Umm... yeah, I've always been okay by my sexuality. (Bisexual but more into women) But, then one day, I went to church with a cousin of mine (She'd been begging me to go) And while I was there... I was touched by the Holy Ghost. In her church, I was officially saved. So, now I'm really confused. I still don't care much for men, and I still find myself crushing on other girls... I've read everything I could find about gays in the bible and it's not really helpful. It'll say it's an abomination and stuff, but for an example of homosexuality, it'll have a group of men asking for the men of a house so that they may know him (i.e. rape them) There's two I've found so far with this: It happens once to Noah and again to Lot's visitor (both are in Genesis.) I don't know, I feel just fine with being myself, but... What do others think?

Well, here's my thought on that. First of all, does it not say in the bible that God loves ALL of his children? He does not exclude the infirm, the old, the insane or those who lead a different lifestyle. GOD loves us as we are, not as MAN wants us to be. Second, look in the wild. there are animals who choose an alternate lifestyle. Sure, it doesn't happen often as this would not be healthy for the species as a whole, but the point is that it happens. A Prime example of this is at the Indianapolis Zoo in Indiana. They had a pair of gay penguins. Hope this helps....Lord knows I've gone through my fair share of fire and flames before I came to terms with my religion and life.

Hope this helps....Lord knows I've gone through my fair share of fire and flames before I came to terms with my religion and life. That's true about animals. But I've always been taught that it didn't matter whether they were gay or not because they don't have the mental capacity to know right from wrong. It doesn't give any real examples of gay couples in the Bible, so I should try not to condemn myself. Out of curiosity, how do you manage to come to terms with your religion? Sometimes, it feels like I just can't do anything right...

I personally believe in God, not the church. When I say that, I'm more referring to history. During the middle ages, the Catholic Church reigned supreme. In order to maintain their rule, they suppressed anyone different, including women, homosexuals, and different religions. I believe that the Catholic Church adjusted the Bible in order to fit their purposes. Considering before Gutenburg's press, it was completely handwritten, and the common person couldn't read it, then they would have at least had the chance.

Just Before An Eclipse I personally believe in God, not the church. That's right! They could've changed it without anyone ever knowing. I've been thinking about this ever since I wrote it, and I've been thinking a lot. Especially the whole gay penguins thing. If homosexuality is considered evil, then should animals even be able to become gay? And since back in the middle ages, and well, even earlier on, only a certain few people could read the Bible, so then it was probably changed around! Now that I think about it, there was something on CNN... about how they found some parchment pieces with the missing parts of the Bible or something? It dealt with women's roles and stuff... So, why isn't that added into all the Bibles? Hm... I think I'm getting better about this now.
