Go to this website

They're basically like us, with a different background and, well, they've gone productive. These people are amazing and worth supporting. They want the same goal, the send the same message. Plus, the red head isn't too hard on the eyes. ^_^

Here's a message from them:
Quote:
To Write Love on Her Arms is a work in progress. This began with one broken girl, one painful night; addiction, depression, cutting. This is a glimpse at the five days that followed, a decision to love and to begin telling her true story. To Write Love on Her Arms is becoming something bigger, something hopeful. It's the realization of what life can be when we commit to meeting a need. A friend of mine told me there's no such thing as suicide prevention. This is an attempt to prove him wrong, to say that love can change a life. We can hold back the darkness. Rescue is possible. More soon to come. Join us as we continue to write this story, and as we begin to offer hope to the many hopeless who walk these dark roads. A Jimmy Eat World lyric has been stuck in my head today, "Believe your voice can mean something."

I ******** hate myspace; the profile pages are always so over-loaded with images and videos that it brings my browser and the rest of my computer to a standstill. Piss-poor moronic web design at it's very finest.

I've never been much of a supporter of TWLOHA. One week out of the year is not going to make up for the other 358 days where no one gives a ********. It seems to grab the attention of those who are either not addicted/SIing/depressed, those that are already involved in helping their friends, or those that are trying to be trendy. As in, they're preaching to the choir. The people that are ignorant and have such a stigma against mental health issues are not going to change their minds because of a stupid slogan and some concerts.

Plus, rather than donating money soley to objective, non-discriminatory organizations, they give a huge chunk of the money to an Evangelical Christian group that won't even hire non-Christians. They want to convert people.

Anyway, whatever. If it helps people, that's good. The whole thing makes me gag, though.
