This setting actually takes place before current events. Its rather a flashback if you will of conversations since past. Please do not post without my permission. I'd prefer this a solo journey actually...

The days of summer were shifting as leaves began making their journey toward fall. Occasionally they'd grow brittle and die, but yet new ones took their place. Animals of different sizes and colors meandered about gathering winter forage and bouts of play there soon after. The sky a painted ocean of blue harnessing white clouds so soft you could reach upward and touch them. The grasses were green still as the summer life flowed openly in rays of warm sunlight. Everything was pure harmony as it were meant to be.

Moving easily through the taller strands of emerald grasses there walked a little blue mare known as Kunai. Now fully grown she took things nice and easy taking time to simply enjoy life and things around her. Even each scent, every animal, and the way the wind played in her curved purple, teal, and white tresses was something she cherished. Everything was interesting and yet she never investigated. She was quite cautious as her legs moved smoothly ready to bolt should danger try and envelop her.

A familiar figure caught the little mare's attention as her eyes fixated upon the tall male. There was no surprise or fear in her eyes as the child would have expressed. Simply quiet adoration knowing he would finally give her a chance to be an equal to him. The thought was a bit far fetched but really he looked upon her as someone that could be equal to him in a fight or given situation. Today she decided to become a little brave perhaps and ask him a few things. True he'd be pissy and unresponsive, but there were some things she desired to know about him. The whole past talk from the unicorn Arwen made her curious as to who and what this angeni really was.

Clearing her throat she approached him with her head held high never showing weakness. Sasuke really loathed girls that lusted after him she knew this all too well. The slightest swoon or sigh would send him into a retort that usually spooked all the other mares away. Kunai wasn't like that and dared not ever be though he took her breath away. Those long gorgeous wings, strong frame, and power that radiated from his very soul would make any mare simply squeal she was near him. No, she could not and never would give him a chance to ever look at her like the other mares.

Walking up near him she spoke, "Hello Sasuke sensei. Can I talk with you for a bit?" She was a bit nervous yet her mother's curious nature sat a little too well with her. That could be a very bad thing or a good thing.

"Somethings have been on my mind and I want you to clear that blockage. Tell me who and why you are Sasuke. Where you and Naruto come from and how you got here. I'm not a foal mind you so please don't treat me like one." she paused looking directly into those cold black eyes, "I just need to know." Sure she may of been trembling but her determination was highly strong helping her to stand up to the cold male.

He knew she was arriving before she even spoke. His hearing was quite keen and he knew various things. First off was the way she moved that he recognized and remembered her from as she grew. First meeting was a bit odd because she assured him she'd never talk to monsters. While the thought was rather amusing to Naruto, the angeni carrying the Uchiha name was infuriated by it. He certainly was no monster and would cow kick any moron with his back leg that deserved such treatment. He was a proud shinobi with a legendary namesake. Who else could attain such credibility that deeply relative to his own he taunted. No one could and he would stand in the way of anyone thinking otherwise. Even Naruto whom acknowledged him a little too much could never be as proud as an Uchiha.

"Perhaps.." he responded with that deep alluring voice. Kunai wanting information was nothing new really but what she asked afterward grabbed his attention fully. Till that point he had been standing quite idle thinking about things and trying to remember things from his past. How odd she'd ask this of him knowing full well the depressive pain she'd inflict to both herself and him. Still though he had never breathed his past to no one except small given examples when he was asked as a gennin shinobi. Back when he was paired within Cell 7 with team Kakashi. How odd these thoughts bubbled up in his mind now.

Naruto was the useless idiot always showing off. Then there was Sakura the dimwitted fangirl that squealed and swooned every time she looked at him. Finally there was Kakashi whom always annoyed the hell out of Sasuke. Always late, nose in a book, and god forbid better then any of them. It was almost insulting to be compared to his so-called teammates as lower then their sensei. Sasuke just needed more practice that was all there was to it.

