I'm thinking part of what makes Steampunk so interesting to me is that it's one of the most extreme types of excapism out there. It's even more wonderfully obscure than furries. I'm not really sure if that's a good or bad thing, but moving on!

I was recently watching the new HBO show "True Blood". It's about a bunch of hicks in Louisiana dealing with vampires "coming out of the coffin", and hanging out in a bar called "Fangtasia", after the invention of synthetic blood by those clever japanese. I kidd you not.

It's terrible. It's wonderful. Like my other favorite "The Secret Diary of a Call Girl" on Showtime/ITV it's something to watch when your mind needs to sleep.

So what're your favorites? They don't have to be currently airing, I'm just curious.

I like True Blood, Gossip Girl, Lipstick Jungle, and the new 90210....

I am fully owning up to the fact that I have terrible taste when it comes to the tele, but I can't sit through medical shows cause they make me queezy and I can't sit through cop or law shows cause they just don't hold me.

I feel the burning need to watch True Blood now... Synthetic blood? Egads.
I honestly don't watch much television, although I actually used to use Gilmore Girls as a sort of escape. Life in that show just seemed wonderful.

I love the fast talkery on that show

It almost reminds me of the sort you heard on Firefly, except that I hear that occasionally people still speak similiar to what's shown on True Blood...

I never thought of Gilmore Girls as being a sort of escape, but it's sort of like an inverse Brady Bunch now that you mention it.

If you think about it, anything could be used as an escape.
But now that you mention it... Whedon was most certainly my drug of choice. Still is.

Ohhh my, CSI is completely addicting. I'm a Library Science major, but I took all my electives in Anthropology so in lab I can be like "OMG I ARE CSI." Seriously though, I'm way too squeamish to do anything like that for real.

I will admit, I love the show Idea Movers. It's a silly kids show on Disney channel, but it makes me happy. They're like the Wiggles, but don't freak me out as much and they only have one puppet.

The Disney Channel? That's great, they have this litle kids show about Tinkerbell and her friends that I keep watching. I am such a pansy gonk

Ok, now about Mr. Compton: what on earth? Were they having sex or was he just catching a quick bedtime snack?!

lol my roomates and I were debating on weather that stage blood tasted cherry, minty (like my high schools fake blood was flavored) or if it was plain sugar flavor. By the cogs we're a morbid lot.

I can't believe I just made a post both about animated fairies and demonic sex rolleyes

Guess tonight all questions will be answered, as enough lovely people down in America would have TeVo'd it for me.

I imagine it would be bubblegum flavoured, as it seems so many things suspiciously are.

I figured it tasted like regular blood. You know, tutti-frutti.
