I don't know if a lot of people on Gaia would know who Jimmie Rodgers is, but back in the day when my mom was into rock and roll, he was a pretty big deal. He's like a traditional pop/rock & roll singer from the 60s or something. Anyway, wikipedia link on the bottom if youre interested.
So, my mom collects records. You know, those big black CD looking things? lol, and She has a few Jimmie Rodgers lps that she likes to play all the time, on her record player. So, she's online and she comes across videos of Jimmie Rodgers Jr.s videos of his father performing, so my mom messages him, seeing if she could possibly send his dad a record in the mail with a self addressed envelope and get it autographed, so that's what she did.
Apperently the envelope and record got separated in the mail, and Jimmie Rodgers recieved the record, but not the return envelope. She Jimmie Rodgers, my mom's idol, looks her up, because he knew she was in Alaska, and he finds our home phone number and calls us to get the address! MY mother got to talk to her idol on the telephone and hear his voice, actually talking specifically to her!
How jazzed would you be if you were a phone call away from your musical idol or insppiration? That would be crazy!