He narrowed those cold orbs at the little blue mare rolling his eyes in protest. Soon after though he sighed, "Whatever. fine I'll talk with you, Ku-chan." he grumbled with a snort. Of all the damn things she had to ask - perhaps that's why his memories were so fluid.

Where to begin he wondered as he narrowed his eyes though Sasuke let the mare stand near him. He supposed childhood was a good way to break the ice so to speak. It was miserable memory and yet he desired to recall it from those blackened depths he so despised.

"I suppose I'll give you a memory that may very well break you as it broke me. Something I've hidden from even Naruto and your father; my childhood." he nodded with a deep grunt. It was painful to talk of such things and yet he wanted to. Was he so different here in this world that he desired to express his feelings and thoughts so openly? It was mind boggling to the cold male as he shivered inadvertently at the thought of being "expressive".

"You know me all too well, Ku-chan... that I don't talk about my life to others. I've never felt anyone worthy enough to hear my memories. So... you better damn well appreciate this.. runt." he glared at her for a moment then began the start of his memories.

"I'm an Uchiha if you didn't know already. A proud clan that breathes flame when we reach maturity. So proud in fact that I was put on a damn pedestal in the academy being the best excelling at everything. But never once could I catch up to that b*****d I admired. Always second to him in my father's eyes. Was it too hard dad for you to acknowledge me past Itachi? I hate you all so help me." he cursed bringing those black eyes to a piercing gaze out past Kunai, "You selfless b*****d I hope you're rotting in hell right now for what you did." The stallion looked upward to the sky and screamed a threatening cry...

"Rot in hell you b*****d because I will hunt you till the day I die! I learned what hate was! I learned what strength is! Come dance under these hooves dear brother so I may exact my revenge I promised you!" he called louder rearing upward as he pawed the air before returning firmly to all fours.

Noticing Kunai looking at him with rather wide shocked eyes he quieted draining slowly into her crimson eyes as if they were a pacifier for his anger. What was it about her he wondered that made him calm and think properly? For now he'd continue with his story some more since he was becoming calm already.

Kunai was a bit overjoyed at such an offered tale she didn't realize just what lay in store for her along the way. His words touched her very soul and then even places she never knew receded in her heart and mind. Anger a threatening word traveled in his deep frustrated voice more so then usual. The little blue mare knew Sasuke was indeed different then herself and even others like her family from what she sensed from him. This angeni was something more then a mere multi-winged soquili, he was a creature of poor fortune. How incredibly horrible it was to hear of a family, a proud clan as he called it dissolved and denied existence due to one individual.

Someone Sasuke apparently idolized in his closest bloodline had betrayed the family. It was just too heart wrenching to consider the outcome knowing full well everyone was... murdered? Oh what a harsh word to escape from her thoughts so easily. One soul murdering an entire family depriving them that proud name they all carried. His older brother- someone that was supposed to love and protect his younger sibling.

"Oh Sasuke I didn't know. I'm so sorry." she expressed her condolences with a startled sigh as her crimson eyes nestled on him apologetically. He was in such pain its no wonder he was angry and cold as ice around everyone. As her tears started welling within her eyes she frowned breathing with slight breaths as if she would cry.

A ninja must show no emotion. They must remain calm and focused at all times.

But honestly how could she when Kunai a proud bloodline to Kakashi would cry a thousand times over for the Uchiha. She willingly shed that suffering from her eyes and sob if only he'd smile once for her. But smiling was something that died ages ago with him, a long lost forgotten sediment buried so far in his heart it was untraceable.

"Oh Sasuke..." she murmured with a flick of her ears, "You don't have to continue this tale for I understand it pains you so to speak of it. Please bury that sadness and no longer let it consume you like this. Naruto, Father, they care very much for you and wish you to feel at ease someday. To smile and laugh with a happiness making you want to fight for and protect the ones you love." She looked at him directly with a soft smile hoping he'd do the same even if it was a tiny gesture. One thing Nitika taught her daughter was that laughter was always the best medicine for anything.

