything specific." He started as he liked that his students enjoy his classes even if they were to be taken seriously.

Odette seemed complacent with the bow; she approved of any sort of flattery, and that certianly worked! She fluffed in her contentment and slid away from her girl and her teacher. Emi stood there quietly, her face flushing as her shield of a dragon left her by herself.
"Hello, Mr. Tsuzuki." Her hands fluttered helplessly in the air, eyes moving from his feet to his head. Hmm. Well... "Can.. Can you show me how to keep someone from hurting themselves? I-I mean-"
Emi was bright red by now. She sounded stupid, and she knew it, but it wasn't as if she could stop her stuttering. It was easier to talk gracefully when she knew them and this one, all big and quiet and kind of like her Daddy Rakha, set her slightly off guard.
"I mean-" She took a deep breath and, even though her face was head, cocked her chin up gently so it was parallel to the ground, and met his eyes. "How can I disarm someone? S-So they won't hurt themselves? Or.. or maybe, if they have a weapon?"

Kuyoja looked to the girl, his gaze was steady though there was no hostility in it, his rather serious face seemed to say otherwise. Disarming? Curious he wondered if the girl had come across someone who was weilding weapons.
"Disarming, weapons...is tricky and dangerous. For it means you have to be close to the person. And depending on the weapon you may only be able to disarm them with a weapon of your own. For example spears have such a long reach it would be nearly impossible to just go up to them and force them to drop it. As well it is a two handed weapon...so you would have two hands....to disarm. Guns are fairly simple if you can once again get close enough. Was there a specific weapon you were thinking of?" he asked his brain thinking on how he was going to teach this class without risk of hurting the child. Not that he was going to swing a weapon at her.

Her face only flushed more as he studied her. Emi bowed her head for a moment, finally peeking up at him at the question. At least he wasn't sending her to the psychologist for being endangered or anything. Dagger wouldn't have been too hppy if that had happened.
"No. There's this - this boy. He's never hurt me but he's very..." Emi stilled for a moment, her eyes on Kuyoja. For a moment, she just looked at him helplessly. "He's angry now and has a dragon. He might try to do something that isn't - that isn't very good someday. I want to learn how to.. To..."
She tapered off, face twisting up into a frustrated frown.
"I mean - I want to be able to get him to stop. Keep him from hurting himself or anyone. Something until the anger goes away."

Kuyoja nodded his head slowly, "Perhaps holds or pinning techniques then? Most police officers know an array of holds and pins to prevent a suspect from hurting people. I am sure there are some holds or pins I can show you. Holds though would be more effective for someone of your size and stature as pins rely mainly on an weight advantage" he explained as he looked Emi over and nodded his head again.
"Would you like to practice arm holds then?"

"He's as tall as me but.. anger makes people stronger." She nodded as well, spindly little fingers twisting together in momentary hesitation. Learning to take down Keivlos.. She didn't want to hurt him. He hasn't done anything bad. He could, though. The dark bird had never hurt her - intentionally - but he was strong and angry and he had a violent dragon on his side. It frightened her.
Emi wanted to help him.
Another hesitation, and a small timid smile. "Please? I'd like to learn."

Moving the man went to stand behind Emi, he then circled around her, trying to figure the best way of showing her typical holds. "The most basic arm holds is to grab by the wrist and jerk it behind their back and pin it up, the hand as close to the base of their neck as possible."
He explained as he finally came to a stop in front of her again. "It will cause a bit of pain, but usually it is too awkward to try and get out of." He explained. He then went to kneel down so he was eye level..or at least..somewhat eye level with her.
"Would you like to try it on me?"

Emi stood perfectly still as Kuyoja circled around her, although her wings trembled just a bit. He was bigger and stronger then she was and could break her appendages off if he so wanted to. But - she trusted him. He was a teacher.
"I think I've seen those before. My Daddy likes to practice things, sometimes, so... so I might have seen them." She nodded slowly, and cocked her head to one side. It was the movement a small bird may do, not a swan, but it was all she knew.
"Alright. I'll try."

Kuyoja nodded his head as he kneeled down so she could have better access at his limbs. He relaxed his body so that she wouldn't have such a difficult time moving his arms.
"I want you to take one of my hands and put it behind my back like i instructed. I will be able to tell by how it feels if you are doing it correctly." He instructed, he wouldn't resist, this was after all a lesson. He couldn't very well teach by forcing them to learn the hard way first.

Emi studied him for a minute, her lips pulling into a frown of concentration. She wasn't hesitating, by any means. Fighting seemed to be a lot like dancing, from what she had seen. Rakha had practiced in front of her, she had seen Cleo practicing with Tyven, and Rapier had brandished some weaponry before her as well. It was fluidity, and being quick.
After that little pause, she darted closer to her teacher, grabbed his arm, and twisted it behind his back. That had been in movies she had watched with Lian. It was easy. She didn't feel anything snap.

Kuyoja nodded his head, thoguh he idnd't feel the twinge of pain he knew at least the girl wasn't going to be timid about it. He shifted a bit as his arm was being awkwardly held behind his back.
"Very good, you would need to pull my arm a bit higher, as if right now though it would be awkward I could still manage to out muscle you and be ble to pull my arm free." He explained patiently. There was something satisfying about teaching a young girl self defense, even if this was merly holding techniques.

In response, she raised his arm a bit higher with a tight grip. "Like this?" her words were softly spoken, and almost innocent, eyes on the back of Kuyojas head.
"If someone pulls me into this, is there anyway to escape? Kicking or anything like that? I'm small. Not strong. My legs are, though. I dance."

He felt the twinge of pain grow as she pulled his arm up higher, being stronger than he he could probably force his way out of the hold but as this was a teaching experience he saw no reason to do so.
"Escaping would be...awkward and difficult, if you are extremely flexible you may b able to twist your way out of the hold, otherwise brute strength could work well." He replied to her question.
"Most police officers would move after doing this hold to pin the person to the ground, it would prevent the opponent from being able to get out of the hold nearly completely." He continued. "Any questions?"
