Hurr. Are we going to attempt to start recruiting? Or are we going to wait for people to come to us? If we're gunna recruit, are we waiting for anything in particular, or can we go ahead and start? O_o

I think its a go on the recruiting...
I suggest we make a page in the forums too... Maybe the captains are hanging out in the RG forum since the other CG is locked... sweatdrop
Plus, most of the glitches seem to be fixxed... biggrin

Not all of them, the numbers are now inflated, some people are mentioned three times on guild member sheets.
Also I should stay on topic, a lot of people may just show up like me.
And some one I know already joined.

At my friends guild, Taline Manor Vampire Coven, page six is exactly the same as page seven.

Since this is a Captain guild I would just go around and invite the Captain's of guilds.
Doesn't that make sense?
Just go to the guild registry.

I believe recruitment needs to happen now if this is ever to become a valuable/active/living resource.
I strongly support active recruiting, I often recruit 50-100 people to my guild in any given week, sometimes more than that in a single day.
If we're going to let the other 'Captain's Guilds' out rank us in membership and activity, well we might as well quit now. Because once, to my experience, a guild starts to get momentum (such as having/gaining lots of members quickly) it's hard to catch up if your the runner up and than your always Second Choice. People see Members number's and think 'that's the better Guild'. While this isn't always true as we all know, it's just how it works.
Example of a situation with one of my Guilds (Guild A).
So. Four years ago
Guild A - 4,000 (deactivated by Mod, WTF and it's still on page 2 of the GGN) Guild B - 4,000
Two years ago (when I first joined Gaia and remade the deactivated Guild (with permission from the ex-captain)
Guild A (recreated) - 0 Members Guild B - 6,000 Members
Now
Guild A: 6,500 Members (On Page 3) Guild B: 24,000 Members (On Page 1)
Once you start getting -gravity- as I call it, you don't have to worry, but it's to early in the running to think people will just come here of their own accord, especially since a certain other GUild already is pushing over 100 members.
I don't think we can count on people just 'coming to us' at this point. If this is going to be a successful Guild, It needs active recruiting.
...Just my thoughts. <.< *ranted*

Oh-hoh. Do you, or do you not think it is too cheeky to post a link to this guild in new guild owner's recruitment threads? "(Semi-personalised comment about their guild). Good luck with your guild! biggrin If you ever need any help with anything, come to the Captains Guild, and we should be able to help you out. n_n"

whee I think even with the RG's liberal enforcement of its few rules, we could expect at least some of those posts to be reported and deleted for spamming or thread hijacking. sweatdrop

Yeah, not really a good idea. We do need to make an official thread in the Registered Guilds Forum though, if we don't already have one? (that I don't know about... XD)

XD) Here it is (: I think I need to reword it a little though sweatdrop @JVCA That might not be the best thing to do sweatdrop If you can be sneaky about it and engage the owner in a conversation about his/her guild and bring this guild up as being a helpful resource if he ever needs it, then that'd be fine I think, but the other way may be a bit too obvious XD

Someone would have to keep track of which captains had already been sent invites though.

why not just become affiliates with the other Captains guild? is it a place to help people, or another guild greedy over who has more members?
I am a member of both Captains guilds. they both have good ideas, and some of the same exact stuff, so why not reach out, and make two, like both sides of the same coin? Mapping your world
