the colors aren't completely right on that chart...if you put the chart into paint and paste your egg next to it, it doesn't really match up. if you look hard enough, the chart's white background really isn't white at all.

It still gets the idea across. Even with a strictly accurate image of each egg, it's still hard to tell because the difference is subtle. It's only easy if they're side by side and different backgrounds make the eggs look a little different too. (Darker backgrounds make the eggs look lighter than they are, for instance.)

so either way alternate's are darker in shade than regulars? i did not know that.

This helps me with the backgrounds. YMMV depending on your gama/color settings, I have mine set pretty high.
