Soaring over the western edges of the Scrub Forest, Articuno took in a deep breath as he gazed down at the trees far below. It was quite a sight that he enjoyed, and it was the home to many aviadrachus. Clinging to his backside was his salamander, which just tried not to fall off for now. And flying by was his vibrant mimicgryph who also enjoyed the scenery below.

Slowly, the panavia began to descend, with his feathered tail wavering in the air behind him. It was then that the salamander began to slip off, before loosing its grip and beginning to fall.

Alarmed at this, Articuno began to dive down to try to catch the free-falling firey lizard before it would crash into the ground.

Rashmi was just enjoying a nice day flying over the Scrub Forest when she felt something very cold and sticky fall on her back. alarmed by the sudden chill she began thrashing around to knock the hitchhiker off. after she wore herself out from recklessly thrashing she glanced back to see a trembling salamander, and a large male P'anavia flying at her. Quickly searching for a place to land she began descending down to the earth, and lands near a stream.

"i think i found a friend of yours..." Rashmi chuckled.

The poor little Salamander was quite terrified at this moment, nearly losing its life and all. Having landed on the back of another painter, it just clung onto its new ride's back for dear life, not wanting to slip off yet again.

Articuno was getting close to catching his amphibious companion but soon slowed his flight as he saw a common female catch the little critter. Though whether or not that catch was intentional was beyond him. Still, he was glad that he didn't end up losing the Salamander for good.

Landing onto the ground nearby, he let out a sigh before watching the lizard scamper over towards him once again. As the Salamander scurried up and clung to his foreleg, his other familiar landed on top one of his horns.

"Yes.. and I thank you for that," he said with a slight nod, "For a moment I thought I may have lost him."

Rashmi smiled and bowed slightly, "Glad i could return him to you! i'm Rashmi, by the way..." she stood up and tilted her head in curiousity while looking at the odd creature on the beautiful blue painters horn and questioned, "What's that?"

"And I'm Articuno."

At the question, he glanced up at the creature that rested on his horns and grinned faintly. And just as he was about to introduce her, the mimicgryph decided to speak up for herself. However she started to sputter out in another language altogether.

"Hajime mashite, Watashi wa Frio desu! Douzo yoroshiku!"

With a slight frown, Articuno sighed, "Wrong language Frio.."

Turning back towards Rashimi, he went on with the introductions.

"This is Frio, a Vibrant Mimicgryph. The Salamander that you've.. run into is named Pagos."

Rashmi squealed in excitement, "Awww, she speaks Japanese!" she suddenly drops down on the ground and curls up around her body, "I wish I could speak Japanese..." her eyes drooped and she sighed dreaming about the day she learned Japanese…

Anyways,” she leaped up and smiled, “it’s a pleasure to meet you Articuno!” she then frowned and looked away from him, “I kind of got lost, but then again…. I don’t know where I‘m going, so could you be ever so kind as to direct me to… the nearest…,“ she began glancing around, “eh… ” Rashmi sighed and closed her eyes, “never mind…. I don’t even know where I‘m going so I don’t see you could direct me anywhere…” she rose from the hard sand and began trudging downstream with her head hanging, “I guess I‘ll be on my way then, nice to meet you again…

Blinking at the sudden switch between being enthusiastic to being rather disheartened to some extent, Articuno let out a small sigh. He watched her walk off a little longer before speaking up.

"Hold on. I'm pretty familiar with this area. Do you have any sort of idea of where you want to be exactly? If so I could help you out."

Seeing how Rashmi had helped him some, he didn't see any harm in returning the favor. Not to mention that he didn't really like to see others stressing much over problems they may have.

Rashmi stared at Articuno for a moment then replied, "Y'know, I really don't know where to go... I'm kind of wandering."

She looked around in all directions, "if you wouldnt mind... or if you know could you tell me whats to the north of here?"

"We're in teh Scrub Forest right now. North of here are the Jungles of Sleep. You won't find many painters up there though.."

Articuno paused for a moment, recalling some tales of some of the things that seemed to lurk in that jungle. He had never really gone there himself, so he couldn't say for sure if such myths were true. Shaking his head, he turned his attention back towards Rashmi.

"We're also not too far from the Sandpainter Canyon, if that helps you out."

Rashmi pondered about where to go, "hmmm, well that sounds interesting enough! Looks like I'm going to Sandpainter Canyon!"

She then stood up and spread her wings, "Well, thanks for the help. Guess I'll be seeing you around."

She took flight, heading east to the Sandpainter Canyon.