Kunai being saddened placed a heavy weight on the stallion's mind. He pondered stopping as she requested, but this soul was not his own. Sasuke in that other lifetime could of never spoke that easily to her. Hell the Uchiha would of found her repulsive and bland to the point of murmuring how annoying she was. But this form, this damn unstoppable intellect wanted to express itself as an unhinged creature before her. Sasuke was loosing himself in this lifetime and he was frightened.

Shaking his head he grunted, "No. I promised I'd tell you and I won't keep that hidden where it will dwell and consume miserable regret again. Let me speak this for it may be the only time you'll ever know, Ku-chan."

Raising his head he breathed closing those deep black eyes from the sunlight before he resumed once more.

"A prodigy, that's what I was called among my peers. The great legendary Uchiha clan could crush mountains and stop the sun from its rotation. Exaggeration yes but not far from the point. We were placed on mountain peaks and reveled as some sort of God in the world of Konoha. We could not be beaten and we acknowledged that. Coming of age our fire element and bloodline limit jutsu were our weapons. Sharingan was a highly dangerous tool... we used it well. Able to see and copy techniques Uchiha advanced higher then no other." he grunted with a deep sigh, "You see now why I have to be better.. no I am better then Naruto. Always that Dobe will be one step under me because Uzumaki is not an Uchiha."

"I only wish I wasn't expected of so much."

The stallion closed his eyes murmuring the name "Itachi" once more. He hated his brother so much but really his heart was pining for those old days when he was close. How his brother carried him when Sasuke mindlessly showing off injured his foot. Trying so much to be like Itachi always made himself look like he tried too hard. He adored his brother so much for the older Uchiha was so quick and precise throwing his kunai. Sasuke burned it deep within himself to become like Itachi... no better then was what he was thinking. For if he could prove to his father that he was as good as his brother, then he would hear those same words spoken so proudly.

"That's my boy... as expected from my child. Dad always said it to my brother because he was the prodigy not me, Ku-chan. I was just Uchiha Sasuke the younger brother. Till that day..."

The day his father took him to the pier to teach him that jutsu of the family name. The element of fire that coursed through their blood. Able to dispel a fire technique in the form of attack as easily as those kalona dragons they faced. So proud was Sasuke that he beamed eagerly waiting to be able to perfect this jutsu. To show his father how grown he truly was...

"Maybe it was too early for you... An Uchiha member is only seen as an adult when he can use Katon. I was so weak I couldn't even surpass him! But that didn't stop me, Ku-chan. No... I practiced day after day perfecting that damn technique so I could be an "Uchiha" like father. Till that day I went to him asking to watch what I learned."

The sky blazed with flame lapping out in reds, oranges, and yellow hues. A deep powerful burst from those small lungs raising his father's eyes in astonishment. Sure Sasuke was a couple years off when his brother learned it, but Sasuke was catching up. Then father walked away and it depressed him... I tried so damn hard. But then father paused and spoke...

"As expected you are my child. From now on you can shamelessly wear the family crest on your back. You must now improve, and then you can soar to great heights. You did well" the stallion looked deeply at the mare in his happier tale with almost a flicker of calmness about him before continuing, "Then he said something to break my moment of success. Also do not follow after your brother anymore..."

The stallion then paused to seek reaction from the mare before him. It was a bit hard to fathom he bet because frankly unless you were a soquili with demon traits there was no way you could seriously breathe flame. He now wondered how she take to the truth of him being once like those....two-leggers in that other life. The biggest thing right now though was what did this all mean referring to these odd memories. He knew nothing before he arrived near Feena and Yuuri along with very little with Sharingan's help. What exactly did this all mean as this tale unraveled from a place he vaguely knew about anyway?

