On a car ride home from a meetup, I couldnt stop talking about these two dandys that showed up (I've never seen a dandy before) and how they looked so cute. my mom said "well theres only two reasons a boy would want to dress in dandy.
1: to meet girls in lolita because there more modest and classy
2: they're gay"
what do YOU think?
PLEASEE DONT SPAM THIS BOARD WITH "dandys are gay!" SORT OF THING. THAT ISNT WHAT THIS BOARD IS ABOUT. thank you. sweatdrop

Honestly, sexual preference really doesn't play that much of a role in this particular fashion most of the time. You have people of both sexes and all sexual orientations wearing different styles at different times, it's all a matter of preference and what suits that person in particular.
As an example, my best friend dressed up this weekend in kodona when we went out. Normally, I put her in one of my lolita outfits and drag her along, but this weekend we changed things up and borrowed clothes from a friend for her outfit. She looked great! She is not, however, a lesbian. She very much likes boys; she's just more comfortable in that style and it suits her better than super frilly lolita.
In the case of your dandies, I'd almost wonder if they're dating some of the lolitas you met? That's often the case, as it's quite a bit of fun to have your significant other dress up with you if you go out. (:

-C'est la lune qui conduit la danse...-
iawtc.
One of my friends is gay, and he dresses both in boystyle and in lolita.
And another 1-2 guys I know dress boystyle, but aren't gay.
And then there was one shallow a*****e who I'd rather not think about ( >> wink , who dresses in boystyle just to get girls.

Well it could just be because they like the fashion. I know if I were a guy I'd wear kodona. I dress kodona sometimes XP but I am not a lesbian.

Well, I have a friend who's already into Steampunk...so he says Aristocrat is just a step up on the elegance from that, so he does it sometimes. It's quite fun to head out to the mall and have people ask us if it's some sort of publicity stunt. XD

The only guy I know who dresses in dandy does so because he loves the Victorian era and idolizes Oscar Wilde.
