Ed's car pulled into the driveway of a typically suburban, one-story house. By all appearances it could not possibly have "a few extra rooms" to spare, and in fact could only house a couple and their young children, maybe a dog or two, comfortably. On closer inspection, there appeared to be signs of construction that amounted to nothing and supports that held up only the thick, chilly night air. But by the nature of its layout progress was growing forever inward, and as Mel looked out the window he realized that this place would never be "done." He decided though, that it was all right...

"We're here," the wolf said needlessly. He had pulled the car into what appeared to be a one-car garage, but when he stepped out there were at least five other cars parked on either side. The far walls of the garage disappeared into darkness, the available space undefined. He came around to Tunda's side and opened the door, leaning in a little. "Take your time getting out," though Mel was already unfastening their seat belts.

Tunda slowly forces himself to sit up so that he was no longer leaning on Mel and pulling his own hands up into his lap, gathering up the bits of chain that dangled from the shackles on his wrists so that they wouldn't make too much noise when he moved about. It was instinctual for him, and he'd had hold of them for most of his converstations with Mel, only quietly setting them down in his lap when the other had gotten the food. He was surprised that no one had commented on them, or if they had even noticed them. He looks up at Ed and gives a very small, very rare and shy smile. "T-Thank you.." He says softly before flicking his eyes back down towards his lap, the ice pack more than half melted by the time they had gotten to the house.

Ed grinned brightly, stopping himself from patting Tunda on the back halfway into the motion. He did not really want to hurt him any further. "No problem, kid..."

Mel stepped out of the car on his own side and crossed over to Tunda's door. He held out his clawed hand to him, eying the chains in the other's hands and wondering if he should offer to take the ice pack. "Ready?" he asked, the wolf getting ready to help him much as they had before. "If you want, I can take that for you."

Tunda looks up at Mel as the other opened the door closest to him, then slowly scooted his way over, gingerly placing his feet against the ground outside before lightly grabbing Mel's hand and pulling himself up, a slight hiss of pain escaping him as his injured knee announced itself once more. "R-Ready.."

"Ugh, kid, don't put your weight on that knee." Ed shivered a little as he leaned under Tunda's arm to take on his weight.

"Let us carry your weight. Like he said, don't use that leg, you'll only make it worse." Mel moved under Tunda's other side and managed to move them away from the car enough to kick the door shut. "Okay..."

The wolf lead the way to the inside door while the dragon focused primarily on trying not to jostle Tunda too much. Once they were inside, Mel glanced up at him. "It's only down this hall a little ways. Just so you know... our medic is a naga. I don't know how you are with snakes, but he's very nice and gentle, so you don't have to worry about him.

"Oh yeah, I forgot about that..." Ed laughed with mild sheepishness. Nobody bothered him, so it was easy to forget a 'little' detail like that.

"Well last time we had a visitor need his help the guy freaked out when he saw him. Not a good thing to be afraid of your doctor..."

Tunda allows the two to carry him in without fuss, blinking and looking up as Mel tells him about their doctor. "I-I'll try not to worry.." He mumbles, eyeing the hallway warily. His tail flicks rapidly behind him, showing his anxiety and fear as it also bristled the slightest bit.

"It'll be all right," Mel said quietly, too close to the other not to notice his nervousness. "He'll make sure everything is wrapped up properly and give you some better medicine, then he'll leave you alone."

"Here it is," Ed said in subdued tones, bringing them to a stop at the doorway and starting to maneuver for the opening. It was wide enough for them to pass through easily, however.

Inside, Asalind was wringing his fingers as he tried to catch anything he may have missed. He had been warned ahead of time that he would be seeing a patient, but in haste it is so very easy to miss a couple of things. He was brought out of his mental inventory by scuffling footsteps.

"Oh..." He was quick to hide his surprise at the anthro's condition, but could not hide the momentary widening of his green eyes. "Bring him over here," he gestured to a table. It was padded, but unavoidably chilly.

Tunda froze at first, seeing the Naga, then, hearing the other two reassuring him, he calms down, allowing them to help him over to the table and sitting on it awkwardly, his hands fiddling nervously with the chains hanging from his shackles.

The naga blinked in surprised at the sight of chains. Casting a questioning look at the dragon, he only received a shrug and a grin of what appeared to be embarrassment, or perhaps incredulity. Asalind nodded and turned back to Tunda and smiled. He was careful, as always, to smile without showing his fangs, to move slowly. His ability to move very quickly and natural features - the fangs and a rattle at the end of his tail - normally disturbed people greatly. These were things he could not change about himself, but he did go out of his way to make them feel more comfortable and safe.

