Pave carried Mos on her hip and walked casually into the HQ. Mary tagged along behind, a new common fixture at all HQ meetings that involved the Chaos family. Mos sat down on a chair next to Pave and settled in. He knew this was going to be a fun day. The HQ was always fun. He looked around. Nobody was there yet, but Pave wouldn't have dragged him away from Winnie The Pooh's Honey Hunt unless there was something interesting to do.

A potential interest source came in through the door not too much after Pave and Mos, along with Mary, got installed. Mya came in, carrying her black backpack behind instead of Dante, who usually liked to perch herself on her caretaker's shoulders.

No, Dante was enjoying the walk with Tayten a bit behind Mya, a pair of sandles on her feet. After all, she wouldn't be walking on her barefeet for the rest of her life, right? The ToR was playing with a hoop, making it spin on her hands with almost next to no effort, visibly entertainned.

"Hi Pave!" Mya greeted, smilling to her and Mos as she sat down next to Pave, putting her bag next to her knees.

Pave looked up and grinned. "Hi Mya." She replied. "How are you doing?" She looked over. Mya had brought Dante and Tayten. Did this mean another ride for Mos?

Mos looked up at Mya, then to Dante. His face split into a wide smile. He scrambled off his chair and hurried over to her. He put his hand in front of her face so she knew someone was there. He smiled up at Tayten for a second, but returned his gaze to Dante.

Even though Tayten was pleased with Mos' attitude, Dante didn't like it that much. She knew perfectly well where he was the moment they came in, as her sensing skill was upgraded almost by the second (even if it was by little little LITTLE bits...), where she could now distinguish people from each other. At least those she knew. So his reception got her a small bored frown, even though she didn't maintain it for long. After all, she had a perspective of a good time ahead. They just had to try and do what she had presenced earlier... "Know circus?" the infant asked confidently, stopping the hoop to stay still on her hand.

"Trying to find time between work, taking Dante out and arguing with the other Dante..." Mya said, half smilling. She had hated that situation since the beginning, but only now she was beginning to wish she had a shoulder to lean on to let her rants flow freely or just to give her that much needed confort. Yup, she missed being in a family. A lot. Meanwhile, she opened her pack, glows coming from the inside while she shuffled through it, looking for something.

Mos looked quizzically at Dante, dropping his arm. "No?" He asked curiously. The word ran through his mind...Circus, circus, circus. A word came to mind, "Stulta!" Circuses were silly, right? He clapped his hands and nodded. But what did circus have to do with Dante?

"Erm, your backpack is...glowing." Pave looked interestedly at it. "Er...why?"
PostPosted: Wed Oct 05, 2005 2:28 pm

"Never went to circus?" Tayten squawked, giving her wings a flap. "It's really fun, with all the animals, and the people who do all sorts of things like juggling and walking on a rope, and the clowns!" Her baby blue eyes lit up instantaneously at the mention of the clowns. Wonder why...

Dante gave a little push to the Griff to make her shut up the incomprehensible babbling she had gone into at the speed of light and set the hoop on her side, making a way for Tayten to pass through as she looked to Mos. "Animals do tricks with things like this. And shiny person spin it too! We go today!" she explained, staying completly still as she spoke, as if concentrating.

From inside the zipper, Mya pulled out a chisel, a small hammer and a piece of slightly singed cloth, laying the tools on her legs. The metal of the chisel and the middle of the fabric had little shinning shards on them, giving them a faint glower as well. "Hmmm? Oh, it's my work! I usually keep it on my shop, but since I've been slacking some I have to take it home today." she explained, sticking one of her hands back inside.

Mos looked at the hoop. It was bright and captivated his attention for a second. Then Dante said they were going. "Dante iri vidi stulta?" He asked. If Dante was going to see silly clowns, did that mean Mos was too? He looked up at his mother and repeated his question. She seemed engrossed in Dante's mother's glowing back pack. Mos turned back around.

"Work? I see." Pave did not see. "The chisel is for chiseling the fabric?" She asked confusedly.

"What Mos say?" Dante asked, the look on her face perfectly showing her puzzling.

Tayten grabbed the hoop with her beak and threw it to the air, bouncing the colorful plastic on the hard orange tip, like a seal with a ball.

"You didn't see." Mya said, giggling. She pulled out a crimson red crystal, having a rough, jagged form, fitting in the palm of her hand as she showed it to Pave. Even though it wasn't as strong as the aura coming out of Mya's pack, it still had a faint pink-redish glow of it's own. "The chisel is for chiseling this."

