Cassie lazed about in the comforting silence that seemed to wrap around her like a blanket. She lay down on her side with her legs seemingly limp as she lifted a paw to play with the mist that seemed to flow and fade from her body. It was almost amusing to her to think on mist that came straight out of her body, but she was also a bit bothered by the feeling of it being almost not right, not quite how it should be.. With a light sigh, she dropped her paw softly to the ground and let her eyes wander for any bit of movement that might come her way.

Those eyes.....not those eyes....

The calm green eyes before him began to fade backward into the darkness. He ran as fast as he count until he slipped off into a hole that seemed to come out of nowhere.

"..you can't leave me!" He woke up and screamed. Still more mortal then anything as it seemed...he was still having dreams about them. Why? He growled and got up from the cold ground then began to walk. His eye scanned around the area as he watched people pass him without a problem. Oh, how these people seemed to be so depressed about death but their nearly eternal lives could be lived to the fullest..and yet..they sit depressed about the thins they lost.

His blood had ran cold now and his face did the same. Is it really the things we lose in the process that change a person? "Yeah..." He said to himself as he sat down on the edge of the street and looked into the darkness...all he could see was those eye..why here though? Was he dreaming? No...that was a girl..."But it can't be" He looked away and started to walk away, he was being so stupid.

Having no thoughts in particular, she watched as several people seemed to drag their bodies around in this world. It was depressing, but she couldn't help following them with her expressionless eyes until movement from another of the mournful bodies caught her attention.

Suddenly, she heard such a.. an almost delightful rhythmic noise-- a light c***k-c***k-ing that rang so loudly in her ears, she sat up and began to scavenge the horizon. Gracefully getting up to her feet, she walked casually, yet at a more or less slow pace, toward the source of this alluring sound. I predict a good find at the end of this trail~

But just as suddenly as the sound came to her mind, it died away back to the silence that gave her a feeling of home. Coming to a gradual stop in her tracks, Cassie plopped herself back on the ground next to a bush of some sort. Her eyes, emotionless to an outside viewer but filled with a kind of greed behind the facade, drove again and again between the people passively walking by, eagerly searching for the something that had so powerfully piqued her interest.

He noticed later on that he was being followed. He could hear the noise of his iron ball that followed him hit the ground, it seemed to make him no difference....he had gotten used to it. When he stopped and listened, whoever it was went away.

He sighed and kept going. My imagination was playing tricks on me. His tails wiped around as he caught the site of a beautiful woman from behind, on...how the sight of her silk dress made him smile. He kept walking and kept his eyes on her. When she turned around he was faced with his fear and kept walking, even faster. The ball hit the ground at a faster rate.

His eye remained blank and heartless. "This place is a hell" He said with a cruel smile as he walked. Where am I going? A few hours in this place and I feel like I'm at home. He laughed to himself and kept walking with that same cruel grin, but still in it was no trace of joy...just hate for himself.

She stared off into the distance, feeling useless as she couldn't find her potential treasure. Her eyes might have made contact with another pair, but her mind didn't think long enough (or honestly care enough) to notice, she just wanted to satisfy her thirst for that noise! And- ahh.. there it was again~ But where could it be coming from? Cassie thought as her head flicked toward a place not far from where she was searching less than a minute ago. She knew she was closer though, the sharp chinking had gotten even louder now.

Again, she picked herself up with exquisite grace, and listening intently, guessed at the direction of the sound source. Trying to keep from being obvious, she followed at a comfortable pace, but a couple quick steps couldn't help but come out in hopes of reaching her prize faster. It wasn't too long before she noticed another form, moving at relatively the same speed, in the same direction, but things still found themselves in her line of vision, keeping her from catching any glimpse of whatever might be making the noise. Cassie supposed it was some sort of metal, but that's as far as she let her assumptions go.

Solomon turned around and met face to face with the person following him. His lips curled into an even bigger smile then he looked into her eyes. "Alane..." He said to himself then looked away from her. His cheeked turned red as he sniffed the air a bit, he could smell her blood. His lips quivered and he walked away.

"My mind is playing tricks on me, I guess" He said and felt his claws run across the cold cement of the alley way. "How wonderful is must be to be a girl like you" He laughed as his body went limp. The once cold face filled with tears. "I'm sorry Alane..so sorry" He said to himself as he curled up on the ground. His body broke out into a cold sweat...he knew what he needed..he just didn't want to take it by force. "Alane....I want to join you...but I can't die..I only suffer" He told himself..the few hours he had been here were the worse and he learned something very helpful here. You cannot kill yourself here...you only suffer the pain you have inflicted upon yourself.