Mel spoke up. "This is Tunda. He was thrown down the stairs after being being beaten by his former... master." He glanced back at Tunda for a moment before nodding at Asalind. "I did my best to patch him up, then his other master did a better job..." he ended the statement with a chuckle. Aion was probably well-practiced when it came to putting people back together.

"He did a good job, by my estimation." The naga was careful so far to look and not touch. Some of the bandages were vaguely discolored, but not bleeding profusely. The knee and eye looked terrible - the former would need a splint and probably a crutch, the latter probably only needed more ice. He worried that the anthro might be bleeding internally. He had no way to fix such a condition; they should take him to a hospital, not an herbalist who now studied medicine out of necessity. "Tell me Tunda... does it hurt any of your ribs to breathe?" As the naga asked this, he moved away to gather what he needed for the leg splint. "Would one of you please bring that crutch from over there?"

Ed took up the charge, wandering over to where a crutch leaned against a counter in the corner. He chuckled as he picked it up. "Hey, I recognize this thing. I've seen Jimi use it."

Mel rolled his eyes. "Why am I not surprised by that?" He sighed and glanced back at Tunda, patting his arm lightly and smiling a little.

Tunda blinks at the question and shakes his head slightly. "N-no, which is surprising... My former... Master... made sure my chest didn't meet with his feet or fists when he beat me. He just cut me up with his knives there." He leans into the patting subconsiously, tail flicking slowly beside him now.

Asalind's eyes widened subtly. "He did not hit or kick you?" Perhaps he would be fine... "Still... I think tomorrow you should get him to a hospital, just in case... It is hard to say with internal injuries, which may still have occurred falling down stairs."

Mel nodded. "We can do that, get some sleep first though, eh?" he grinned. And since Tunda seemed to like the physical touch, for security or whatever reason, he kept his hand on the other's shoulder.

"What about your head? Do you know if you hit it on the way down?" As he spoke, the naga flashed a light in the newcomer's eye, checking for reflex. "Feel any dizziness, unusual sleepiness?" He was coherent anyway. Shock seemed to be very minimal...

He continued with the routine, cleaned and re-wrapped wounds, then moved on to the leg. Carefully he checked out the knee before stabilizing and wrapping it up.

Meanwhile, handing over the crutch, Ed had taken to leaning against an out-of-the-way counter top. He waited in case he was needed for anything else, though once Tunda had his crutch he would be able to move around on his own.

Tunda blinks, then shakes his head. "He did hit and kick me, just not on the torso or abdomen. He kept those kinds of blows to my arms and legs, and one blow to my face...." He motions to his still mostly puffy eye. "He didn't want to damage anything that might stab through my organs... If he were planning on killing me, he would have done it outright, not left me how Ma... Mel found me."

"Well... if you didn't hit your head falling down the stairs it's probably safe to sleep." Asalind nodded to Tunda. None of the anthro's cuts seemed to need stitches. His black eye seemed not to include a broken nose. His knee would take therapy to heal.

The naga moved away from the table, eying the crutch for a moment as it leaned against the table. "Take it easy with that knee. Ask people to help you around if you have any problem at all with it, and ask them to get you anything you need. A lot of people try to muscle through it but all the connective tissue is stretched out. It needs to tighten and heal, which means you need to baby it." He looked back at Mel and Ed. "He'll be all right. You need to make sure that eye gets more ice though."

The dragon nodded to Asalind. "Thanks a bunch," he grinned then looked back at Tunda. "Let's see... we have a guest room empty. You can stay there until we can set up a room for you if you like." Mel turned back to Ed, who approached the table; he had wandered off again to grab an ice pack for Tunda.

"All right, let's get you down from there," Ed grinned. It was nice to see a happy ending turning out for this guy.

(( Very sorry for the delay. x.x <3 ))

Tunda nods at the Naga's instructions before slowly grasping the crutch, eyeing it uncertainly before slowly attempting to ease himself off the table, making sure the only foot that touched the ground was his good foot. He wobbles for a moment, trying to get used to the feeling of using one leg to move while holding the other up off the floor and using the crutch to walk. His long tail flicks rapidly behind him for a moment before seeming to find one certain position to hold and help maintain his balance.

Glancing back up at Mel and Ed, he gives a small nod, then attempts taking his first step with the crutch, almost falling on his face.

((XD Tis alright luff.))

Ed's eyes widened, and though they both saw Tunda beginning to fall, the wolf had quicker reflexes and rushed to give him a supporting arm. He was accustomed to catching staggering customers.

"This is going to take some getting used to," Mel sighed. "I had to use crutches once... it actually hurt after a while..."

The wolf glanced back at the dragon and nodded, then turned back to Tunda. "Let's take it nice and slow. If you need a break we'll just stop and lean against the wall or something."

"But it's right down the hall only a couple of doors, so don't worry. Soon you'll be able to get rest all you need."
