Lord Adel's Masquerade Ball


Will become availiable when the war at the city gates has wrapped up.

The War is over and peace returns. After a few days, you receive this letter in a wax-stampted envelope. Opening it, you find that you are invited to a grand masquerade ball that takes place that evening.....

Congratulations! For your heoric efforts you have been invited to a celebratory party at Lord Adel's castle.
By the end of the event all characters will automatically pass their level 1 training and move to the next level in ability!
(this in turn will allow you to explore more of Emania and even beyond)



Events of the Evening
Quote:

1 ~ Welcome Ceremony
Lord Adel will give a quick speech, and honour those who have fought and died. Afterwards, the guests can warm up and mingle before dinner.

2~ Banquet
The Guests sit down to a grand feast provided by Lord Adel's excellent cooks. A small band of musicians will play in the background for the guest's entertainment.

3~ Presentation Ceremony
Here, each character is automatically upgraded to the next level. Special mentions will be given to exceptional contributions, and the upraded weapons and magic spells will be handed out.

4~ The Masquerade Dance
The fun truly begins. The guests can all celebrate with some dancing and socialising. Snacks and drinks will be circulated and jesters and acrobats will preform throughout. If the guests wish, they can withdraw to the library, where the epic poem Beowulf will be recited and performed. Alternatively, the guests can go outside to watch a formal Joust competition.

Warriors

~Get [+6] stats - +3 in hp (health/endurance) and the other 3 to spend in strength, defence, evasion or accuracy
~Updated sword /(other melee weapon) that can deal more damage
~+1 damage to attack score dice roll in melee combat (where you attack
*Cutting Edge - a skill that raises chance of hitting and raises chance of increased damage. Costs 20 Mp and lasts 3 turns
- roll a 10-sided dice each turn: if you get a 1 or 2, you are gaurenteed an attack bonus. If level 2- damage = 1hp extra, if lv 3 damage = 2hp, lv4=5hp etc etc (regardless of sheild class of monster)
*Flat Edge - increases chance of dodging . Costs 10 Mp and lasts 3 turns. roll a 10 sided dice each turn. if 1 or 2, you can dodge the attack

Description: A trusted weapon of teh dwarves, expertly crafted and famed for it's accuracy.

Double Handed Broadsword

Weapon: Double Handed Broadsword (lv2)
Type: Melee
Description: A weighty blade forged form the strongest steel, requring much skill and pysical strength
Dice to be rolled: x2 yellow + x1 red
Other: Only Able to be weilded by WARRIORS or CLERICS

Spear of the Hunter
Level: 2
Weapon: Double Handed Broadsword
Type: Melee
Description: A light and useful spear that had a hard and strong tip.
Dice to be rolled: x2 yellow + x1 red
Other: Only Able to be weilded by WARRIORS or CLERICS









Clerics
~Gain +5 stats (you rank upto a new level) - limited to magic, accuracy, health/endurance, magical power and magical defense
~Gain 6 magic points to use for spells
~Be able to heal players [see the spell]
~Be able to ressurect players to +2 hp [ no spell needed]
~Be able to use basic magic (what the mother superior teaches you)
*Magic Draw ability - draw energy form nature to boost magic gauge. Use once per game, and steals 1hp to do this. boosts magic gauge by 4 magic points (lv2). - lv3 and upwards(-2hp, +6 mp)
*Turn undead ability - if monster is calssed as 'undead', roll star dice. If star, monster misses next go. Unlimited use

Type: Offensive (& poss helaing)
Description: This summons a bolt of electricity from nature to harm the evil. If the subject is not a 'bad guy' (ie if it's mistaken identity etc), attack is halved. If subject is undead, attac bonus of +1.
Dice to be rolled: x2 yellow + x1 orange. Roll star dice. if Star, you ro a player is helaed by 1 hp.

~ ability to disable traps. each time 3 traps are sucessfully disabled = +2 hp recovered

* poison darts Ability-- (only able to use twice before discarding) - weapon ignores armor class and takes 1hp per go until cure or death.
*Rush ability -- roll star dice. If star, player appears as if form nowhere and rushes opponent, thus stunning them. opponent misses next go. Max use of 3 times per fight.

Drow Lash of Torment
Level: 2 - availiable for upgrade
Weapon: Lash Of Torment
Type: melee (limited long range also)
Description: This whip is embedded with cruel spikes of iron and glass, effectively making it a whip-dagger. Dravel recovered this weapon from a trader who dealt in the underground. This weapon is famous because of the Drow's use of it as teh preferred method of dealing with Moonmaw slaves.
Dice to be rolled: x2 yellow+ x1 red
Other: This weapon is expertly designed to cut through Moonmaw Defenses. IF FIGHTING A MOONMAW, IGNORES SHIELDING


Paralysing Shortbow of the Ancients (lv2 version)

Weapon: Shortbow of the Ancients
Type: long range
Description: made of the oldest yew in the ancient elven forest
Dice to be rolled: x2 yellow+ x1 red
--> roll STAR dice. if star, monster paralysed and misses next turn

Flash Pellets (lv 2 version)
Level: Level 2
Weapon: [long range weapon] ‘flash pellets’
Type: Long Range
Description: These long range throwing pellets create a small explosion.
Dice to be rolled: roll x2 yellow, x1 red + The STAR dice
Other: If you get a star [even number], the monster temporarily blinded and misses its next turn.








