Surprisingly, it's a rather good feature.
I hate the Clam, but the rewards which it gives are great - The Leviathan's Grace items are fantastic.
The stupid clam has gave me 'Lidless demon helm' twice though. I'd threaten it if I could.

My fish keep on disappearing though D: That's cuz they die. Check the 'special' section of your inventory to see the drops. You can sell some for a lot of gold, others give you more gold for opening them than selling them.

Oh yes, I do like it but I'm not having much luck with the rewards. Seems no matter how much I feed my fish, no matter how many fish I buy and no matter how many decorations I put in my tank.....I'm not getting rewards. I have received one so far and my tank is blood full.