Kunai never dreamed she would have gotten a response of a past forbidden to all other ears. Sasuke past his cold interior was hurt deep inside more so then she'd understand. Murmurings of his brother were highly evident along with the hate he had consumed in his youth. Severe intent to loathe someone was the most heart wrenching thing that anyone could ever fathom.

She settled herself for Kunai knew this tale would be lengthy at best. The little mare would never overlook a chance to hear the true side of the stallion that relived memories from his past. Even she herself through her days as a foal couldn't match up to such a figure as Uchiha Sasuke. For that matter not even Naruto or her father even for they were esteemed ninjas with years of training and patience.

Now, when he started his tale after that outburst she learned of his family. He was the youngest trying to succeed in his father's eyes only second to a prodigy; the best of the clan. While she knew nothing of Itachi, she realized Sasuke looked up to him as a child more then anything else. But of course being the youngest Kunai realized that Sasuke struggled for attention. Placed behind his eldest sibling he grew disgruntled and determined to surpass him.

She would speak now unless he asked her to, simply to listen and learn his tale of heartbreak and sorrow. His father had acknowledged him finally but the request of not following Itachi was puzzling. There fore she did speak in confusion, "But why would he say something like that? You looked up to Itachi didn't you? " Quieting she blinked embarrassed she had blurted out as much as she did. The last thing Kunai wanted to do was infuriate the stallion.

Kunai was so different hanging on his every word which inspired him to speak freely and release that damn burden that hung like a heavy weight upon him.

Sasuke shook his head, "We'll get to that nightmare later so I may continue more of a time when I was still learning I'll say." he commented letting his mind wander toward his younger days.

"I remember the first day of school where I met that usuratonkachi; Uzumaki Naruto. All I asked for was silence from all of them. Chattering girls and boys that were so eager they were official gennin now."

Sasuke sat there contemplating as usual minding his own business for he knew he'd always be much better then any of them. That's what Uchiha blood was - better then the rest.

"Urusai. They were so damn annoying all of them especially Sakura and Ino fighting to sit next to me. Why the hell couldn't girls leave me the hell alone anyway?" he grumbled snorting in detest against their constant swooning of his presence. What he would have given to be in a class by himself.

Then it happened the fated true meeting of Sasuke and Naruto. A rivalry that would forever stand between them.

"That's when things went to hell. Imagine if you will Kunai, being stared at face to face with the most annoying dobe you could ever have the annoyance of knowing. The one and only Uzumaki Naruto. Oh he was jealous of me I could tell. And damn was he annoying to be in my face like that."

The stallion shifted his weight stretching his wings as he remembered locked memories slowly becoming visible as his irritation still was growing for that little moment he'd rather soon forget.

"That dobe how he irritated me so damn much. We hated each other to the point I felt electric current as our eyes locked. What else was I supposed to do with him in my face like that anyway? I heard them all behind me screaming to beat the living snot out of him. Heh maybe I should have in the end."

Sasuke paused feeling a bit odd remembering this scene. Faintly it had visited him when he was in company of Feena and Yuuri. He tried quickly burying it but truly such a fate such as this deemed itself worthy. He scrunched his muzzle then turned from her disgruntled as if afraid to continue. It took a good ten minutes to finish what he had started.

"I don't know how or why it happened but it did. Because of that little usuratonkachi... " his eye twitched with a violent irritation, "being so close.... argh the b*****d.... " he grumbled trying to regain composure before he said it, "kissed me."

Sasuke literally was so pissed off remembering that he gagged on the spot. His lips touching Naruto's was just nasty and humiliating hearing all the girls scream in horror. His first kiss had been stolen from him by a punk a** kid loathed by everyone. A little annoying pain in the a** who went out of his way to simply be a thorn in the Uchiha's side.

"I gagged... so help me what else could I do. From that day on he was someone I hated so much. I'd see to it he would pay for such a thing. My first kiss violated by him. Who said I ever wanted to be kissed anyway?!" he protested still turned away as his cheeks flushed with a massive tinge. Only when it had passed did he look at her fully though he was beaded with sweat from his embarrassment.