Frozen in her path as eyes met another eye, she waited patiently, stepped with a light paw slightly to the side, as if to let him have a good look, and listened. Cassie took a quick glance to the floor and found her source-- a metal ball and chain cuffed tightly around the back leg of the form she had kept her gaze on. Then turning her eyes back up just as quickly, she almost found herself staring at his eye patch, but from the distance between them, he probably couldn't tell. His appearance seemed to scream 'dangerous' at her, but this only interested her more (although she kept her own expressionless appearance).

His lips moved, but his words were inaudible to her. She turned her head from side to side, confused if he was talking about or even to her.. Suddenly, his demeanor took on a dramatic change and she felt a twinge of worry, almost reluctantly. Walking with hesitant steps toward his fallen curled-up body, Cassie held her head down close to his and sniffed at the bandage she now noticed. She looked deeply into his eye and sent him images of his body drenched in cold sweat, a feeling of worry for his health, and in a sense, asked what she could do to help.

His eyes locked with hers. He saw the image of himself and sighed. This moment was too perfect, it was so perfect. "Alane.I'm sorry...I'm sorry for what did...what I have become..and what I'm about to do" He said and rose to her level and leaned closure to her neck. His lips pressed against her skin and his fangs extended.

He was thirsty. His eyes were in a dream like state and his body seemed so venerable in this state of mind. "You will forgive me...right?" He whispered against her neck. For him, time moved so slowly. The reaction of 'Alane' would most likely shock him if he pushed her away.

Cassie grew incredibly tense and wary as he spoke, none of it seemed understandable. Alane..? Her eyes widened at his unexpected touch and she immediately tried to jerk herself back, out of his grasp. She sent a quick image of fear to his mind (a mind that didn't seem all very together at the moment) and pressed lightly with a weak paw on whatever part of him was closer, his shoulder it seemed, to try to push herself away, but the fangs had already dug deeply for her blood and she felt like she couldn't move.

Her deep emotionless eyes grew narrow, she felt helpless as she realized his answer to her offer for help. Well, fudge.. Something is really out to get me, even in this world.. Sensing his breath on her neck as he spoke, she felt her strength greatly fading away, her body was starting to slump closer to the ground. Now closer to slits, her eyelids drew lower and eventually shut completely over her eyes. All she could do was wait.. and hope that nothing too bad would result from this mess she got herself in.

Solomon moaned every so slightly as the warm blood flowed through him. He stopped and looked at the girl. He wasn't Alane...his eyes began to water. "I'm so sorry" He tasted the blood on his lips and snapped back into reality. What had he done? He eyed her for a moment, she would not die here...she would never die.

She would gain her blood back soon and forget all that happened, maybe. He leaned over and looked at her face. How cold she seemed right now and the heartbeat she had grew faint. "I'm so sorry" She picked her up by her neck and started to carry her back to the alley to once he slept in. She seemed so sweet and innocent while she slept. He didn't know this girl but might as well take care of her, and thank her.

She just barely managed to keep a small hold on her consciousness.. just barely. Cassie felt a vague movement of her body, but her mind was so disoriented, she didn't know which way it moved, or what moved it, if anything. .. Strength.. come back... come back to me.. quick!..

Her body had never been very physically fit, Cassie thought, in that other lifetime. Maybe she had brought it all on herself. In any case, where her body was lacking, her intuitive mind well made up for it. She kept her hold the little almost sub-conscious state for what seemed like months, until finally, she felt her strength like seeing the light at the end of a very very deep cave-- it would come back slowly still, but it was coming back. Hahh.. I wish.. I could hear that sound again..

Solomon had been thinking about what she was thinking about, only curious to why she hasn't said anything. She didn't scream or anything..why? He ran over a bunch of questions in his head as he held the girl like she was a baby and he was her mother, but of course, he didn't think of it like that.

He went back to the alley and lay her down on a bunch of blankets and things he laid on while he slept. His gentle nature had it so he would make her happy as possible till she gained the blood back to either hurt him, or leave him.

Sitting to the right of her, closest to the wall...he watched her. His face returned to the mask it was before and his eyes fell tiredly. He had no emotion left...only his mortal side showed when he bit into the other glider's neck. "I can't believe I did that..." He said to himself as he thought about his new life. "Hey..." His eyes suddenly opened and he looked at the female who had not really moved...."Whats your name?" She was in udder shock most likely. "I'm sorry" The words seemed to flow from him to spite the fact that he enjoyed their dark kiss.

