welllll... I am in the Pro-Life guild, so I am against abortion. But then I go and play Gears of War, where your guy can smash some dudes brains across the sidewalk with his boot, all the while rocking out to Bad Brains, a Punk Band that is reggae at heart(think of metallica, with Bob Marley lyrics-O_O). all of this unneccesary killing in video games goes against all of the things that I believe in. The whole thing is I am a 14 year old dude-I like to play video games...and it is in human nature to enjoy violence, ever since the blasted Roman empire was constructed. anyway, is it wrong for me to, since I disagree with the killing of the innocent?

Video games =/= reality.
Playing a violent game is not the same as being violent. Reading a book about elves does not make you an elf. Reading a book about the germans in WWII doesn't make you a nazi. Playing a video game about shooting people does not make you a person who would shoot people.

It's not bad at all. Not just because videogames aren't real, but also consider that it will not make you less pro-life, or a hypocrite. (Not that you said that; it's simply what I gathered from your post.)
I play GTA for the sole purpose of mowing down pedestrians. If you get it just right, you can make them stick to walls where you smashed their bodies in! ^ ^ If videogames weren't violent, they'd be worthless, except for strategy games like Roller Coaster Tycoon. And if playing violent videogames does make you a hypocrite, then the rest of us are hypocrites too. So what? As long as we work to illegalize abortion, saving the lives of actual existing humans, we're pro-life enough to get our job done, aren't we? 3nodding

xd
It's not real. Playing violent video games can be fun specifically because it's something you'd never do.

Quote: since I disagree with the killing of the innocent? I'm pretty sure those alien things in GoW are quite guilty.

And Seraph has successfully summarized my feelings on this matter perfectly.
Playing violent video games is one thing. Confusing them with reality is another.

Woah. I didn't know that everyone played such violent video games. and kp is devi, the Locust do deserve to get there head smashed into the ground. I once played GTA kind of creeped me out The only thing I want to do in that game is take a motorcycle, and get into a drive by with the police where I have a guy with an RPG on the back. Demented, yes, but i have issues with the system

The UN? Except, don't call it the United Nations, call it something else. Um. Untied Napkins? Unnamed Notions? I like that one. Unnamed Notions.

Yes, I agree that it's just a game and not reality. Now if someone is easily influenced, they probably shouldn't play games like that but most people don't go out and really hurt people after play a game. Don't worry about it but if it really bothers you, maybe find a different, less violent game. Most of the games I play aren't that bad, usually Final Fantasy or some other RPG.
