Bodhisattva flapped her wings. She was far from adept at flying. She didn't even know if she had done anything that she could really consider flying yet. Her best effort had lifted her off the ground only to send her sprawling back down again a moment later. That was something though, right?
For the time being she wasn't trying to fly. She flapped her wings as she walked for practice and to build up their strength. She smiled as she did so and was soon humming along in time with her wingbeats. Her voice might not be yet at the level of her mother but anyone could hum. Her song was punctuated by the whoosh of air caused by her moving wings and the tempo of her small hooves striking the ground beneath her.
A soft breeze stirred the three feathers on her head and Bodhi couldn't help but grin. It was looking to be a good day!

The leaves were turning.
A truly fascinating phenomenon, and one that frequently captured the pale alicorn's attention as he passed beneath the heavy boughs of autumn. Today was no different, and though his eventual destination was the shinning lake not a few yards off, he took his time getting there. For Tiarnan, the journey of life was something he took one step at a time, and he thoroughly enjoyed the tranquility of the moment... surrounded by naught but undisturbed nature.
And some new friends.
Shaking out his thick golden mane, the young stallion abruptly broke into a brisk trot, accompanied by a trio of cardinals that had appreciated an earlier comment he had made. They swirled about his head, chirping loudly and singing in tune with his hoof beats. Whickering in response, Tia elevated his trot and cavorted in place, much to the amusement of the birds and a cranky old raccoon.