Still mentally reaching for the light, Cassie went from a drudging to a stressful walk to the end. It was close, very close-- but she wasn't quite there yet. She vaguely acknowledged that her body had stopped moving, either by on its own or whatever was moving her had stopped as well, and now she felt that blanket of silence again, almost literally. There was a strong urge to just stay in this comfort zone of the cave, and relax, and not try so hard to keep pulling herself forward.

But the light was so very close! Bright heavenly light was starting to become more welcoming than the dark that she had dropped herself in. Through all this mental struggle, her body had physically started to show signs of regaining health-- a slow clenching of a paw, a deeper up and down motion as her lungs breathed in a more constant steady stream of air, a furrowing of her brow, and even a slight twitching of her ears. As Cassie pulled back more of her consciousness, she regained her power to think. Whatever it was that brought me here, I'm going to find out.. I'll make sure that I find out every bit of it! She began a slow curling of her form into a ball, an almost unnoticeable shiver ran down her spine, and the marking on her face seemed to glow brighter than ever.

Not long after, Cassie was slowly blinking her way back to the world. Her eyelids felt heavy, and at the moment, she couldn't open her eyes all the way, to see all of her surroundings. But what was this? Blankets under her? A small dark space- a hole in the wall? an alley? And gods! The side of her neck was throbbing with an annoying pain. Going with instinct though, she tried to quickly stand up on all fours and get her bearings. She managed for about two seconds until her legs gave way, and she slumped back onto the bedding. It was then that she turned her head to face the last spirit she remembered, the very one who sent her to that pitiful blackness. With no strength to stand or probably even sit, she simply stared at him, her eyes apparently empty of emotion, but internally full of a distant rage.

It was strange though, she felt oddly at home with this kind of situation, like she might have experienced something like this before-- wanting to help someone who wasn't fully in control of himself, and willing to do so with no long-lasting regret..

He watched her...she didn't talk much, did she? His lips made no notion for talking...she was determined, he gave her that. He liked that, gazing at her beauty he licked his lip with a slight pleasure..he wanted more. Her blood was warm in his throat. But did he really need the blood he drank? Or was it the simple fact that since he was a child, he had hunted and killed for the taste of blood? It now recalled the memory of when he was attacked by a vampire, and the next week at school he nearly burned to ash in the sun at recess. He laughed half-heartedly at the thought. Such good times, that was the day he would meet his lover...and his thirst.

Snapping back into reality was when he caught himself chewing on the blanket he lay on by the wall, most would ask where he got all these blankets but it wasn't hard to get what one desired in this land.

Yet her, the one who laid in his bed (or lack there of)..she seemed special. Her faint scent remained on his fur, he leaned over to smell where he touched his shoulder. She was much more simple then others she has seen...No wings, clothing, tails, or real markings. Except for the one under her eye. Her eyes gleamed with a darkness that almost told her life, but he needed her voice. The beloved tone that was able to make or break the instant love he had for her.

The question still remained to him that he could not draw from her mind when he bit her. How did she die?

Yet, still, he remained in his state of just watching her move, feeling sorry that he would not help her but being a vampire gave him a cold nature.

It was suddenly amusing to her, though she didn't show it, perhaps besides a slight tilting of her head. Cassie had never met anyone who could match her glare stare, they'd eventually start to fidget, or look away, or say something. It was interesting, but it wouldn't get her what she wanted, so she was forced to resort to communication (of some way or another).

Her eyes remained locked onto his, and she even lightly laughed to herself at the thought that it seemed easier to do so when one only had one eye to focus on. She watched him for a little longer, trying to figure out any part of his character. Her memory from the street incident was really fuzzy, less so than before she became this spirit form of course, but the face she looked into then was hard to forget; and here she was trying to match that face with the cold one that looked back at her now.

Feeling that she didn't have the strength to speak properly, she sent him a message with her mind, a message that plainly said 'What are you?' in a strange emotional pictorial way, replaying whatever she could remember from their meeting (his appearance, his bodies strange behavior, his fangs that subtly poked out from his mouth, his own unusual behavior). There was no anger in the tone of the message, it was rather neutral, but seemed to leave a hanging thought or thoughts about what might have happened back on the street and why.. Shortly after sending the message though, she was suddenly reminded about the blankets and looked as she sent a hesitant thank you for taking care of her while her mind wasn't completely connected with her body. A picture of the blankets was formed, and though not luxurious, they did a fairly decent job in providing comfort.