"Usuratonkachi... I'll never forgive you.... ever."

Sasuke shook his head and gagged again before continuing. The next part she'd surely enjoy for it was memories of his first meeting with the great copy ninja. Her father known as the one and only Hatake Kakashi. The stallion was certain she didn't know much of father so for once he openly would relive yet another tale embedded deep within his mind.

Kunai try as she may could not keep her laughter a secret for very long. First off his stories were odd to comprehend explaining in their own way how he was once different then he was now. To act and think like the two-leggers was mind boggling to an equine based creature such as herself.

Now she was trying to understand his tales in depth so the mare would better know her teacher for old times sake in the future. She giggled now and then quieting whenever Sasuke would raise a brow at her or furrow his eyes. She knew very little about the Uchiha and Uzumaki , but through his tales a lot more then she bargained for.

Being raised by the two made the little blue mare see things. Sometimes they seemed distant but overly apparent when she least expected it. Trying to envision Sasuke's expression in this place he learned at seemed quite priceless to her. Knowing his normal response to things it was quite apparent how others would view him. He was indeed handsome, smart, and extremely talented from her own experiences growing through his words and actions. But one thing Sasuke lacked was positive emotion.

Kunai knew she was far from the highly overactive happy-go-lucky sort of girl but she did smile more then her sensei. Cold, endearing, and a piss poor attitude toward everyone was what made Sasuke who he truly was. In one word she'd breathe only to herself in thin whispers - Emo. Honestly he really was in his own little world desiring revenge on someone that she had no idea still existed or not. Strange as it was Kunai wanted to face this darkened shadow and confront him of those crimes to Sasuke's heart.

But that was a different time and reason.

Shaking off that thought Kunai drifted back to the present of Sasuke's words and released a laugh so magical she couldn't contain it.

"You aren't serious? Naruto kissed you?!" she breathed in giggle fits while trying to stay focused on him.

"Naruto would try something like that huh sensei?" she ducked her head downward stifling another laugh. Now horses of course couldn't understand the whole kissing thing as humans did, but Kunai was trying. Looking up she saw his deepness and embarrassment and composed herself.

"I'm done now... you may continue sensei."

Kunai looked toward Sasuke once again as her ears swiveled forward. Now wasn't the time to be impish and forget her manners. Especially when his past was being opened like a budding flower before her. Rich in detail and especially more in depth perspective of the cold-hearted angeni with constant irritability and loathing of everything. Just what was his past concealing from her as she peeked curiously within Sasuke's words?

If Kunai would settle herself and listen she just might find out...

He furrowed his brow into a dark and foreboding expression as eyes of coldness settled upon her. Yes he knew it was quite laughable - him being kissed by Naruto like that. Sasuke was well aware how much this belittled him remembering what it felt like to brush his own two lips upon another owner's foreign mouth. It made him sick and now he was fully appalled the memory was now fluid with a vibrancy she could imagine.

Usuratonkachi. That's what he was calling himself right now- the very same Naruto took as a namesake created by Sasuke himself. Still he wondered something and paused waiting for her to settle. Naruto brushed into his memory again which made the stallion uneasy. Something on that final day was never revealed when he...

Leaving. He remembered it now cursing silently as his eyes shifted away from her direction. He was denying something deep and dark yet so far away he heard it crystal clear.

No. This was too much which the Uchiha couldn't accept nor handle. This girl was here whom he had feelings for... well maybe... no. So damn confusing to even remember yet it was plain as day what he was feeling for his closest friend. He grumbled in a low curse before trying to regain his thoughts.

"I would hope you would be, "he retorted with an uneven irritated response, "Yes its hilarious.. ha ha on the Uchiha. Way to go Uzumaki .. konno usuratonkachi." He hissed with a mock tone to show his dislike of the situation. "Now if you're done we'll continue past the school episode. I'm sure you'll like the next part because it involves your father."

