It was a beautiful day in Autumn. The leaves where changing color, the air was crisp and cool. The smell of cinnamon seemed to fill the air this day. Nothing could be so perfect as this in the Little orange fillies mind. It had only been a few days since October came out from her basket but already she was curious. For the first time she had wondered away from her family, but not to far. They where but a lope away if something should happen.
Smiling and sighing she pounced around the ground, feeling and hearing the crunching under her hooves. The first time this had happened she was startled by it, but after being explained what it was, she no longer feared it. The ground was covered in leaves. Every color that fall brought now laid on the ground underneath her young hooves, ready for her to crunch. With every step the filly took, a creeping sensation would go up her legs. Oh how she ust loved to hear that crunching noise.

 the cool autumn day seemed perfict to Solilus to go innocently wandering off from the safety of his parents and siblings. he was loving the cool air as most if not all his family loved and prefured the cooler weather. carefully making his way around, hardly expecting another foal to be around. upon hearing crunching noises, he stopped and tilted his head and eyed the other foal in a inoccent mannor.

October was so consumed in the crunching under her feet she almost didnt notice the second set of crunching as a foal approached before stopping and looking at her. Lifting her head she stopped what she was doing and looked around to where the other foal was standing.
Never before had she seen another foal other then her siblings. Looking over at him the first thing she seemed to notice was his strange coloring. Walking over, while the leaves continued to snap and crackle under her feet she gave a smile as his head was titled at her. Just as he was a strange sight to her, she probably was to him. As she got closer she could now see the horn on his head.
Her eyes could not help but look. It was a sharp object protruding out of his head. October had never seen a unicorn before and this being her first experience seeing not only a unicorn but a foal outside her family. She because a little excited. Stopping but a few feet away from him her soft quiet voice squeaked a little at first as she talked,
" Hi! ... what are you?"

" why do you ask that? im no different than you" he spoke in a soft voice just like his mother did and little did he realize that she ment his horn. ofcourse he knew he was different from is parents and siblings because he only had the unicorn horn but he shrugged that off though he felt odd for being the only none wingged out of his siblings and parents. head still tlted, he noticed she had squeaked and spoke in a soft voice as well.

The small dapply filly giggled at his question. He had not noticed how different she was too him apparently. In his presence she seemed rater plain. If not for her coloring she would be plain. Smiling a sweet little filly smile and pounced towards him once before stating,
" Well.. you have something coming out of your head.. it looks sharp.. like a horn. I haven't seen one like you before!"
It was true and to October he seemed rather special with his horn. But she did not envy him as her innocence did not allow such a thing in her world, she merely pointed out the obvious with a giggle of curiosity and a light voice.

Solilus jumped back in shocked when she pounced at him. wide eyed with a little shock, he stayed rigged in place. " whaa my horn? but everyone in my family has one except my dad and his family." he eyed her and took a timid step towards her. " to me your odd with your strips........." ofcourse he should of thought his own family was odd with the paint markings that where blue or black or mixed. tail swishing, he wrinkled his muzzle in thought as he stared at her with his red eyes finding her earth tone colors way different from his familys blues, whites and blacks mixed.

" Well no one in my family has anythings' like you described."
Smiling the young filly backed up a step as he went forward. Almost as if she were sizing him up in a playful since. Looking over him as he spoke she watched him intently with sparking orange eyes, hanging on every word before replying.
" My mother has stripes, i got them from her."
Beaming proudly at that fact, she giggle snorted and trotted around him once in a circle. Stopped. Then faced him again smiling. As she did that she had looked him over. His body, the patterns, and particularly the colors. She didn't think their was such things as a blue soquili. Still smiling she spoke with her light voice, carried to him by the wind that passed,
" Well i'm of the earth and you look like you are of the sky. You remind me of the puffy clouds against the blue sky."
Octobers logic was a little odd at this point in life, but no one could argue the filly logic. She still had a lot to learn, like why soquili had different colors for example. For the moment, she believed he was made of clouds and she, of mud.

Solilus watched her every move and attempted to follow her as she circled him but that only caused him to spin around and fall onto his rump. shaking his head to be rid of the dizzy spell that came over him from spinning around, he spoke spoftly as usual. " i guess i can't argue with that." he really did look like he had a swirl of dark and light clouds marked on him like a hurrican but his timid, innocent personality was complete opposit to his pattern on his coat.

Smiling it was only now that October had noticed that his eyes where red. He looked like the sky, a lot indeed, but his eyes threw everything off a bit. Not thinking of it, her smile stayed. Thinking back to her own body, the thing she admired the most on herself was that her tail was striped like her mothers. Swishing it around proudly behind her has she thought, another thought crossed into her little foal-ish head and she looked over to the foal in front of her and spoke once more,
" Ohh! I know what i forgot to do before i talked to you. I didnt tell you mt name. Im October!"

" oh....my name is Solilus." to Solilus, October's name suited her just fine, just like he felt his name suited him well. it was indeed true that his simi bright red eyes did tend to throw off the cloudy sky look his body had, which where from his father. " hey..your eyes match your coat." it was a habit of his to randomly point of the obivious, just like earlyer he spoke of her strips on her face and neck.

She only repeated this to remember. At this stage repeating everything important seemed to help a lot. Looking over at him she looked a little surprised when he pointed out that her eyes and coat matched and giggled lightly at this. October had not thought about that before so this thought brought her great amusement. Though she was glad that her name and colors did match as for the moment, fall happened to be her favorite season.
Everything was so colorful, there was still life, new and old. Besides all that, the ground crunched under her weight which brought much delight to her tender ears. Looking back at him again, straight in the eye, she retaliated with pointing the obvious back to him,
" And your eyes are like apples, they dont match your pattern at all but, it is still nice... we are opposites"

" hmm? i suppose your right." his red eyes where somethign that ran in the family as his father, grandfather and great grandfather all had red eyes wether they be bright red or a darker red. Solilus prefured the colder weather as he was born in the cool weather so at the moment he enjoyed the weather. ".......what to do now" he wasnt asking a question, he was more again as always stating the obivous which at the moment he wondered what to do.

She giggled looking over to him with full spirits. Bouncing towards him she bumped her nose on his shoulder and ran away. She only hoped he would get that she had just started a game of tag. Loping as fast as her long spindly legs would take her without tripping. October was already half way across the field.

" huh!!" wided eyed and confused, Solilus watched her run a moment before chasing after her. " HEY WAIT UP!!!!" he never really played games with his siblings as he was the more laid back calm one. trying to run as fast as he could, he wanted to atlest catch her since she ran off.

Giggling the young filly slowed up a bit watching as he ran. October had never really played with her siblings either as one was a bit of a snob to her, and the other, she hadn't really seen all that much of. She did how ever play this game with her father and his familiar and so yelled back to Solilus,
" Have you played tag before? You have to catch me if you want to win!"
October smiled and then sped up again, as she raced away from him in the field.
