A lot of people said this movie was stupid...or similarly negative comments.
Don't listen to them. If you've ever watched a Coen brothers movie, you know they kinda cover odd topics, and don't really seem to have a point to the plot. If you can get past that you'll see that this is a very funny movie. A little dark, but very funny.
The way I look at Coen brothers movies is as follows:
Normally when you see a movie it excites your imagination. It makes you want to go out and be a superhero, or become an assassin or something like that. Coen brothers movies, on the other hand, bring you back down to earth. They are always a little dark in that good things don't always happen to good people. Bad things happen for no reason really at all. And there are rarely people that are completely good people. It's a little depressing the way their movies can kill your imagination like that, but at the same time they really get a point across about the reality of our world.
