Soleil was out wandering around enjoying the sunshine. She was in a great mood since the sun was out and she hasn't seen her twin for awhile. She took in a deep breath of the fresh air and exhaled happily. "What a wonderful day." She said to herself. She slowly made her way to her favorite spot in the forest, a small clearing with a few wild flowers.
Once she reached the clearing she laid down and began rolling in the grass. She rolled onto her back and swished her tail as she gazed at the sky.

"Hmph.. wonderful daaaay.." Mocked Lanette, imitating her sister's voice. She watched from the shadows of the surrounding tree's. Today was a horrid time for her. The day was to bright and tonight was a new moon, casting a shadow on her beloved night. She only found comfort in the stars. She should be sleeping, she knew that but even in her den under ground, the sun blazed through and irritated her. Giving up, she decided to stick to the shadows and woop-de-doo, she runs into Soleil. Wonderful. Yeah. Right.

Soleil's ears twitched at the sound of another's voice. And not just anyone's... her twin's voice. "Well there goes my nice day." She grumbled rolling over to her stomach, "What brings you out on this nice sunny day my sister?" She looked around until she caught a glimpse of her sister's coat. "I thought you prefer to come out at night." Her tail swished around in the grass, the only sign that Soleil was agitated.

Lanette stepped forward, squinting her eyes as the the sun burned onto her pupils. "I do prefer my beautiful night.." She admitted, politely, prancing more into the dancing violet rays towards her sister. She sat down a few feet from Soleil, her beautiful blue coat looked purple in the light, and her silver looked white. "This seems to be your heaven dear sister." She spoke matter-of-factly, smirking.

Soleil shook her head unable to see how night time could be beautiful. "I have noticed that." She said nodding, "This is my heaven. But only when the sun is shining like today." She looked up and stared at her sister's coat. "I love how the sun makes you look purple." She said chuckling.

Lanette smirked. "At night, yours looks green." She giggled at the thought of her sister head to toe in a moss looking coat. "Quite a hilarious I do think." She chuckled a little more loudly, her head leaning backward along her neck as the breeze sent ripples, like water, through the flowers and coats.

Soleil glared and blushed at what her twin said. "I-it does not!" She stammered looking away. She hated how night changed her beautiful coat into another color..... and an ugly one at that. She sighed sadly before looking back at her sister. Her fur ruffled from the breeze and she shook herself to set the fur right. "So you never did answer me. Why are you here?"

Lanette raised half if lip in disgust as she worded her sentence. "I was.. out for a walk because I couldn't sleep. Its been ages sense I was out and about while it was daylight. In fact, the last time was when you and I were pups and mom made me go for a hunt." She glowered at the child hood memory. Ugh.

Soleil watched her twin intrigued. "Ah yes that hunt. I remember it so well. Didn't you end up spooking all of the deer and ended up with a rabbit?" She said grinning before sighing, "Although I remember a time when dad sent me out at night to hunt and I ended up chasing after deer until dawn. Never did get one so I caught a couple of rabbits instead." She frowned as she remembered the scolding she received from both of their parents for that one.

"Hmph. I couldn't help it if my blue coat contrasted with the yellow dried grass." Lanette pursed her lips in defense. "Besides, I'm sticking to fish now.. much my cleaner, taste better, and it doesn't matter what hour you fish." She grinned wide, happily, triumphantly. Lanette thought about the night Soleil was talking about. That night Lanette was very sick and couldn't go with father so Soleil went. Soleil was enraged beyond belief at Lanette for making her go with father then getting a scolding after wards. She wasn't sure yet if Soleil forgave her or not. Oh well. There was plenty Lanette hasn't forgave Soleil for.

Soleil stared at Lanette bored. "Right. Fish is only so good for you. You need other meat." She said with a shake of her head, "Besides who cares if it's cleaner. You'll never get a pack or a male if you can't hunt." She frowned and glared at her twin's grin. She was probably remembering that night and how she got out of hunting. Their parents went too easy on Lanette and now look at her! She wasn't even hunting properly! "At least I've made it a habit to keep trying to hunt and improve. I've gotten better since I keep at it."

Lanette's grin faded quickly. "I can hunt just fine sister." A low growl start bubbling from her chest she Lanette grasped it and shoved it away. "Ahem.. Anyhow, I hunt rabbit's once in a while and deer on occasion. I only kill for food, not for fun or practice.." Lanette smiled, showing over her elegant figure. Lanette was mainly muscle with little fat. That had its up and downs. It sucked during winter but she survived just fine with a thick husky coat and shelter.

Soleil rolled her eyes. "Who said I hunt for fun or practice? I hunt for food but I make sure that my hunts count. I make sure to always hunt something different and to try different techniques." She said scoffing, "You know you look a little scrawny sister." She stood and stretched showing off her figure. She was well muscled and had a decent amount of fat for when winter came. However she wasn't to be considered to be a big or petite wolf; she was right in between.

"Scrawny does well when racing threw tree's sister.. easier to avoid and swerve." She smirked, but that only counted for night. You didn't really need to maneuver through tree's in daylight. It was pretty easy to see a brown trunk with sun beams filtering up through the green canopy. Sitting back down on her haunches, Lanette stared over into the tree line. It seemed nice and shady, out of the damn heat and brightness.

Soleil shook her head. "Whatever." She said. She sat down and watched her sister look at the trees. "Go sit in the shade of the trees if the sun is bothering you that much." She said sighing, "It wouldn't do if you got sick from the sun and heat." She looked up at the sky with her eyes closed and a smile on. She loved the sun's rays of heat beating on her.