Madges

~Get +6 stats limited to magical attack, magical defense and accuracy
~Gain 6 magic points to use for spells
~Be able to use magic spells
~Be able to use limited healing magic
~Shielding increases +1, BUT when magic points are below 3, the shielding weakens
*Sleep ability - roll star dice. if star the monster falls alseep (thus misses turns) until it rolls a star. (it'll roll each turn it has)
*Poison ability - Roll star dice. if star the poison is effective. it has the potential to last for 6 turns maximum. Monster rolls dice: if star. If star the monster breaks out of poison. If not star, the monster recieves 1hp damage, regardless of shielding.
Madge gains their choice of ONE of this type of spell below (eg madge chooses the fire variation), and his/her own staff to help cast them.

Type: Long Range
Description: bolts that continue to cause pain when they hit their target

Having dressed to your best, you find yourself at Lord Adel’s castle that evening. There are torches lit outside that flicker in the gradually dying light and people dressed in bright colours and masks filter inside in chattering groups. As you enter you see that the great hall is richly hung with tapestries and adorned with lights. It is surrounded by opened up rooms that hold more people -one appears to be a banquet hall and the others are various libraries or living areas.
The atmosphere is charged with people bustling and talking excitedly between one another. Some are heroes, some recently recovered from wounds, others are normal townsfolk. Dressed more modestly are the monks and nuns.
As you explore further, you can see Lord Adel himself, The Sherriff and who must be Lord Adel’s two daughters chatting by the fireplace and watching the crowd. In the corner, there is a harp player playing music to keep the atmosphere.......

Felix entered the hall feeling trhoughly foolish. It had been a good few days since the battle, and he felt totally helathy, but he also felt competely out of place here. He wans't used to being so close to such luxury. He'd been kindly given some nice clothes on loan form the Mother Superior and was dressed in a simple white and gold-trim outfit. He'd entertaine dhsimelf by roughly sculpting a ca-mask for the masquerade, and the roughly painted thing was hung jautily around his head and tied to various hair-spikes. As ever he carrie dhis bostaff on hsi back - ever sicne Solaris got it away form him he had grown even more attache dot the thing.

he looked about for his friends and hung nervously around the walls.

Craban headed through the courtyard that surrounded the castle. The air was crisp and mild and promised an ivigorating night. He hoped that Sangre woudl apprciate it if he came ~ he had promised that the drow would enjoy it since it was at nightime. watingf ro Sangre, he hung around the courtyard and udne rone of the spluttering torches, dressed in the best clothes he still had left over from the underdark and with a quirky dmeon mask he had seen for sale at the marketplace. Sangre needed a lift, and he hoped he'd be abel to get it. he was also intrigued as to what aron might look like - he wondered if the guy coudl even do formal since he was so childish.
he found hismlef smiling. The guy was certainly cute.
he shook hsimelf and folded his arms.

"Hey." Craban said, smiling. It had felt like an age since he'd seen his training partner - the whole business wth olathssin had left him drained. Now it was a pleasure to see him aagain, especially in this bustling atmosphere.
"hm? Nothing. I'm just wiating to see if Sangre will turn up. It's not exactly his thing." he smirked and waved a hand vaugely at the crowd. "Too many humans."

Craban raised a white eyeborw and his smirk widened.
"You're going to steal off some highbrow types who are letting us in this thing for free? Classy."
He then winked and pated Renten mockingly-condescendingly on the head. His mood was getting better and better as the crowd increased the the music coud be heard form inside.
"And of course i know your a human, pumpkin. you're ugly, but you're not that ugly."

Sorry if it's a bit long 3nodding ]

Vence casually stolled past the gates that lead to the sheriffs office, and more importantly, the castle of Lord Adel. His destination was there. Taking a few seconds to examine the lavishly decorated exterior, he wondered what the inside looked like. It was obvious a good time was to be expected. Music could be heard from inside. Taking a deep breath he resumed to walk forwards.

It had been a few days only sinse the incident of Solaris and his attack on the Ash Coast town, and while there were more gaurds hanging around of late, there was also less tension. The people were confident that another attack was not likely.

Vence nodded to one of the gaurds as he walked up the steps, and met no resistance strolling through the door. He was one of the honored guests, after all; he and all the rest who killed Solaris. It was free, but the rest wouldn't get in so easily. They needed identification of some sort. But he, Felix, Armli, Renten, and a few others needed nothing to get in.

As suspected, the inside was even more finely decorated then outside. Moving out of the way of people, he examined the room, and the large hallway visible on one side of the room. He quickly pointed out all the important people; the sheriff, Lord Adel himself, and his two daughters. He noticed out of the corner of his eye Renten walking past people, a slightly Sneaky air about him. Vence smiled, and hid his money pouch away. Renten would not be stealing from him tonight.

Venec spotted Felix amongst the people, and quickly excused himself over and over as he walked up to him, a smile finally appearing on his face.

"You know, it's rather surprising I didn't see you first, Felix," Vence said, joking. "You look good. Maybe one of Lord Adel's daughters will take a liking to you." He pointed over to the two daughters, who happened to be busy chatting with each other.

"I did, and I have sources that'd agree." Craban said sticking outa tongue. He hung around the doorway a little before following Renten inside. Sangre would find him easily, even in a masquerade ball and a few minutes wouldn't hurt.
