Odin was taking a little break from setting up his new shop. The Dark Side had been all well and good, but it was time for him to move on and make a name for himself. He'd already gotten a couple of employees lined up, and they were the ones he'd told to "take five". They'd been arranging the furniture behind the soaped-up windows of the shop for nearly 6 hours now, and it was time to take a breather. He leaned against the brick front of his shop, smoking a cigarette, the hand-painted banner that billowed near his head announcing that "Valhalla Tattoos" was "Opening Soon!" and that you should "make an appointment today!".

Charlie was out that day, wandering about with his nephew. Bailey was currently at what would be considered the 'child' stage, but with the mind of an adult, Dartsmoore considered it perfectly reasonable to let him wander about and find sources for his own amusement and education. His uncle agreed with this sentiment and usually let the boy go off on his own, but that day he'd tagged along just for some temporary company.
So it was that the red boy and his pompadoured uncle were walking through the streets of the city together. As they walked, it was the boy who noticed the place first. Being interested in reading mythology from all over the world - particularly as his brother was a god - Bailey thought a place named Valhalla Tattoos was fricken sweet to see.
"Hey, Uncle Charlie, weren't you thinking of getting more ink?" he asked, pointing to the banner as they walked, causing the shorter man to pause.
"I was, actually."
"How about you go check out the art there? I was going to go and see if any of my friends were in town anyway. Bye Uncle Cee!" the boy called hastily and was already walking off in another direction. It wasn't that he minded Charlie's company but he really didn't want to have a "chaperon" when he went to see his friends. It might give the impression that he wasn't out a-wandering on his own when he really was. Anyway, Charlie needed something to do.
So, the silver haired man, decked in his sleeveless crimson top and tight black jeans did as he'd been advised. He approached the tattoo shop and as he did, spotted the quite interesting looking man in front of the place.

Odin's hearing was...quite good. He listened to the little conversation without butting in at all, but couldn't help but grin when the guy finally came up. Charlie, right? Yeah, must be.
"Hey," he said, standing and offering a hand for the man to shake, "The name's Odin. I couldn't help but overhear. You lookin' ta look around?"

"Charlemagne." he responded with a nod, accepting the proffered hand, "And I was planning on looking about, yeah."
Why was it that he kept meeting gargantuan guys in this dimension? He vaguely wondered if that was the reason there'd been such a shortage in his homeworld - they were all here! Not that he was complaining - taller guys were hot, but still!

"Nice t'meet ya," Odin smiled, "You kin come on it, but I warn you, we're not totally set up." He held the soaped-up door open and the little collection of bells jingled. The place was made up like a ship. Well, sort of. The walls were painted as if they were on a boat in some rough Norse sea, and the floor was dark wood. A couple pf pieces of canvas (the left of which reached the ceiling) with a swinging wooden door separated the waiting room with its comfy couch and many sheets of Flash. The front desk was to the left. Behind the sheets (a sail, it could be assumed) were a piercing room, a bathroom, a bigger room with 2 desk setups (for the tattoo artists), and a back office.

Charlie nodded and entered the building. The style was definitely not what he was used to, but he couldn't help but admire the design. It went with the theme and that was what counted. The last place he'd been to was Ixxie's and she hadn't been able to give her shop any sort of theme at the time, but she'd have appreciated Valhalla if she'd ever seen it.
"Good look." the man commented, hands in his pockets as he walked through and tried to get a better feel for his surroundings.

"Thanks," Odin said, smiling proudly, "It's all hand-painted. Extra points if you can find the serpent." Yeah, like it wasn't staring Charlie in the face right then.
"D'you have any ink already?" he asked, just trying to start up conversation. The guy definitely looked the type to have tattoos and, hey, his little nephew had mentioned it.

"There." the pomped man said, pointing towards the one tattooing chair. It had seemed the most logical place to look for such a thing, in his mind and he seemed to be right.
"Yeah, one on my back, a few on my legs, and one on my wrist." he answered, glancing about some more.
As he was looking, he took a large, detailed piece on Odin's arm. He'd figured the man would have tattoos, owning this shop and all, but he hadn't expected something like that. Isabella had had a thing for extremely detailed and fancy pieces and she'd transferred that love for that sort of art to Charlie. Now he was quite positive he would have to start asking about this artist.
"I like your arm piece there." the man said, indicating the large tattoo upon Odin's left arm that he'd been admiring.

As of the moment, it was one of only two pieces Odin had. It hadn't been long since they'd figured out how to make ink stand out on skin as dark as his.
"Thanks," Odin said, smiling. He looked down at his tattoo, flexing and making the girl move. "Do you like Mucha?"

"I'm not quite from around here so I can't say so as of yet. Haven't heard the name before. Though, if this is an example, I just might." he commented, amused by the movement in the piece. "I've yet to get quite acquainted with the art of this world."

Odin nodded.
"Actually, this guy was Czechoslovakian, back when Czechoslovakia still existed. He's amazing. You should check him out. Crazy detail in everything he does, and lots of beautiful women."

"What's Czechoslovakia?" Charlie asked, eyebrow raising and face becoming slightly incredulous. "When I say I'm not from this world, I do mean I'm not from this planet or dimension. I know only so much about it."

Odin seemed entirely un-phased by hearing that Charlie was from another dimension. He really wasn't from around here either.
"It's a country in Eastern Europe that's since split up and become Slovakia and The Czech Republic." A little shrugged followed.
"So. You thinkin' about gettin' inked here?"

"Possibly. I was going to get my arms done before Ixxie closed up shop but haven't considered it since. I don't even know what I'd want."
