About Me

Since none of ya'll know me I guess I should do some of this now.

If ya'll're gonna call me anything, call me Keys. I spend most of my time doing the usual stuff: reading, writing (duh), doodling, doing homework, or playing video games. Before you ask, I do not play Nintendo games, I am a strict FF and KH addict, plus I do not own any Nintendo systems... but my amazing PS3 gives me happiness anyway! biggrin I love fantasy and that is also what I write mainly, although every now and again a good mystery or historical fiction book will catch my eye. I am always on the look out for good new reads and am open to suggestions always xD I am an addict for random interesting facts, and obsessive about quotes. I can't write humor very well, and can butcher a joke very badly. When I have my moments of comic genius, they are few and far between and I usually have to be told they exist. I hate writer's block, but sadly am often afflicted with it. So, whenever I have it, I write fanfiction to whatever book or TV show that happens to have my current imaginative attention. But I never post it on any site, and its typically handwritten and only my close IRL friends see it. My fanfiction tends to make more fun of the actual book/show and it is amusing to see how many loopholes I can exploit in a fantasy fanfiction (my Eragon fanfics do this quite often). Also, people who know me well realize that I cannot spell very well. Just a random thing.

My Current Projects

SoReNa the first in a series I hope to publish one day and one that I have been working on for the better part of three years. Word Count: 30,646. Page Count: 57. Draft number: 8.

untitled a concept I've been toying with... might go somewhere one day.

I write fanfiction when I have writers block, but never publish do anything with it. Few people ever see them. They're just to tide me over till the real insperation hits. Then I roll!

And that's pretty much everything... I hope... oh well

Welcome, welcome, welcome! =D

I sympathise with your inability to write comedy. I have exactly the same problem. I'm hoping that a month of writing nothing BUT comedy in November might help me learn a few tricks to make my writing more funny. :]

Nice to have you in the guild.

so, draft 8... I have completely shreded the first chapter. Highlights: discovered a cool new cultural twist. WHOOT. Lowlight: I can't believe some of the stuff I've written before! I sound so stupid!

Hee! I love the quote in your sig ^^. Also, welcome!

Comedy is the hardest thing to write. Trying to keep the laughs going... it's one of those things you really have to focus on.

I suggest, and this sounds cruel and nonproductive, NOT GOING NEAR any funny media. Your brain will make more jokes that way. And they'll be less cliche.

Thanks, I like the quote too.

I'll take the bit about comedy into concideration... I haven't really tried to do comedy before anyway.

Okay, so editing is terribly long. I have two friends stuff to go through, my own edits to put it (before P a r a d i s e kills me for putting it off) and regular old english class nonsense. English... it takes away time from the good stuff. It's so... hard to be creative with in the bounds of... five pages max!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its terrible.

Back when I was in highschool, I'd write outside of the proscribed page limits and harldy got knocked down for it. Maybe things have changed, or maybe my teachers figured that my meandering opuses had to be worth and E for Effort and just scrawled As on them...

I haven't been docked before... but still I get made merciless fun of and then... I get the words "good concept, but use better word choice" when it is really well written and been edited down to ten from oh... somewhere over thirty pages already.

YOU'VE MADE S LOT OF PROGRESS AND THAT IS AWESOME ^^.

Keep it up! I believe in you!

thanks, Savin. I do try... but I am no fan of my English teacher... not a fan of fantasy... I think you could call her an anti-fantasy fan... sports only for her. Worse, she never marks up my papers so I can't improve... fortunately, I will never turn in any of my 'good' 'short' stories. Short equals about ten to twelve pages.

Hmm. You know what? Many people who dislike fantasy are actually failed fantasists biggrin .