Mos repeated his sentence. "Dante..." He said slowly. "Iri...Vidi...Stulta?" He looked at her expectantly, a smile on his face.

"Oh." Pave nodded. "Chiseling the stone. I see." Pave still didn't see.

Both the ToR and the Griff were confused, not having heard a single word like that in their life. "Uh, kid, translation to english please?" Tayten squawked, sweatdropping as she pointed it out.

Mya rolled her eyes. Not many people were crystalsmiths (heck, she was the only one she knew...), so she should have known this would come up... "This isn't just a stone. It's a crystal. A magical one, hence the glow. They're used in a lot of stuff, like enchanted jewelry, weaponry, whatever thing you can crest a crystal on. This one I'm doing, for example, is going to a bracelet for a wizard, so I'm shaping it like a rune. Not done though..." she tried explainning, lying the piece on the cloth.

Mos too was confused. "Ing...lish?" He didn't know how to speak proper English. Only Esperanto. "Mi povi ne paroli English." He admitted. He shrugged and smiled nervously.

Pave nodded, her mouth open. "I had no idea. Wow." She stared at the little crystal. "That's amazing!" She commented.

"Not that much, really..." Mya mumbled, blushing. She never thought it was such a big deal, so she was truly being modest. The confusion not too far from them both caught her attention though, noticing the communication troubles. "Mmmh... I might have the remedy for that..." she muttered, once again looking for something on her bag. "I never finished this one 'cause the customer lost his head and didn't come back to discuss what he wanted me to make of it, and it's been seating untouched for ages on my shop. Sooo..." She took out another crystal, pure yellow glows escaping her fingers for a few seconds, almost blinding. "Sorry for that, was in the dark for too long." Setting her things asside, Mya went to hand it to Mos, taking his little hand and putting the crystal inside. "Hold it next to you. You'll understand what others say, and others will understand what you say. It has more uses, but this is the only one triggered right now. You'll know them when you're older!" she explained, winking to him before returning to her seat, watching their reactions.

Dante wasn't all that curious about what it was that her mom had given Mos. Instead, she wanted to know if it really worked or not. She had never seen magic work in flesh before, so it was a new thing begging to be discovered...

Tayten, on the other hand, was pretty confident it would work. She had known Mya for the enough time to know she was rarely mistaken about this sort of stuff, so this would come really in handy. "Wow! Didn't there was something like that..." she cooed in amazement.

Mos looked down at the yellow crystal in his hand. He squeezed it tight and smiled. "Thank you!" He giggled. His mind stopped for a second and rewound. He repeated his sentence. "Thank...you..." What? He had said 'Danki vi', but it hadn't come out that way. He contemplated this strange occurence. "I wish I wish I was a fish." He said. English! His mind worked furiously. "Mi voli mi voli mi estas a fixso." "I wish I wish I was a fish." He looked again at the little crystal. "Yay!" He pronounced.

Pave looked down at Mos. "But..." Mos couldn't speak yet, except for in Esperanto. "Mos! Mya..." She looked at Mya. "How? What did--?" She settled for a look of stupified curiosity.

"The guy was a scholar, a dragonologist. Studied dragons, you see. He wanted it to understand their language and have some light at the same time due to their caves. From what I gathered he got a little too close to one... Anyway, it's mind enhancing magic, nothing harmful to him, so you can be relieved." Mya was remembering the gruesome details with a wicked inner smile. The guy had been so cocky and petty he had just deserved the spook from that dragon. Heh, never touched a single book of magic again... "I can make something for it to hold on if you want too Pave! Getting rusty with metal work. No pun intended..." she added, realizing the uglyness of the phrase's ending. Quite the multifunctional smith...

"See? English!" Dante pointed out, victorious. Wow, that thing rocked! Now, they could understand each other, so it'd be real easy for them to play. "What say before?" she asked again, her winglets flapping in her excitement.

"Oh, yeah, that'd be awesome." Pave nodded. She knew Mos would lose his head if it wasn't attached to his shoulders. "Mos would lose his head if it wasn't attached to his shoulders," Pave laughed.

Mos thought back to what he had said before. Oh yes, Dante was going to see clowns. "Therefore go see silly?" Wait, that didn't sound right. He set the crystal down and started again. "Dante," he picked the crystal up again. "Go see sillies?"

((X3 Dante means "therefore" in Esperanto. XD))