He waited with a solid watch on her knowing when to begin.

"From the day we became gennin I was teamed with two others. One being Haruno Sakura. The other was Uzumaki Naruto. A fangirl and a moron how wonderful for Iruka to team me with the worst team possible. That's what ran through my head as we waited for our sensei."

Sitting there watching the moron place the trap the young boy never thought it possible that a jounin of all people would get caught offguard. Which he did of course .

"How should I say this... My first impression of you guys is... I hate you." He rolled his eyes still scowling at Naruto for being such a dumbass after all. "You see Ku-chan how your father viewed us on the first meeting..."

Past the hysterics and dumbassery they were taken outside so the sensei could get to know them a little better. Eventually he too introduced himself.

"I'm Hatake Kakashi" he said to the three of us, "I have no intentions of telling you my likes and dislikes." The stallion snorted still annoyed at his sensei knowing now his daughter stood before Sasuke as he spoke. "As for my dreams... I have a few hobbies."

Then it was their turn as the mysterious Jounin told them absolutely nothing. First was the knucklehead ninja named Uzumaki Naruto.

"I'm Uzumaki Naruto... I like cup ramen. But I like the ramen at Ichiraku that Iruka-sensei bought for me even more." The stallion snorted thinking to himself that's all that moron ever did like to eat then continued, "What I dislike is waiting for three minutes for cup ramen to cook." Sasuke shook his head wondering why that boy never got sick of junk food such as that slop. Then he continued, "My dream is... to surpass the Hokage!! and then have all the people of the village acknowledge my existence."

The raven never did understand the moronic nature of the Uzumaki variety. He merely just ignored it.

"Then it was my turn..." he announced tossing his head as the long raven tail swished back and forth while in deep thought, " My name is Uchiha Sasuke. There are tons of things I dislike and I really don't like anything." The stallion narrowed his eyes feverishly then continued, "Also, I have an ambition. The resurrection of my clan and... to kill a certain man." Now the stallion's eyes furrowed deep as if the red tinge was favoring to return but didn't. He'd hunt down that man or whatever he was now till the day he died. Never would forgiveness be divine for Uchiha Itachi. Sasuke swore on his own hatred he return the pain and suffering to his brother again. As he shook he tried continuing to escape the rage that was flowing throughout his stolid frame.

Finally, there was Sakura and her fangirl moments which the Uchiha to this day will swear he blocked out. But try as he may it happened yet again - the floodgate of hell upon him.

"Then there was Sakura..." Pausing the stallion rolled his eyes and grunted before continuing for this would surely make Kunai the same as the pink haired dimwit he'd forever leave in the past, "I'm Haruno Sakura...the thing I like is... Well the person I like is...Should I say my dream for the future?..."

Sasuke snorted pawing the ground on this one because she of all people ignored him more then anyone - even Naruto. That girly tone literally drove the stallion crazy and her love for him was revolting. Why in the hell did all the girls swoon over a lone avenger anyway? It had always been like that even in grade school. A simple gathering became nothing but catcalls and swoons in his presence. The whole time she sighed and cooed as she looked at him sitting there deep and unmoving. Sasuke carried no interest in Sakura and never would.

"Then she said something that amused me but I knew it to be true". he snorted with a little smirk laced in laughter.

Clearing his throat he then finished his long wind introduction, "The thing I dislike is Naruto." Sasuke chuckled in spite of himself knowing full well just about everyone in the begining hated, no loathed Naruto. He was a moron, a child that would never succeed... a... Now he paused and those same whispered thoughts brushed his mind causing the male to fidgit and look away again.

This time was much worse as he fought to control everything finally coughing out what he needed, "Then we were sent to survival exercises... Not a good start in my book really."

Sasuke looked at Kunai hoping she'd understand what he was saying even now. Itachi and feelings unknown bubbled over in the stallion's head so frantically he thought his frame would crumble and dissolve into nothing.
