I'm bad and scarf down my food like there's no tomorrow. I also normally always eat in front of the TV (how classy) or the computer (how geeky). I'm lucky that I don't have to prepare most of my meals - my loving boyfriend does it for me - but when I'm off by myself, it's real simple. Like pasta sauce and pasta simple.
So, does anyone hear actually enjoy their food? Do you eat at a table, outside? Do you enjoy all aspects of your meal from preparing to eating? Do you actually chew or pull a pirhan and wolf it down? biggrin

My family always ate really fast too and I do, but my fiancee eats LIKE A SNAIL. So i try to eat slower so im not done 20 minutes before him.
I prepare my meals and his meals, and my family has always ate meals at the table. But when its nice we have a screened in front porch, and open air back deck - both have small wooden tables and chairs :]
SOMETIMES if im alone, i eat at my computer desk, teeeheehee ninja

I wish we could eat at the table like normal people. In our current house the kitchen, living room and kitchen are completely open (it's a big box) so there's no division between the rooms. So, even if I do eat at the table, the TV is right there. It's hard not to watch some drain braining show. How I envy your enclosed porch. I got in the habit of grazing throughout the day years ago, and it's a hard habit to break. I love to cook, and cooking for a huge crowd is really fun for me. That's about the only time I actually sit down and eat, and I know I'm drawn by the company and conversation and silliness.
I did sit down to eat when all the kids were small----at about 10 p.m., really bad habit, but if I couldn't eat in peace, I just didn't want to eat. One of my sisters thought that I was anorexic until she visited for a day or two. Five little kids, from one to five years old, will really keep you hopping!

I tend to graze. I don't shovel my food down or anything, but If i wasn't conscious of my eating (and let's face it some days I'm not) I can pretty much eat steadily all day long.
I'm also prone to some late night binge eating. -shakes a fist- I've yet to figure out how to manage this.
I rarely eat at the table, usually it's in a chair somewhere in the living room.

I would love to graze. I have this thing were my tummy doesn't talk to my brain properly so I don't feel hungry during the day. So, I normally just eat breakfast and dinner. So, by the time dinner comes around, I'm starving and wolf down my food. I'm terrible. sweatdrop

I eat fast but I eat stratigically... >_< I always eat foods in a specific order. Preparring certain foods can be fun...especially soups. Sometimes we eat at the table and other times we watch the news and eat.

Sometimes we eat at the table and other times we watch the news and eat. When you said you eat foods in specific order, my brother does that too. Also, when we make his plates and serve dinner it has to be spaced apart so the food doesn't touch. My brother is 26 years old =|

In my house, it's every woman for herself, because we all have differing schedules. Yes, I eat at the TV, and the computer too. I can't stand to sit there staring at the walls of the dining room while I eat. I go mad with boredom. I have to eat while doing other stuff. Whether I eat fast or slow depends on whether I have to go somewhere directly after eating. I usually wolf down my breakfast and lunch (if I have any), then have time to savor dinner when the day's done. Hence dinner is usually my favorite meal.

I enjoy cooking once I get down to it, but I'll often be lazy and just do something simple. I love food, and while I don't eat really slowly I certainly take the time to enjoy it. I'm another one of those people who will often eat things in a specific order. xd Our dining table doesn't have any chairs yet, so currently I eat most of my meals in front of the computer, sadly. If my Mama is home for a meal other then dinner I'll eat outside with her, but I don't eat dinner outside because that's when Mama's boyfriend cooks meat-things on his grill.

I eat at my computer or in front of the TV as well. My dining room table is covered with school stuff. I used to not know that I ate slow. About two months ago, my family visited me and we went to eat at a restaurant. While they were finished and I was not even half way done, they commented on how slow I ate, but said it was good because I was giving my body time to digest well. I can eat really fast when I am very hungry, but I always get sad because then the food is all gone and I still feel ravenous. xd

I've been eating a lot slower too and taking time to chew my food. I found out that your intestines aren't open tubes that get food stuffed down them, but really intricate. It's amazing. With that information, I make sure I chew a lot more so that my body doesn't have to take up the extra energy to break it down.
I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only computer eater-infronter. 3nodding

sweatdrop I've been so annoyed with myself because I forget to enjoy my food. For years I never really tasted anything; all I ate was fast food, grilled cheese, and ramen noodles and I couldn't enjoy that even if I ate slowly, so I got in the habit of scarfing things down. My family has never eaten at the table; it's always too full with things, so we eat in front of the TV (if we actually eat together). Since I started cooking I've made a habit of eating in my room on my bed though, and taking time to slow down and enjoy food. I only get to do that once a day though because I'm always rushed in the morning and we're only allotted 25 minutes for lunch.
